I do. I upgrade every year. Sell the watch only with the sports band or sometimes without. I already have the sports band and I don’t need duplicates. I have been lucky enough to find forum members in the marketplace who purchase my items. This year the same person who bought my Hermes series 6 is buying my Hermes series 7.
Ah I didn't know there was a marketplace here. Perhaps I'm a) blind, b) too new, c) both lol.

However I'm in Australia, which is always a limitation with things like this.

I’ve been upgrading yearly since the S4 Hermès and I think I’m gonna skip this year with the rumoured minor upgrades.

Will definitely get a new leather band or two. And yes we want more pattern prints and new colours. Not more black or grey or gold/Fauve.
Agree. Bands should be fun, especially Hermes. I'm also skipping this year. I'd like to hold on to mine for 2 years before release.

My strategy is a little different. I have both a SSB S7 Hermes and SSS S6 Hermes, both with term AppleCare+. This year, hopefully, I will order the SSS S8 and sell the SSS S6 with Hermes Sport and Leather and one year remaining on AppleCare+. I have done this alternating for three years and it allows me a new Fall leather, while offering a departure point for any older leather which may have proven to be less favored over time. You don't make back your investment, but you do minimize your losses while giving yourself maximum watch flexibility.

Normal behavior I think. It’s the Nike collab I’m more worried about
Has this happened before? I only dipped my toes in the Hermes pool with the S6 so I have no idea how things worked in the past.

I agree the Nike collaboration looks like it might be on thin ice. It probably depends on how Apple markets this new jumbo model as to whether the Nike will still have a reason to exist.

I’m looking through last September’s posts and I guess on the 15th the page showed as missing so maybe they didn’t want a 404 this year.

And, like, they have to sort through the old bands and decide which to take off the site until they magically re-appear in single countries in 9 months lol.

I’m not not worried. But also I have so many of these damn bands I would never lack for a lewk—except a strong bright blue. So if it’s over, that’s fine, and I will start saving for retirement again 🥁

As for Nike, yeah the booster rocket effect of Nike on a young product is obviated, and Nike watch for running muddles the Pro story.

It’s very easy to picture a new reality where they’ve ditched the gold stainless and all the fashion collabs now that the lovefrom ceo has stopped clocking the hours for Cupertino finally.

Not only US site. Worldwide.
So I dug back in this thread and it looks like this also happened 2 years ago right before the S6 launched. So at least there is hope the partnership isn’t dead. Keeping my fingers crossed!

They also removed the “Hermès” name for the exclusive orange color way for Hermès watches in watchOS 9. It’s just “Orange” now which is weird because there’s two different shades of oranges in the color picker after the change.
Was just going to add this. I believe Hermes has discontinued its deal with Apple based on this comment above. I upgrade Hermes every 2 years and really want the S8 Hermes. Still hoping.

Damn ... that could be the first real sign of the collaboration ending.

+1, this to me feels like it’s the first proof that it’s over. Items removed from the website is not concerning. Plus as someone else said, Hermes website feels like it’s from 2005.

But removing of Hermes name from wOS 9 beta, that’s deeply concerning.

Just watch, Apple will try to introduce its own “premium leather” bands and charge $500 instead of the $300 Hermes charges.

Guess we have 25~ hours left to find out.

You might want to see if you can snag a S7. You have 2 weeks to return it. That way if it is the last Hermes, you’ve got the latest one.

Try to call your local Hermes store. If they don’t have any, see if they can help you locate one at another store to purchase. If not them, I would start with bigger Hermes stores like Miami, NYC, etc.

Hermes customer helpers are normally very good at helping you find what you want. Pretty good customer service. Might have better luck that way than via Apple.

To play angel’s advocate for a second…the Apple faces on the “French” fork of watchOS with the extra orange are already their own thing and used only on the Hermès firmware…what time are they saving in software development by de-badgeing a color that isn’t coming to non-Hermes 9.0?

It’s not like the Hermes faces that live alongside it are going away.

Unless that Orange is being made available to vanilla watchOS the way gold/ceramic/titanium got merged over?

My gut still worries with everyone else on this one but maybe it just means the word Hermes is too vague because they’re adding another color lol! Or they just found it confusing after almost a decade.

Even if the partnership was coming to an end, I wonder why Hermes would just remove all of the previously available watches and watch bands instead of trying to sell off the remaining inventory (unless Apple does not want purchases of previous Hermes editions and bands to take away from potential sales of its own "Pro" model or, as @btrach144 suggested, selling its own "premium leather" bands).

Well I guess the partnership potentially ending has pushed me to scoop up a couple of bands still on apple.com. I knew I should’ve bought some of the jumping bands when they were readily available. 🤬🤬

I really hope it continues though. *fingers crossed*

Could be contractual. Maybe the contract ended on the first of the month or something.

I don’t think the partnership is ending. After all Tim Cook even wears the Hermes model.

Hermes has done this before. Wipes their website of apple before the release of the new model. I have been buying every Hermes since series 3 and this happens every year that I remember.

It’s not that. wOS 9 has removed “Hermes” from the font name for the orange font color.

That we have not seen before and does not bode well IMO.

They could have simply renamed it, and if watchOS isn’t finalized they can always bring it back. Or maybe they are naming it something else. Anything is possible.
