lol yep that muscle memory kicks in all the time
Haha yep!

I’ve been pressing the button for the control center since I first got the AW because it felt more natural to me for the control center to be there. It’s nice to actually get the control center now lol.
Thats fair enough :)
I've been using the Apple Watch since the S2 was released so it's going to be tough for me to twitch to what I was used to.

So let’s do some math on the rubber bands (Kilim). All prices are in USD.

A deployment leather band sells for $589. A manual clasp leather band sells for $379.

589-379= 210

So you’re paying $210 for the deployment buckle itself.

A rubber band (Kilim) sells for $349.

349-210=139

So essentially we can conclude that the retail value of the rubber band itself is $139 vs a single tour swift going for $379.

Conclusion: If you judge quality solely off of price (probably not wise), the leather bands are nearly 3x nicer than the rubber bands. If Hermes would ever offer a manual clasp with the Kilim, it would be an entry level band at $139.

I don’t think Hermes could constitutionally price a band below 300. As with apple, the price is part of the product.

It’s like that one Florida expressway where as the price of the special access lane went up, it only created more traffic because the wealthy loved the exclusivity or w/e.

Which is why I think they had to throw in the deployment buckle. Hermes would never sell something that cheap. Adding the deployment buckle took a cheap band and made it Hermes expensive.

Before FW23 collection, deployment buckles were rarely used.

Not sure about all that but I guess there is a mental gap to be bridged when you picture the artisan labor-time put into the Kilim versus any “Paris” style band

My question is why is Hermes running rubber molds in Switzerland? Or did they outsource the production of the band to a Swiss watch maker?
Id imagine there’s no other rubber stuff happening in their own atelier? Maybe it’s a workplace thing too, fumes and heat and whatnot.

No room to add that so just go to whoever makes the rubber straps for expensive mechanical watches I’m always seeing on F1 drivers or tennis pros?

Hermès makes rubber straps for their own Swiss watches. The H08 has an intricate mold for its rubber strap.

I think you are right. I owned the H08 a couple years ago and it was a great mechanical watch. I believe all of Hermes mechanical watches are made in Switzerland (which is IMO is a great thing).

I got the H08 as an anniversary gift and it's the most elegant thing I've ever owned. It mostly sits in its orange box but I wear it on special occasions (which is like once or twice a year) and take it out every other week just to look at it :)

Can post some pics if anyone is interested.

The H08 a great luxury fashion watch. When I spend that kind of money though I prefer a Rolex - Submariner or an OP41mm (blue or green of course) always gets my vote. But would love to see pic as well.

Found a seller with a 45mm Metal Gourmette for $999. As restrained as I am to buy a $999 band, that doesn't actually seem like that big of a markup for such an unobtainable band!
If you are passing on it, care to share a link here for us? I only recently learned it came in 45mm.

There's no link, but unsure if the seller wants me to share. Shoot me a DM on Discord and I'll send you the right way.

Oh, so genuine 45mm and not the lug swap that eBay sellers do to 41mm double-tours?

Tempting but undoubtedly too small for my wrist 😩

That's the claim. Yeah I'd be all over it if I had a silver hermes watch, let alone any Hermes watch. Just sadly can't live the lifestyle all of you have!

Not too sure why im in this thread honestly. Maybe it's because my friends are here. I mean, I have two and a half hermes bands, that counts, right??

Re Rolex, it’s impossible to get it here in Australia even if you have the cash. Unless you have connections or are on their VIP list.

You don’t have to own the watch or the bands to be here. Your appreciation of them is all that matters!!!!

That Hermes watch is Gorgeous!!! Wow. I love the Kaki color!!!! Waiting on it from Apple or will just order from Hermes this week. Will decide tomorrow as I’m at doctors appointment on Wednesday and no one will be here to sign for a fedex delivery.

Haha I was veeeeeery close to buying your Series 8, but even as good of a deal as it was, I just don't have the disposable income to make it happen. Maybe one day!
Ok. I know. I recognize your screen name. I sell my Hermes Apple watch every year for same price as in my post, so if you ever decide to buy it feel free to contact me.
