A special edition only round Hermès Watch would make perfect sense and one reason to pay such a premium. I definitely want a high end series 4 but always end up leaning toward the ceramics. Feels like I get a little more for my money than a band and a face.

Keep the square ones around but make the Hermès and edition round exclusives. Assuming that there is a round of course. Pure speculation on my part.

I'd happily put my money on Apple never releasing a round watch, just look at Android wearOS running on a round watch, it's awful.

Maybe. Maybe not. It does look better that’s for sure. I’ve been reading the watch threads and there’s an argument to be made that the leaked face is a modular version for a round face.

For pure info. Sure. Square. That’s why I could see two lines. The edition and Hermes could be in round , perhaps with always on display, more as a fashion accessory with just a plain dial showing and minimum complications.

Have you seen the tag modular connected 41? It’s gorgeous. Same price as the high end apple versions too.

I agree round looks nice, but data on a round watch face looks pants as it's cut off all over the place.

Completely agree with you. I’d be willing to take the slight off look. Think about it. A roof mound white ceramic watch? Either a ceramic band or a leather Hermes? Heck I’d keep a simple toirbillon face on it and it works as a “simple” timepiece all the smart data is just bonus.

Truly I only use it as a glorified notifications manager, email triage, occasional phone call and calendar. I don’t think those specific activities would look TOO bad.

And like I said I can see them keeping the traditional shape for those who want the real data driven smart watch functions and go with round as a high end timepiece where style is more important.

Hahaha, love your optimism!

Apples pretty good at milking money out of us. At SOME point you do reach saturation in a phone or watch. I mean what else can you reasonably expect it to do? I got the X because I’ve got addiction issues but my 7+ would have easily worked two more years. I can see myself keeping the X for 3 minimum so upgrade cycles are definitely lengthening.

The expected series 4 maxes out the current form factor. What’s next? Smart bands? Sure. But I think people may be ok with a series 3 cellular. It’s good enough. Want to get the cash registered ringing again? Round watch. Immediate lust and “look at me I’m different” factor. And oh btw like the X was the first 1000 dollar phone this new watch gen 1 is available ONLY in ceramic or Hermes bundles. And I bet you money people will be lining up out the door to swipe their cards.

The good news is it appears we can continue using our past gen bands with the new series 4. I wonder what new styles Hermes has developed for us this time around?

I regret not getting last years Tour Èperon d’Or can’t wait to see what they do...assuming there even is a Hemès this year

How ones it work again? I thought you could buy all the bands separately. Some bands are unique to the Hermes bundled package? That doesn’t make more sense. Otherwise you could simply buy a SS and a band.

Correct you could only get the Tour Èperon d’Or bundled with the purchase of the watch.

Cool thanks! My dream high end Apple Watch is a white ceramic paired with the Hermes rallye strap (wit the holes) in an indigo color. Could look like bollocks but hey, my wrist :)

Yeah I’ve got a white ceramic at the moment and It’s been fun but I don’t think I’d go white again....its a lovely looking watch and I’ve really enjoyed it but I prefer a more traditional look with the stainless steel. Also I miss the link bracelet.

For those who have the series 3 Hermès, do you intend on selling or keeping it when the series 4 comes out?
I have the Series 3 LTE Hermès with the Swift band and will probably sell on eBay to the highest bidder just so someone can get it on the cheap. My last one was given to my kid for free. :)

I just sold my Series 3 with AppleCare+ for AUD850 (approx USD610), less than half than what I paid for.

I guess Hermès and stainless steel watches don’t really hold their value!

But now I’m really ready for Series 4!!!

I'd like a round Hermes only if the face stayed always on.
Hurm, I don't see the appeal, honestly. The current Hermes watch faces are gorgeous in their simplicity (ok, not so much the one that's like all pyramids and stuff, but the other ones look fricken great), and they really "own" the rectangular watch display IMO. Analog watches also look better in rectangular format, IMO. There's a whole bunch of cool ones from like the 1960s that are awesome.

Too bad though that I'm such a gadget nerd that I could never stick with a Hermes watchface all day long. I NEED WIDGETS! lol (Also, I can't afford the price of the leather/metal clasp band whatsitscalled, ugh. Looks awesome, but hell... $1600, goddamn!)

It looks like a blank uncharged smartwatch screen on a posh bit of leather for the majority of the time.

Not even remotely fashionable. The situation is utter dirge.
