I don’t actually mind mismatched lugs. I know it’s a big no no for some.

I wish I could get over that. I just ordered the tool to change the adapter so I could change it up if I wanted. Thinking about getting the previous Fauve Barenia without the button

I generally suggest not swapping hardware on bands with bright contrast stitching as it clashes with black hardware. Doubt there would ever be a Gold or Fauve band with matched stitching; closest was Cuivre but that already had black hardware because of course Hermès has taste.

Would love something like a Béton/Noir Clou de Selle with SBSS hardware, akin to the Noir/Béton AirTag stuffs with black contrast stitching. A dream.

If I was upgrading this year I would have gone for the SB. I’m not though as have a S7 SS and bought an Ultra only in May.

TLDR
I would keep the SS though as all through the series from 0 up until 3 I had SS then I went SB. Loved it but always missed the SSS. Then went for the ‘copper’ Gold SS S5, missed a gen, then finally the S7 SS Hermes and in love again. What I am trying to say is I love the SB, but not at the expense of a SSS. I also don’t have enough wrist time to rotate 3 AW and all my favourite bands.

IMO only :)

Safe bet the Kilim, safe colour, being raved about, will go with anything.

The middle band is the Rose Texas? The least safe - Personally I would love this band but have a 45mm. Bright vibrant and will get noticed everywhere.

Navy/Rouge Twill - IMO best all rounder. Reminds me of my Bleu Saphir/Rouge Sellier Jumping. subtle, classy, will go with everything.

If I could buy one only, it's the Navy/Rouge (If I didn't have my jumping). If I could buy two bands, probably the Navy/Rouge and the Rose Texas.

The caveat is that at the moment the Kilim doesn't appeal to me (yet to see one in the flesh), and If I were to buy one it would be the orange.

the Hermes MagSafe is really tight, I can barely fit the Apple Card, but it is really nice.

"Designed to hold a bank card" . . . designed for just one card??

How many cards can the Apple version hold? I'd need one to hold at least two (ID and credit card), ideally 3, just in case a place doesn't take American Express. Actually, I haven't run into a place in a long time that doesn't take American Express. Have you run into places that don't take American Express?

And actually I can't remember the last time I needed my ID. I just carry it out of habit. Are we technically required to carry a ID in the United States? Maybe I could live my Driver's license in my car.

Picked up the Kilim band in Navy yesterday and I'm torn. It's nice and comfortable, but is it $400 nice? I'm not sure. Definitely seems durable enough for anything you throw at it, but the pricing on these non-leather bands is just wild to me. I'm a big designer fan, so I'm used to odd pricing that doesn't usually make sense, but still on the fence here about it.

As a super-fanboy of my Kilim in Noir, I completely agree with you. I had the same reckoning when I bought my first Jumping band and it was only $20 less than a leather band. I work in the field and not in a traditional office setting, so after some time I found myself wearing the Jumping bands much more often and looking back with no regrets. I still love my leather bands, but they’ve been delegated to evening/weekend duty.

The all-around versatility of the Kilim with the no-fuss deployment buckle is perfect for me and the more I wear it, the more I love it.

I agree 10000%%%%%. I would only wear my leather bands when I go out. Since I retired and only work part time at home, I don’t really wear them. I love them, but I’m not going to wear them around the house on the daily. Now with my 5 Kilim bands (went totally overboard) I can do whatever I want in them and not worry I’ll ruin them. You can use the same reasoning for the leather bands. Is that tiny strip of Hermes leather really worth $379? Probably cost them peanuts to make them. At least with the Kilim I know I am getting the use out of that $349 band because I can wear it on the daily doing whatever I want without worrying I’m going to ruin my band.

I am a Huge Fan of deployment buckles having only worn Rolex since 1986 (yup I’m old) and when I moved over to the Apple Watch I really disliked the fact that it was a traditional strap and I missed the ease of taking the watch on and off with the deployment buckle. So that in itself sealed the deal even more for me with the Kilim!

Has anyone experience with bringing a leather band in to Hermès for service? My deployment buckle starts to show its age (bought it with the S2) and I really love this band but I’m not sure what my options are.

Question to everyone buying the Hermes Watch every year, what is holding you back from using this money to buy one fancy watch (eg. Rolex, Omega etc.) which will hold its value + will hold up forever, not like an Apple Watch which you aren't going to use longer than ~5years max. ?
