Indeed, at least in all the photos and videos I've seen. We have to see it in person, of course, but it's tough to imagine Hermes and Apple being okay with a finish that doesn't match the many existing premium Hermes bands with stainless steel hardware. It literally looks the same as stainless steel.
Sorry, but this doesn't make much sense. Apple wouldn't lose sales for the next 3 years because of "ew, look, bigger bezels" just to get more sales in 2027 because of "oh, look, smaller bezels".
This was just a design decision/necessity for the S10 to be even more rounded and pebble-like and so for the glass to wrap around the edges more. The bezel itself is the same size, just part of it isn't hidden underneath metal anymore. Now you may very well disagree with this design decision (I personally am on the fence about it and will postpone judgement until I see the S10 on my wrist IRL), but they certainly didn't do this to hold something back for 2027.
I’m curious to know what’s the material of the lugs. When 2 metals are in contact, the weakest one gets scratches.View attachment 2417801 I re-ordered a double tour hapi in Gold directly from Hermes today. Annoyingly the attelage hapi straps they advertise on their site aren’t available in the UK store but are available in the US. I particularly like the green. Does anyone know if Hermes have made more options available after launch for previous generations?
I’ve ordered for collection in boutique so hopefully when I collect which I’ve been told will be October these options will be available. I prefer the attelage as I have skinny wrists
Yes. Leather straps are only sold exclusively by Hermes. Are Hermés' leather straps only sold through Hermés (not Apple)? I can't seem to find any straps on my local (Swedish) Hermés web store.
Thanks. I can find them on the US website, but not the Swedish one. It seems to come up when I try to google it, but it just leads to a standard 404 error code. Maybe they'll be up on the 20th. I haven't seen any Apple Watch straps in their brick and mortar store either, but then I haven't really asked about it.Yes. Leather straps are only sold exclusively by Hermes.
No leather sold at Apple at all because it’s not recyclable, I believe is the reasonThanks. I can find them on the US website, but not the Swedish one. Launch season arrives and everyone is a tinfoil hat product design major 🙂↔️Sorry, but this doesn't make much sense. Apple wouldn't lose sales for the next 3 years because of "ew, look, bigger bezels" just to get more sales in 2027 because of "oh, look, smaller bezels".

I’ve had a look at the spec sheet on the Hermes website but there’s no mention of it. I’ll try and find when collect from the boutique but that won’t be until OctoberI’m curious to know what’s the material of the lugs. When 2 metals are in contact, the weakest one gets scratches.
You were able to pre-order in store? I didn't know you could do that. I wonder if one can do that in the Harrods store. And you got a rough idea when it's arriving too, which I don't think you get if you do this online, am I correct?View attachment 2417801 I re-ordered a double tour hapi in Gold directly from Hermes today. You can pre order on the website for collection in boutique. The pick up options are Bond St, Sloane St, and the Royal Exchange. You were able to pre-order in store? I didn't know you could do that. They did this on purpose , so that they can reduce the bezel in 3 years again.
I found this interesting mock-up on Reddit.
Apple said so at last year’s iPhone launch when they replaced the leather accessories with FineWoven. It’s part of their “carbon neutral” strategy. But apparently their license agreement with Hermes still lets the latter market leather bands for Apple Watch.Source for this?
I think the patent expires soon and Apple is content to wait it out rather than settle.I’m very disappointed by the Series 10 generally and Hermes options this year. I’m on Series 7 and was itching to upgrade. Here’s my list of issues:
6) US - no blood oxygen functionality. Inexcusable. They had a year. Modify the sensor or software in some way. License the patent. Figure it out. No excuse, period.
increase in bezels (an obvious regression - engineering necessity or design choice, it’s a set back. Be real.)
The Hermès premium on the Ultra is $150 vs $201 for the Series 10 (comparing the price of the regular plus a standalone Hermès band vs an Apple Watch Hermès). Maybe that’s why. The Ultra bands are also already supposed to be “sport“ bands so including an actual Sport band with it seems superfluous. Will someone who ordered the Hermes Ultra show the box and what’s in the box?
I’m on the fence about it.. the usual Hermes watch comes with an extra rubber strap, in an exclusive colour. The Ultra don’t seem to come with any extra. It seems like an after-thought.
Agreed!I’m very disappointed by the Series 10 generally and Hermes options this year. I’m on Series 7 and was itching to upgrade. Here’s my list of issues:
1) no stainless steel case options (could theoretically get over this one depending on in person impression)
2) no space black for Hermes & with it the death of the Noir face which was exclusive to that model
3) increase in bezels (an obvious regression - engineering necessity or design choice, it’s a set back. Be real.)
4) Apple playing fast & loose with their stats. They quote “30% more display area vs Series 6” There’s a reason they didn’t compare to series 7/8/9. Know why? Because it’s only a SEVEN percent increase vs those. And even for the Series Six, the 30% is for the smaller size, not the bigger. Bigger is 25%.
5) So 7% more display area and 10% thinner but guess what? To achieve that they *made the watch bigger* - really not impressive.
6) US - no blood oxygen functionality. Inexcusable. They had a year. Modify the sensor or software in some way. License the patent. Figure it out. No excuse, period.
When I calculated it last night, the Ultra has a higher premium. The Hermès premium on the Ultra is $150 vs $201 for the Series 10 (comparing the price of the regular plus a standalone Hermès band vs an Apple Watch Hermès). That green! It really is a beauty. Now I’m torn. I was going S10 w/ Beton Kilim… but those bezels. Especially coming from the S8 in black stainless. Also, I sort of realized while an all-weather all-activity band is useful, I love Hermes for leather. So maybe just a new band update for me with the green Hapi. I do love an attelage double (thin wrist club here too haha). Quandary!View attachment 2417801 I re-ordered a double tour hapi in Gold directly from Hermes today.
