What are the thoughts on sweat + Kilim deployment buckle?

At minimum, I lift for 60 minutes and then run for 2.5-3 miles, 5 mornings per week. Sometimes there’s even a second workout at night time.

My leather band is rarely used because swapping them out is a hassle and probably wears down the parts if I swap that frequently. I usually have either the orange or black sport band on my watch.

The Kilim is still tempting me, but I’m thinking it might be a waste of material and waste of money for my use case.
It’s rated for swim usage. So I’d say you’re good to throw tons of workouts towards it.

Deployment buckle as we found out a few pages ago costs $200+ and it feels very solid.

Kilim is the ultimate IDGAF watch band. I feel like you could throw nearly anything at it.

Theee are not designed for workouts. It’s only a sport daily use band that looks very premium

Elaborate? Source?
There is no source. But out of my interpretation, because:

1. Is not that breathable as the Nike bands.
2. It has a metal in it, which could get uncomfortable for long and/or heavy workout sessions, even cause irritation and allergies/eczemas.
3. It is not lightweight, you can tell out of its quality that it feels substantial, not as light as the normal sport bands, so it wouldn’t be that comfortable. When you use it you feel its weight.
4. It is too beautiful to be touching dumbbells and gym equipment with it. I wouldn’t want to damage it, plus is expensive.

Besides that , the band, as Apple claims, mixes an athletic with high fashion look, and it’s material is resisten to water and sweat, so you can use it for every occation, not as leather that could get permanently damaged by body fluids or water.

I do everything with this watch band. Wash dishes, constantly wash my hands, clean my house, bathrooms, went swimming with it, wash my car and it’s fine, work in my garden. If I want to clean the band I do so with Dawn mild dish soap and let it air dry and it’s fine. Hermes suggests using mild dish soap to clean it. The band is indestructible from what I have used it for so far.

I wondered this too. I go to Orangetheory 6 days a week and do some running. It does seem like an Hermes band that you don’t have to baby. Hermes and Apple both say it’s water and sea proof, so seems pretty rugged to me. Maybe just a good rinse after a workout but if it’s tough enough for salt water it should be fine for sweat.

Now I’m not sure the comfort level of the deployment clasp when working out. The size of the Ultra limiting my wrist movement was the main reason I returned it. I have a Kilim coming today so looking forward to trying it out.

Talking of cleaning bands, how do you all clean your Jumping bands?

I have the Kraft/Orange (a 'version 1') and the Bleu/Rouge Sellier (a 'version 2') - I normally spray Dawn dishwasher onto them, then wash and lightly scrub under a tap of warm water with an old toothbrush. My V2 band returns like new, but the V1 is clean, but not new clean if you see what I mean. Maybe it is because it is a lighter colour?

Out of love for Radial and just ongoing frustration with certain colors never getting a face color, I’ve found myself declaring the “Canopee” color as the perfect fit for old bands like Ebene (esp the stitching) and Vert Veronese—and of course Kraft. Lime too, maybe, stretching it a bit.

I ordered my first ever Hermes watch, series 9 space black with noir band, it arrived today and it’s still sat here sealed, really not sure if I should open and keep it!!! It’s such a premium over the graphite watch I’m getting buyers remorse before I’ve even opened the thing haha

Open it!!!

You only have one life, and a Black Hermès is a good way to live it. I have a S7 SS Hermès and if there was enough wrist time I would have ordered a Black one this year (I have an Ultra 1 too)

Open and enjoy. And don’t forget to post pics on here!

Don’t ever have buyers remorse. Owning the Hermes watch and bands with the unique watch faces takes the experience of owning an Apple Watch to a different level. The bands are beautiful and you won’t find anything like them. Enjoy the watch and wear it in good health. I have the Hermes SBSS series 9 and have had every Hermes Apple watch since series 3. I wouldn’t want anything else and this year I am head over heels for the Kilim bands. Open it. Open it. We want to see it!!!

I've bought the Hermes since the Series 2 (except S8/9 due to the very minor improvements to the Series watch) and went with the Ultra 1/2 instead. It was not the smartest financial decision bc I probably could have saved $600+ every year, but I wanted and enjoyed it lol.

The Hermes watch adds additional faces and nicer bands. It's going to come down to money/enjoyment because the SS Series does everything the hermes version does at about 1/2 price. You just need to determine what you value more - extra money or watch faces and nicer bands.

Good luck with your decision!!

I returned the SS S9 with Kaki Kilim and now I'm looking to buy a S9 with a leather band direct from Hermes.

I already have a SS S7 and 90% of my bands have silver lugs and I plan on keeping the S7.

Should I get a SBSS S9 (love the Vert Cypres single tour) or SS S9 (with the Fauve Clou de Selle single tour)?

Space black is deep black, it’s a nice difference over the graphite. If you love it as most do that get the Space black, order yourself the Space Black Link bracelet. Next level!

I would get the Vert Cypres. If I get another leather band, I would get that one for sure. Beautiful color.

Do you have the budget to maintain a SS and SBSS collection? I am focused on trying to get as many SS bands as my budget will let me. If I had to start collecting SBSS as well, that would eat into my SS collection. Not worth the trade off in my case.

For me, SS looks classy and elegant. SBSS is too sporty for me. And the number of SBSS bands release for FW23 is one of the smallest ever.

Don’t get me wrong, if money was no object, I’d be buying an every gen of SS and SBSS and all the bands. But for what I allocate to this hobby, only focusing on 1 is good enough for me.

Five single tour leather SBSS bands, five textile, if we’re talking 45mm. As someone who accidentally started down this road there’s not many.

Esp with daddy Vangeli helping out

I don’t actually mind mismatched lugs. I know it’s a big no no for some.
