Looks real classy! But it looks almost black instead of dark blue (based on Apple website photos)

I accidentally splashed a water drop onto my Fauve Barenia band while I was washing my hands... now it’s dried and there’s a faint mark on the band.

Do I just leave it or should I do something about it?

You might try a leather conditioner like Chamberlain’s Leather Milk.

Leather is absorbent . So be careful if you try to remove the spot with any type of leather conditioner or anything else.

I really wouldn’t worry about it. I worked out in mine when I 1st got it. Two huge sweat stains latter. Over time they seem to have faded.

Of course it's absorbent. That is the whole purpose of a light weight leather conditioner to protect against this sort of thing happening in the first place. Haven't you ever owned a pair of real leather shoes or boots that you had to wax to protect?

I think the point is, anyone can recommend a leather conditioner as you did, but given the price point of the band, it would be best suited to perhaps ask Hermes on what they recommend or the link provided from the other member. I'm not being dismissive of your suggestion, but nor would I take your advice until I confirmed with a professional service first before using something else.

I agree with you. First go to the source. I was just recommending what I have successfully used and worked well on leather in that "OIL" is a no no. What I have used is a leather water based "Milk". But yes, by all means contact the maker first and foremost.

A member of the Purse Forum was kind enough to share this photo of her 1.5 year old Barenia Fauve double tour. (Credit to meridian on PF) She wears it daily and has had many splashes of water on it, according to her.

This is Hermes untreated leather, I would NOT put a conditioner on it or anything for that matter. The stain will fade over time and you will also most likely get more. The patina will help to cover up any water splashes. If you are tempted to try something on it, I would definitely call an Hermes store first and run it by an employee from there, perhaps even call a few Hermes locations to see if you get differing advice. Make sure to mention that it is Barenia leather, not Swift.

I bought this band separate and have worn it last 13 days. It has darkened a ton and i think water made contact with it bc it has weird blotches on it.

Anyone else experience this?

Yes it’s normal as it darkens over time and develops a patina.
But it’s not water resistant and water stains and blotches will develop if you get it wet. Getting it wet will most likely make it darken much quicker.

This is what the Hermes website says:

“Apple Watch Hermès leather straps will acquire a patina over time particularly Barenia calfskin which will darken with use. This is a natural characteristic of Hermès leather.

Apple Watch Hermès leather straps are not waterproof and should not be submerged in water. Perfume, greasy substances and liquids may permanently alter the colour of the leather.”

The new band is going to do the same thing (maybe not as quickly if you are extra careful), but it is going to happen. That's the nature of the Fauve Barenia calfskin. If you are worried about that, I recommend choosing a different band.

Looks lovely.

Do you prefer it now to the look/colour when new?

Have you spilt much on it over the months? Water? Beer? etc

Well, we had a rather warm summer, especially on the underground, so the sides darkened quickly from sweat. It was rather noticeable, so I decided to do the baby wipe trick to even out the colour.

Only downside with my Hermes Series 3 is the Digital Crown is semi mushy when pushed in. It works every time but I prefer a more clicky button.
