This happens every year before a new collection drops
no, it never happens that there is no possibility of purchasing at least the straps. Now both Apple and Hermes can no longer purchase products. furthermore, the Hermes Apple Airpad keeper can only be purchased on the Hermes website and not on the Apple website.

…they literally pull the entire Watch section from their site every year before the fall announcements.

Apple doesn’t keep stock of the Hermès AirTag stuffs, once they sell out they don’t restock and the only way to get them is through Hermès. So far from the spring refresh it’s understandable that nothing is left in stock.

The AirTags haven’t been completely pulled from Hermès before afaik as they don’t even have a section like the Watch but most of the available stock disappears so everything new stands out better, then old remaining stock returns some time after. Some of the options like Rouge Piment and Bleu Saphir are from the first wave of Hermès AirTags and have regularly disappeared then reappeared this time of year.

Literally happened last year on September 5.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/hermes-edition-owners-thread.1999198/post-31394185

And based on the posts from that time, it looks like it happened the year before too. Everyone freaks out each time but it is not new behavior.

I hope:

1. Apple continue to sell Apple Watch Hermès, even without leather bands. Maybe only the Jumping single tour, cause I really don’t want to miss the Hermès watch faces on future watches.

2. Hermès continue de release leather straps, maybe exclusively on their website at least. And I hope they continue to release new Watch faces as well.

3. They open the Noir Watch face to the SS Apple Watch Hermès with watchOS 10 cause it is not fair that we don’t have it.

4. That Nike watch faces are available to Hermès watch faces finally, specially if they stopped or renegotiated the Hermès partnership.

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

The horse on my Lucky Horse watch face blinked twice in a row! The end is nigh!! (Or neigh?!)

Joking aside. The reports all say *Apple* is moving away from leather, not *Hermès* (obviously). I’m not certain Apple makes the Hermès bands—Hermès does, using Apple hardware (even when I had a broken lug, Apple made me send the band to Hermès for repair). Apple can still sell Hermès watches and leather and still claim it (Apple) has moved away from leather to reduce its carbon footprint.

I mean has anyone seen a Jumping or Casaque being unloaded for 90% off?

Per your other post the bands on the Hermes site are apple products. If Apple is entering their sacred cow era, they’re not putting their name on any cow, right?

Hermes always takes down the entire line of Apple Watches and then when the new watch is announced all the bands are out back on their site along with the new models. Happens every year since series 3 when I started buying the Hermes Apple Watches every year.

Yikes-uh. But also I only need Sellier and Cassis to go complete so also, gimme!

Edit: ok but Rouge/Rouge is ancient

For both the nylon bands and AirTag launches it seems they overestimated how many to produce because still having stock to dump years later is telling

Of course they figure that out in time to make getting more Noir/Béton AirTag stuffs impossible smh

Do you guys know if with iOS 9, when there was no longer an official Nike Apple Watch, , did apple still unveil a new Nike watch face ?

Just figuring out if the Hermes partnership ends, will there be new Hermes watch faces.

Not sure I said previously that they’re Apple manufactured. In fact, there’s a lot of Hermès product FOR Apple that Apple DOES NOT sell, which means it’s Hermès manufactured for Apple.

So you’re saying Hermes would become a third party seller of just bands with compatible AW lugs and Apple just stops acknowledging those colors in the software?

I don't think this scenario is completely implausible. The OEM Apple Watch lugs are available to any manufacturer to purchase in bulk (or at least they were back in the earlier years of Apple Watch). It's just that nobody making bands wants to pay the Apple Tax for genuine lugs when knockoff lugs are a tiny fraction of the cost and almost nobody cares enough to tell the difference. But a luxury brand like Hermes probably can afford to purchase the genuine lugs without losing much on their margins. I could definitely see Hermes continuing to sell bands as they are today, even if the official partnership were to end. We might not see any more Hermes branded Apple Watches, which would be a shame since the faces are part of the overall look. But I don't think Hermes bands would just go away.

My thinking on this is coming more and more around to the prediction that the partnership will not end next week. I think there is a chance it will change somewhat. Apple may stop selling Hermes leather goods on its site. But I think the partnership has been lucrative enough for both companies to continue. So you might only be able to buy Apple Watch Hermes bundled with a nylon band from Apple's site. But you could still get it with any band from the Hermes site. Tim Cook's Apple talks a very big game about environmental stewardship (and, to be fair, has made real strides in this area). But it is also a business trying to maximize profits for shareholders.

One other random thought on all this: Hermes added new promo shots of models wearing Hermes Apple Watches to their site within the last 2ish months. That doesn't seem like something they would have put money into if the partnership were ending.

It’s one possibility. But I hope it doesn’t come to that!
Yeah I was just asking neutrally not super skeptically, wasn’t sure what your conclusion was.

The question is is any third party still selling MfW-lug-equipped bands like Toms back in the day?

I guess the MfW lugs def made the jump to 44 and 45mm as Hermes bands use those and not the Swiss lugs of the Modern Buckle and Classic Buckle rip

To my knowledge, Toms was the only brand besides Hermes to ever use MfW lugs. The fact that Apple made 40/44 and now 41/45mm versions essentially just for Hermes also speaks to their partnership. Apple has never sold a first party band that uses 44/45mm lugs so those are made just for Hermes.

Also what were the Swiss lugs? Weren’t those just MfW lugs with different etching?
