Everything polished steel can be made shine again with Cape Cod. Never ever use it on brushed material.
And - believe me, you can get deep scratches disappear with Cape Cod. My personal experience.

Another experience with Cape Cod: Out of the box it is very wet and oliy - far too oily. Just cut out a small piece of it for your work, dry it a bit and then polish your - whatever.
Since the Grand H is brushed SS, what would be the best options/products to try to buff out scratches on it? I really dinged the large “H” on the outside that I’d love to try to improve. Thanks!

This does not look nice, but I would call minor usage-traces, which are easily repairable.

I have done a lot of polishing work, things like this with ultrafine sandpaper, but this band is just too precious to experiment with it. I would ask a jeweller/goldsmith first. For him it is an easy thing, because it is just his daily job...

Cape Cod is definitely not the right tool for it - unless you want to polish it and make it shiny...
I have done that with an iPhone 8, which was brushed as well.

You can get brushed finishing pads (kinda like the scouring side of a washing up sponge), but for the price of this band I'd take it to a good jewellers.

My Grand H band should arrive tomorrow or Saturday. After I put it on my wrist, where do I press to unclasp the band do it opens again?

Grand H 42mm back in stock at US Apple and Hermes stores. Including in small!

In the same vein as upkeep — what are we all using to clean/polish our Grand H bands?
Steel-Watchbands of luxury watches live with their owners. They are cleaned sometimes. They show wear and tear. They show, that they are being used for years. Kind of an award. They are no iPhones hidden in cases.

Clean it, use it. Let it live with you.

BTW: Are we "polishing" the leather ones? They show wear and tear as well.

Will the butterfly end come undone if you press the middle of the clasp as well or do you need to do that manually ?
If you press the middle of the clasp, then you only will feel the pressure on your wrist. It acts stubborn, if it is not touched the right way. ;)

You only get a reaction, if you press left and right simultaneously.

What happens to the butterfly clasp at the end? Does that disengage when you press the middle of the clasp?

Beige de Weimar tricot single tour

This "Beige de Weimar" is one of these colors, where I have a "no" in mind at first sight - just like with the knitted bands in general (...knitted by Aunt Betty). But the color and the general appearance ont un certain charme - to express it in French. :)

As for the lugs: I already encountered this with another Hermès band I own. It is not a big thing, but they do have smaller lugs. They just should use them not only on the "small" bands.

Who’s Aunt Betty? If you have a link to her store that would be great. She really did a good job with the tricot/en mer line

That charming sister of my Mom, who likes to knit watchbands for me.
...better than wool socks, you know. 😁
Get her an interview at the atelier, those polyamide yarn bands won’t knit themselves!

Seriously though Weimar is something special. Am I allowed to like it more than Naples? These last few months too the name makes an American very nostalgic for a different era. A cozy cacao band while I cancel all my plans to fly somewhere for vacation.

Oh, Aunt Betty is very skilled :)

There are colors, you like at first sight, because, they shine. Then there are colors like this Weimar, you have to start to like, because they are kind of special. But owning all of them needs to have a close look at your bank account, indeed.
