I absolutely love this! Can you give some more details on how you did this?

Sure! Glad you like it.

The tray itself is from H&M Home, I'm not sure where you're from, but they stock it in the UK here.

For the felt I took apart two Hermes strap pouches. You can pull apart glued edges quite easily.

Once pulled apart I ironed them both flat (over a t-shirt just in case).

Once ironed and laid flat, the felt is too wide for the tray (just), you need to cut around 0.5CM off left and right.

I then placed the pieces inside the tray. The felt corners are squared off vs the rounded tray corners. So I marked the rounded corners with a pencil. Using the pencil mark, I cut to shape with scissors (not very well... lol). After this they should both fit neatly inside the tray with nothing overlapping.

Once both are cut to size, I glued the first layer down with PVA glue. Left to dry for a short time. Then I glued the 2nd over the top of it (the one with the Hermes logo).

And that's pretty much it! I'm happy with it, and FYI the felt serves a great purpose (as well as looking cool), it really prevents the straps from sliding around inside the tray. You can move the tray around without anything moving which is useful if you are planning on storing it under a bedside table or something.

I picked up from Apple one of the new Jumping tours when it was released and today the screw into the lug broke off. I screwed it back in and then hours later it popped off again. Has anyone had luck with getting a replacement even though it has been beyond 14 days from purchase? Also, should I take this up with Apple or Hermès (I purchased it online from Apple)? All the help appreciated--thanks!

This would be a warranty replacement, not a return. Technically you wanna have a watch under warranty or apple care to cover any accessory issue, but this is so egregious, the exemplary customer service we know and love from Apple would probably let you return it outside the window if you really wanted.

The Hermes store seems to not have the special pentalobe screwdriver and people on here have not had good luck going to Hermes with this issue. The Apple Store people might be a little flummoxed but they obviously have the tools for repairing iPhones and MacBooks. This guy looks like he needs some new loctite glue in the socket.

I would just want a whole new band, sealed in packaging, as this issue could destroy your watch if it happens again. And per the Apple mfg spec, a lug screw should only be screwed in once.

Pardon, need a little Hermes expertise from you.

I tried the Barénia Single Tour Deployment Buckle on a 2022 45mm SS Series 8 today.
The leather is heavenly on the skin. Feels warm and nearly like the Trail loop for the Ultra watch.

Problem is the Barénia Single Tour Deployment Buckle is not short enough for me.
What are similar Hermes leather bands that can fit a smaller wrist?

Thanks.

Most are big for my 170mm wrist but you can take them to a Hermes store and have them add extra holes for free. I had 3 added to all (5!) of my single tour bands for my 45mm.

I am at 155 or even smaller if using the Apple Ultra Watch.
Would getting 5 or 6 extra holes to

Apple Watch Hermès - 45mm Ebène Barénia Leather Single Tour Deployment Buckle

make the end stick out in front too much?

THanks again.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I ended up arranging repair with Hermès, at Apple’s instruction, and they did an impeccable job. Actual fix took five months, which seems insane, but that’s what it took. The band is now better traveled than I am, but looks good as new. All I can say is prepare to be patient; I hear these repair delays are a regular part of the Hermès service experience.

One of the screws on my AirTag Hermès fell off after 10 months and Apple replaced it on the spot no questions asked.

This is in Australia though and we have pretty good consumer law.

Called and spoke over the phone with a rep at the Hermes main store on Madison Ave in NYC and he said that since the 45mm deployment buckle already has 7 holes, their policy is not to add any additional holes.

My only other choice to get the soft Barénia leather is to go with the double loop and 41mm watch.

Ended up returning my Ultra for a space black Hermes with noir single tour. If anyone is interested in a Bleu Lin or noir attelage with silver hardware PM me! Not a mixed metals kinda person

Curious: Did you go to Hermès store or call their customer service? Apple also instructed me that it’s an “Hermès problem” even though it’s technically their lug in a way and I purchase through Apple online. They told me if Hermès gives any pushback to contact Apple again and they gave me a case number. They also said when it comes to any Hermès band (leather or nylon) other than the sports band, Hermès is the place to go, not Apple.

For recent purchases/in-season bands, do they still want to take the watch+band back to do a replacement instead of this repair headache?

I recently purchased a Hermes with a single tour band. Even with the smallest size and using the last hole the band was too large for my wrist. I took it to an Apple store hoping to replace the single tour band for at least 2 Apple leather link bands. My only choice from Apple was to return the watch and band and reorder the watch with the band I wanted. I say band because I would only get one leather link. It didn't seem like a very good deal to me, so I kept my watch, bought 2 leather link bands and put my single tour on eBay.

This was a band I bought separately though they did ask for my serial number and what phone and iOS I’m using (???). That’s when they said if it’s the leather band I need to deal with Hermès. That leads me to think that you don’t need to return the watch and the band(s). When I clarified it was not the band that came with the watch but a later purchase, they said the same applies: go to Hermès. Hope that clarifies.

For the record, my repair was coordinated through Hermès support. They couldn’t have been more polite and accommodating in taking in the band, but again, as I said, the actual repair was painfully slow. I can confirm it went to Paris and who knows where after that before it was actually fixed!

I just feel like if the band is still for sale they shouldn’t even let you try to do anything but a swap right?

Also them asking for your OS every single convo is just iconic and hilarious at this point. I just do it happily like it’s some speakeasy password.

Would anyone here have the new Vert Rousseau leather band and access to a green aluminum S7 to try it on? Curious how well they go together if at all.
