A few other observations on the Twill Jump after wearing it for a bit.
  • It is definitely more supple than even later Jumping bands (and much more supple than the earlier Jumpings). I think the band is also slightly thinner.
  • The Twill Jump is narrower at the lugs by about a mm compared to the Jumping bands. This might be a function of not having the diagonal line pattern woven in around the lugs on the Twill. The result is the band doesn't span the whole lug bar and can slide around a little during wear. It hasn't been a big enough issue that I have minded so far, but I wish it was the same width as the Jumping bands. This also makes the band appear almost too narrow for the S7-9 watch face. It's not quite there, but it's on the border. The width of the strap at the clasp is the same as the Jumpings.
  • The Twill Jump has the same number of holes as the Jumping single tours. HOWEVER, the holes are moved up one space smaller on the Twill and are a much closer match to how the holes are punched on the leather bands. If you are someone who wears leather on the smallest hole and couldn't wear the Jumping bands because they were too big, you should be fine with the Twill Jump bands.

Excellent reporting.

I‘m assuming the twill is thinner/more supple like the Casaque because it’s not stacking two colors like the Jumping and Toile?

Haven't held a Casque but I think that's probably correct. The stripes on the Jumping are also made with thicker stitching, which makes the band more stiff.

Ok yeah it has “Hermes woven” on the documentation in it, duh.

So the felt sleeve my gold/ecru came in was the work of the eBay seller and from a leather band or s8 or older woven.
It could be that bands bought directly from Hermes (even woven bands) still come in the felt sleeve like before. I'm not sure since this was my first S9 era band and it came from Apple. Maybe someone else here can weigh in?

LOS ANGELES BABY!!
The „Mother Earth” pathetic apple theme, saving the earth nonsense. Had to go across town to The Grove to get the idiotic $370.- Hermes strap for a Xmas gift. Apple would not send it to an Apple Store in Pasadena, nor any other Apple Store. I don’t live in the Hermes - approved part of LA apparently.
The only location they even carry Hermes bands is at the grove which is a pain in the butt to get to.

Yes, currently all bands purchased directly from Hermès still come with the original felt sleeves. I don't know if this is permanent, or if Hermès are just sitting on a pile of the old sleeves and will eventually switch to the new ones. I hope it's the former!

Question for anyone who has bought an s9 watch…what is this white recyclable sleeve for? Sport band? Kilim? All s9 bands?

View attachment 2335418
The white paper like sleeve is for the Kilim bands bought from Apple. I guess the Briton and jumping tours etc from Apple also comes in this paper sleeve?

The S9 leather band I bought direct form Hermès comes in the old style felt sleeve.

I do believe Apple made the switch because the felt does have 0.0004% of leather inside of it 🙄

I get that the white of the new duster pops against the orange and is very Apple, but a less toxic unbleached paper more in the shade of the classic pouch feels like it would age and soil more gracefully.

Kaki/Gris/Rouge H bridon single tour — really highlights the glaring lack of a Rouge H option on most faces. This strong, purply iteration of rouge h does not match the shade very specific to the circuit face and band

And my two cents on the “Bridon narrow?” discourse is that they wanted to keep the chevron width within the normal bounds

Just a reminder that the deployment clasp can be swapped onto any regular width Hermes band (i.e. not the 41mm Attelage bands) with a small screwdriver and a spring bar tool. So if you have the time and money to buy up old deployment bands on eBay, you could conceivably turn all your bands into deployments. I did this with my navy single tour since I wear it all the time.

Good call. Probably will do this for a few bands and just have my watchmaker handle it. I got old eyes lol
