I love the look of the Kilim bands (wearing mine now), but does anyone else find them oddly uncomfortable? Even though I don't wear it very tightly, it tends to either rub my wrist bone, or the deployment digs into my wrist by the end of the day. For a rubber strap, it's surprisingly irritating at times.
I find my ones I got new stiff and annoying sometimes but my orange and black came nicely broken in and I look forward to wearing them much more.

Looking at renders it almost looks like the 42mm has the same screen size as the 41mm, but bigger bezels and case.

I thought I’d be upgrading to the Ultra Hermes this year. Tried it on in store and hated the fit.

Series 10 seems to be a downgrade for Hermes faces so far. Maybe an upgrade for non-Hermes faces.

I guess I’ll keep my Series 7 and just get Navy Torsade band to have a bit of a refresh.

Thanks for the comparison photo!

Split between the Kilim and the Toile H. Opinions? Any Kilim owners want to chime in on durability?

I don’t have the Kilim band, but I regularly use the orange sport band. They are both fluoroelastomer, so durability should be similar.

My band gets permanently stained about once every 6 months from normal wear and tear. I sign a lot of documents for work, so maybe it’s black ink rubbing and such.

Acetone is not recommended for this material. However, it works like an charm and I have no cracks or notable chemical alteration from using it. Soap, water, and a brush have not been enough to save my band in the past.

I completely agree with you, regarding S10 Hermès feeling like a downgrade. The new Grand H steel band is beautiful, but I can't believe they didn't take the opportunity to also create a new face, especially to mark the 10th series. I think the larger-feeling bezel is also going to detract from the face designs, especially those with color backgrounds. Even with the screens being larger overall, the bezel look like a throwback to S6 and SE 1st Gen.

My Kilim bands have held up beautifully. I constantly rotate between orange, khaki and black when I'm not wearing leather bands. I find the Kilim band to be extremely comfortable and my bands show no visible wear a year later. I wish I also had the Toile H though. Such a classy, understated design.

What do you mean by a downgrade for Hermes faces? Do you mean because there's fewer? or won't look as nice given the design?

The kilim rubber has the quality of certain sport bands (especially s6) where they don’t have that lovely gooey touch but that means they’re super impervious to oil and stuff.

Alas Navy is just like similar sport bands where it does pick up lint like crazy. Just the nature of deep saturated fkm. lol the million little crevices don’t help.

Even the well-used orange one I got that had some signs of wear from connecting with the watch, there’s really not an overall shine wear to it. I’d be curious to compare the color condition to mint.

The extra space to the left and right make the face look smaller, because the black border is a tad larger. I like the screen portion to be as full as possible and prefer a larger silver bezel than a larger black border.

I believe all the faces themselves are the exact same except for the new Ultra.

Sorry if it’s not perfectly aligned, I really tried to get it there but the shape of each watch makes it hard. These were the best marketing photos I could find with a full color face.

Here’s the screen:body ratio of a 41mm (S8, left) vs. 42mm (S10, right). To me, the S10 looks previous-gen. What do you think?

You can see the silver body frame is thinner quite clearly but yeah the thicker black border doesn’t do it any favours.
The display is slightly larger but the thicker black bezels give the illusion of a smaller display.

The screen wraps around more of the watch, right? So the display is bigger, but it wraps around that curve more, giving the appearance of larger bezels. Just an excuse for them to bump the sizes up to 48mm/44mm for the Series 13 to make the band sizes even more confusing.

Agreed... I think that this doesn't look great on a Silver watch. Thick bezels on a light colored watch is distracting or unpleasing to me.

However, I think those same bezels looks fine on a black watch as the bezel and watch frame become one, and you just see a big screen and a black outer area.

I guess folks will see in person how the S10 Hermes looks in person in one week. 👍🏼

To make an educated guess about my earlier question and it seems that only one link can be taken off on either side of the Grand H band since you need a button on both sides to detach and there’s only one link like this. So, unsurprisingly perhaps, the L size won’t go under 175mm it seems.

Is anyone getting the Blue de France Kilim band?

I still haven't seen a real Kilim in real life, so I thought I'd try one this year. I have a few orange bands, and I want wanted something colorful, so I am trying the Blue.

I'm curious to compare it to the $8 Aliexpress knock-off Kilim I bought last year. It's actaully been a great band to wear while running errands around town. It's been a nice alternative to a nike sports band or apple sports band. I'm guessing the real Kilim will be on a whole different level though.

I ordered the same one :) time for a change this time around.

If the bezels of the S10 really are like that, it would likely be a deal-breaker for me. I still have my S5 (I use it for sleep and excercise), and when compared to my S9 on full-face dials, the difference is huge.

I have the same gripe about the Ultra bezels, which is why I have yet to be interested until they (presumably) extend the screen size like they did from Series 6 to Series 7.

Edited to add: I just showed my (non-tech nerd, non-sweaty, totally normal) wife the photo comparison of the S8 vs S10 from @Brettka7 above, and she thought the S8 was the newest model.

I'm looking forward to the comparison photos/videos when these watches are shipped.

Im looking to get my first Apple Watch Hermes but want a leather band so will buy direct from Hermes. However, I’m a little underwhelmed by the strap options for men. Aside from eBay do you have any recommendations of where I can source a preowned band?
Poshmark is a good source, but requires patience and right timing.

Exact opposite here, I find the Kilim band super comfortable, I do wear it a bit loose where I can slip a finger under it, As I do with all my other bands.
I also find the deployment buckle, makes it so easy to put on and remove the watch.
I have 3 so far, and I’m tempted to get at least one more, But I do believe them to be overpriced for what they are.

They did this on purpose , so that they can reduce the bezel in 3 years again.
I found this interesting mock-up on Reddit.

Sorry, but this doesn't make much sense. Apple wouldn't lose sales for the next 3 years because of "ew, look, bigger bezels" just to get more sales in 2027 because of "oh, look, smaller bezels".

This was just a design decision/necessity for the S10 to be even more rounded and pebble-like and so for the glass to wrap around the edges more. The bezel itself is the same size, just part of it isn't hidden underneath metal anymore. Now you may very well disagree with this design decision (I personally am on the fence about it and will postpone judgement until I see the S10 on my wrist IRL), but they certainly didn't do this to hold something back for 2027.

I’m thinking of stopping by Hermes today to pick up a gold/ecru toile band because the more I think about it, the more I prefer it over any new bands. It’s time for a change.

Does anyone have any issues with zinc sunscreen staining a band? I use sunscreen roughly once per week, and I’m careful to rub it in well but it still seems to stain the edges of some shirts. Not a problem for my darker bands but this one is quite light.

Sadly it may just be the anatomy and size of my wrist. One of the sharper ridges of the "H" pattern on the inside the the band happens to hit my wrist bone in just such a way that, toward the end of the day, I get some real irritation. I haven't worn the band anywhere near as much as some of my others, though, so it's possible it still needs to break in more. For most of the day, it's fine, too. If I could sort out the comfort aspect, I'd be all over the new Béton color.
