I just received my Grand H band 46mm. Really impressed with the quality. However I have questions.

How tight should it be? It is about 3/4 inch below my wrist bone. Up at the top by the lugs I can just about get a finger in. I can’t get a finger in under the clasp bm

I tried to remove a link and pressed the little indent under the link but nothing happens. Am I missing something ?

Easy to get on and off which is important for my hand coordination. Would the Apple link bracelet have been easier or more difficult to manage?

Finally I have a stainless steel band I can manage. Thanks to everyone.
Regarding the size: Just try, what you like the best. As the watch and the band are quite heavy, it should be less loose than al leather band - just my own experience. Otherwise the whole ensemble wobbles like crazy. 😁

For the link removal: It is tight - but it works. You can remove all links btw, if the "allowed" ones do not suffice. You just need a small watchmaker tool to pinch into the holes.

Thanks. I removed one link to start. How does this compare to the Apple link bracelet?

Steel-Watchbands of luxury watches live with their owners. They are cleaned sometimes. They show wear and tear. They show, that they are being used for years. Kind of an award. They are no iPhones hidden in cases.

Clean it, use it. Let it live with you.

BTW: Are we "polishing" the leather ones? They show wear and tear as well.
I understand this. I’m asking for the best solutions/balms/clothes whatever to clean them with. I know how to clean leather. I haven’t had a metal watch band this nice (I don’t count the Apple Milanese loops because they aren’t that nice imho) but except for a Rolex I got for my birthday in college that I’ve subsequently lost.

I have a new Grand H 46mm SS band. I took out one link. Band is still slightly loose. When I took out a second link, I could barely close the clasp and the watch felt tight. It seems I am between links. What can I do?

Have been enjoying the OG Black/gray trial look recently. Pairing with a greyscale Maritime face, to make it a more subtle pairing. Curious if they’ll bring out a Black U3 Hermy this year… this face combo with the current all black trail loop and black casing would be a delight!

What face is that?

I visited the Hermes store in NYC TODAY. I wanted to talk about how tight the Grand H band needed to be. They said if I remove links, I should do that equally from both sides to keep the band in balance. Removing one link from each side made it too tight, so I kept the Large as purchased. Surprised.

Can anyone help? On the Grand H, is it better to delete links on both sides or can I delete links from only one side? Deleting links on both sides makes the watch tight. With no links deleted it is very comfortable but it moves up my forearm about an inch. It slides around a bit. Visited The Hermes store in NYC who suggested I not remove links. I am confused

I don't have a Grand H but have a similar scenario with the Apple link bracelet.

I'm assuming the issue of "balance" is how aligned the clasp looks on the underside of your wrist. On the link bracelet, the most comfortable fit for me is to have two of the removable links on one side, and one on the other. This does cause the clasp to be ever so slightly misaligned.

Comfort is most important to me instead of how it looks, so, I don't worry about it.

Thanks. Perhaps someone with a Grand H can respond?

I have the Grand H and have one link removed and have never been bothered by anything looking imbalanced or off center. One link on each side is too tight, no links removed is too loose.

Don’t have one myself yet but I think so, as the guidance is to remove two links.

Having said that, there may be some benefit with a lop-sided, if it stops the clasp bashing against your MacBook Pro. (from experience with my hardly-worn-nowadays Omega!).
You refer to a guidance that suggests removing two links. Where is that?

Anyone using the Hermes Grand H SS as their daily driver? The more I wear mine, the more I like mine. I am “between links”. Removing one link makes the watch unbalanced and removing two makes it too tight. The Hermes store in NYC advised a slightly loose fit using all the links. I find the watch very comfortable albeit a bit prone to sliding. Now what do I do with my Kilim bands and leather deployment ones, now that I am rocking the SS band?

I removed 1 link from my medium Grand H and it fits snugly/perfectly without being too tight.

I used to daily my Kilim bands before as well but since I have the Grand H since about 2 months now, I have been wearing this nearly non-stop (interchanging it mainly with the hermes sport band for workouts). I find it very comfortable, even with the weight of the band. I have also gotten comments from friends that the watch looks closest to a traditional watch with the Grand H on. I have also picked up a few scratches mainly on the underside closing area which initially very much bothered me, but then the more little ones I have picked up wearing it daily, the more I accepted that a traditional watch with a metal band would also pick up similar "patina" on the band so have accepted the now a bit worn in look. Overall the grand H is a fantastic band as many others have stated here.

Thanks so much.

This is exactly the amount of space a jeweller usually recommends for this kind of band.
Thanks co much. It slides just s bit, but is very comfortable. I can see it becoming my daily band, but then what do I do with my deployment bands (leather and Kilim)?
