Beautiful! My fav leather band I own for AW also, plus was a Bday gift from my wife so has sentimental value also
Yes, shocked! 😂 The shop assistant even explained that the reason is so that the band can be returned and sold to someone else…„shocked” 😂
I think that’s totally fine. If the band is still in pristine condition (was a gift or something) and you can’t tell the difference, does it really matter?Yes, shocked! 😂 The shop assistant even explained that the reason is so that the band can be returned and sold to someone else…
Hey! First time Apple Watch Hermès owner here… Got the Grand H, which I love! Wasn’t available at any Apple Store in the UK, so had to get it from the Hermès store, but was shocked to be told that AW bands sold at Hermès stores don’t come sealed (with those sticker tabs all other Apple products have). Same product bought from the Apple Store does come sealed. Just wanted to check this is true and normal? Thanks!
I agree with this. I don’t remember my band (which was an etoupe leather band) being sealed when I purchased. I bought it in the UK as well at the Sloane street Hermes store. From my very few experiences, the bands are never sealed, and the box does not have a barcode. The band was always shown to me before I made my purchase (or not). They are still new and not pre-owned.
Congratulations on your Grand H. It's so tempting. 🫣
Thanks for your message! Yeah it had all the protective stickers on it too so definitely new. Was just surprising since usually everything from the Apple Store is sealed. I even asked at an Apple Store and they had no idea about this and found it very strange lol. From my very few experiences, the bands are never sealed, and the box does not have a barcode. I have variations of this bug on all my watches since 11.0. Crown needs a million clicks to enter the app honeycomb, crown does nothing when scrolling to bring up the Smart Stack, Smart Stack/notification center scrolls in when changing face color, &cHi all, I'm trying to narrow down a bug that - weirdly - could be specific to Hermès models (it's been happening since watchOS 11.0 for me, but so far no one with a non-Hermès model seems to have the issue). Can some fellow Hermès owners do a test for me?
1. From the watch face, long press the face to open the "face switching" view
2. Press the crown once so it returns to the watch face
3. Rotate the crown "up" to open the Smart Stack - did it open the Smart Stack as expected, or does nothing happen when you rotate the crown?
Yeah, I know what you mean - the bugs when setting the face colors are particularly annoying (especially with the Hermès faces where the digits become the wrong shade and you have to go back in and fiddle with it until it shows it correctly) - but what about this specific bug? Does this specific issue, where opening the face selection view causes the crown to not work to open the Smart Stack, happen on your non-Hermès watches or only your Hermès?I have variations of this bug on all my watches since 11.0.
I could really forgive it all as mostly “things people with too many bands/watches do” but the crown not responding drives me mad! Basic basic functionality.I have variations of this bug on all my watches since 11.0. watchOS is essentially derelict, especially when you get to face color selection. Apple just doesn’t care.
The bugs just pile up over time with every new update. I even got my first S10 recently and it’s not even a case of they’re forgetting to test old watches (it’s a faux pas to daily drive an old watch as an employee) because the S10 also struggles.
I feel like I would have noticed Hermes-specific bugs by now. I think the rot is in all the code.Yeah, I know what you mean - the bugs when setting the face colors are particularly annoying (especially with the Hermès faces where the digits become the wrong shade and you have to go back in and fiddle with it until it shows it correctly) - but what about this specific bug? That's what I'm trying to isolate, because so far I can't replicate it on non-Hermès watches, but it's happening on my Hermès and on MacDevil7334's Hermès watch too.
Which AWs from your collection running the latest watchOS beta version has this problem? List all of them here.I have variations of this bug on all my watches since 11.0. I’m on 11.3.1 and this happens exactly as described.Hi all, I'm trying to narrow down a bug that - weirdly - could be specific to Hermès models (it's been happening since watchOS 11.0 for me, but so far no one with a non-Hermès model seems to have the issue). Everything polished steel can be made shine again with Cape Cod. Never ever use it on brushed material.Dumb question has anyone Cape Cod’d an Hermes buckle? Scratched up my BdF Kilim going hard with laundry putaway
Counterpoint: why would I want to dilute that sweet cherry smell?Everything polished steel can be made shine again with Cape Cod. Never ever use it on brushed material.
And - believe me, you can get deep scratches disappear with Cape Cod. My personal experience.
Another experience with Cape Cod: Out of the box it is very wet and oliy - far too oily. Just cut out a small piece of it for your work, dry it a bit and then polish your - whatever.
It is not about that enchanting smell.Counterpoint: why would I want to dilute that sweet cherry smell?
Next you’re gonna tell me to not polish my watch in a small enclosed room with no ventilation!
