Did you sell deployment strap???

No. I sent the watch back and bought a grey Edition instead. Which I didn't like, either. So I sent that back.

After that, here's what happened next . . .

[copied from the Edition owners thread]

tl;dr — I have an Hermès orange sports strap (with a tiny flaw) for sale. I may have a very slightly used (worn for a couple of hours) Marine Gala Éperon d’Or for sale. Or, I may have a brand new Noir Gala Rallye, or an Indigo Swift, for sale. Or even an Ébène Barenia Deployment.

***

I know you’ve all been worried about how things are going with my many, many Apple Watch purchases and returns, so I thought I’d update you.

In last week’s episode, I had bought the Hermès again, this time with the patterned blue strap. (I can’t be bothered to learn the pretentious names of the straps. You know which one I mean.) I had also been disappointed by a trivial production flaw in the orange sports strap.

After too much effort, a replacement — and flawless — orange sports strap was sent out. Apple had confused itself so much over the whole affair, that it didn’t ask for the other one back. Which means I have a virtually perfect (“I thought you said it was defective?”) Hermès orange sports strap that I could sell.

Meanwhile, I did really like the patterned blue strap but I wasn’t convinced it actually went with the Apple Watch itself. But then the shipping times on the Feu Epsom (I remember the name of that one — it’s the textured orange leather) strap fell from 3-4 weeks to immediate. I decided this was a sign from the Gods that I should order it. So I did. It arrives on Monday, or Tuesday, depending on whether you believe Apple or DPD.

Meanwhile to that meanwhile, in a move that confirms what you’re all now thinking (i.e. that I’m nuts) I ordered a boring old space black stainless steel in the belief that it might go incredibly well with the orange sports strap. Since I now had two of these, I could keep one for the SBSS, and send the whole Hermès watch back.

Well, it turns out that it didn’t go well with it. So the SBSS is going back.

The good news is that I’m now committed to keeping the Hermès. The only remaining question is: which strap? I’m obviously hoping that I really like the Feu Epsom. If I do, I’m keeping it. Which means I’ve now got a patterned Hermès strap I don’t want. Two possibilities. I could sell it. Or, I could return it to Apple (just the strap) and exchange it for the plain Indigo strap. Why do this? Because then I could sell the brand new strap. Which you people would probably prefer to the worn-once strap. And that sale would offset the cost of the Feu Epsom.

If I don’t like the Feu Epsom, then that will go back. And I’ll swap the patterned blue strap for the plain Indigo, which is basically my last chance to find an Hermès strap I actually like with the Apple Watch.

I recently ordered an Hermès Apple Watch. The orange sports strap had a very tiny flaw (a pin prick sized black mark embedded into the strap itself, so not something that could be rubbed off). Apple replaced the strap but didn’t ask me to returned the flawed one.

Someone has offered to buy the flawed strap and has asked me how much I would accept for it. I have no idea what a fair price would be. There are similar straps for offer on eBay for what look like crazy prices (around £200) but just because they’re on sale at that price doesn’t mean anyone’s actually buying at that price.

Can anyone suggest a fair price?
keep it and won't regret keeping it :)

Hello again, Hermès experts.

Anyone notice anything wrong about this picture?

Make me an offer! (I tried to send you a message, but I’m apparently blocked from doing so.)
I have a Colvert swift+ cash I would be willing to trade. What do you think is fair? If you like the orange one you have now the colvert swift is a stronger leather than the Fauve too.

I’m definitely sticking with the Feu Epsom. It’s perfect. Apart from the wonky buckle. But the less said about that the better.

I’m not really looking to trade. I’m pretty boring. I just want one strap I wear all the time.

What price are you after? I think $340 is fair since that is what straps retail for separately.

As it’s hand made you need to expect these quirks.

Ever seen an Aston Martin or Bentley up close?

I’ve changed my mind after buying something but I don’t think I’ve got out and rebought the very thing I just returned because I returned it for a purpose.

Be careful with the Edition sport band though. Those pick up dirt and dyes very easy and start color shifting after just a few months of wear.

At least you can buy another Hermès band but you can’t rebuy the Edition sport band.

I think you can buy the band separately via Apple Care when you own the Edition. At least that option was available to me when I was checking repair/replacement prices for my Apple Watch Edition (Series 2).

I agree, I mentioned this too in either this thread or the ceramic one.

Just taken delivery of the 42mm Indigo Swift model and I'm very pleased with it. I'm wearing the orange band around the house and reserving the leather band for work/socialising.

One thing I've noticed is that the long part of the leather band (with the holes) doesn't always lock into place when I fit it to the watch - it can slide all the way through and out the other side. This seems worse if I slide it in from the right (when looking at the watch face). If I slide it in from the left then it practically always locks into place. It's the same if I try it in the other slot at the top of the watch. The other half of the leather band (with the buckle) fits fine, as does the orange band.

Anybody else seen this?

Mine does that. I thought that’s how it’s supposed to be like as you should be able to insert and remove each portion from either side.

I usually just shimmer it back into place if it goes too far and it always lock in once I do that.

I've just cleaned the end of the leather band and cleaned inside the slots on the watch and it's a bit better now. Maybe there was a speck of something in there preventing it from locking. It still slides past the locking point occasionally but, as you say, jiggling it a little locks it in place.

[doublepost=1512330897][/doublepost]I also took delivery of the 42 mm EBENE Barenia deployment buckle Apple Watch Series 3 this week. It's my first Apple Watch and I really like it a lot. Here are some pics. It was really hard to find this color so I actually ended up having to order it directly from Hermes myself. Apple says it takes 5 to 7 weeks to get it on their website and Hermes, had it in stock and I had it shipped overnight had it the next day.

Love it!!
