Think about it is Apple going to stop selling a Nike brand version of the watch because now they have their own pro model focused on fitness?????
And by that same logic, Apple can introduce their 41mm and 45mm ultra lux Apple Watch with their own $$$ leather bands.

I'm just speculating but this is the biggest scare we've had since the initial partnership. I of course want the partnership to continue...

Apple can’t charge $500 for premium leather bands. They have no reputation for quality leather. The first “classic” Apple Watch leather bands felt rubbery, the Modern bands are thin, and their leather cases for Macs were OK but not premium.
You're taking me literally. What I meant was their own premium bands. $300, $500 whatever. Apple always loves to cut out the middle man (Hermes in this case) when they can.

Also, daring is a huge source for Apple leaks but I highly doubt he knows anything about the Hermes watches. It's technically a really really small 0.1% of Apple's business.

He has sources across the company and is a mechanical watch guy.

His post was pure speculation based on past knowledge that the partnership was previously successful. Does not indicate anything about the future. He's reaching IMO.
Yeah. I know we’re just filling space and it’s fun to speculate unlimited while we wait, but for sure we agree the logical leap of Pro entirely replacing Hermes doesn’t track?

That seems to be driving the story as 9t*5 framed it.

That’s just click bait and people getting bored the day before the event.

The new Pro/Extreme/Ultra/Max is not a replacement for the Hermès version.

I just feel like it’s the only tangible thing, right? My Nike fear is largely because they did just the one band in spring. Hopefully it’s just a fall/spring thing.

I don’t agree with their take. I think if Hermes is gone, it has nothing to do with pro model.

9to5 mac has some low quality journalism that really stretches too far sometimes.

I can't see Hermes only supporting the non-pro watch. Either it's Apple Watch Pro Hermes, or nothing.

I know the general sentiment is that the new watch is RUGGED and focused on extreme sports. But on the flip side, we all know it's the new top-end watch, whether you climb mountains, or work in an office... Everyone that sees that extra bump on the side of the watch instantly knows you have the top model. I don't see Apple aligning a premium brand like Hermes, with the "mid-range" Apple Watch, even if materials are bumped up.

This is just my take, ultimately I really hope the partnership hasn't come to an end. I only just got involved!

Someone remind me—do watches go on sale immediately once the Apple Store comes back online after the event? Or is it an announce and buy a few days later thing (like the iPhone)?? My memory of past years is very foggy due to working nights. 😩

Wasn’t it Hermès that leaked the S7 (or was it the S6?) in advance on their website so everyone knew that this Series will be available from Hermès as well? Apple probably told them to get their sh*t together. But given their outdated website, maybe the only save way to not leak anything in advance was to remove the Apple stuff altogether until after the event.

Last year the Apple Watch S7 was announced at the event but was only available for preorder a few weeks later.

The year before the S6 was available for preorder as soon as the event ended.

That blue is gorgeous!!!!

Like the new H bands. Not sure if I need a series 8 though. Especially because low power mode is on series 7.
