Just picked up my Hermes 40mm with the brown leather band. It’s Really nice. I tried in the 44 in the shop and on my 160mm wrist it looked too big. Interesting the staff said that the small watches have been much more on trend for guys this year as people are not liking the over sized look. Especially with the 40mm not looking bad on a small guys wrist.

The series 4 is beautiful in SS the simple watch faces are lovely. It makes it feel like Normal watch as opposed to a toy.

My question how ever is Under the Hermes logo is a dot, does this mean anything or it just part of the logo?

Remember we used to be 38 so the larger size is appreciated. But I can’t do a quick glance for corner info; it takes a moment to read. Originally I wanted the 44 but no way did the bands fit and it was wider than my wrist. I envy you guys/gals.

Re: reading the corner info well in 40mm using Infograph face.

my challenge is getting to used to all that info and which pocket of pixels to look for!

Note: using the 40 gold while awaiting Monday Hermes.

Thank you. It’s a fully covered dot currently so it doesn’t look like the moon phase.

Thanks.
[doublepost=1537729083][/doublepost]Separate question not Hermes related but with walkie talkie I get the little icon at the top. You’re meant to be able to tap it and go into the app but for me it does nothing.

That the same for anyone else.

That’ll be because You have deleted the face time app from your phone.

I’ve tried it a couple of time with friends. It’s novel at best

I’m sort of torn. I had the Hermès series 3, really liked the Hermès faces, and now I LOVE the new two-color faces. I’d ordered a 40mm non-Hermès Series 4, but missed the faces so much I went to the Apple Store yesterday and grabbed a 44mm in the dark indigo band. Now, that size feels a bit large to me since I’m used to 38 (and now 40), but the Hermès band selection in the smaller size is just so much more limited this year (no dark blue or black in single tour!).

I want to stick with Hermès, but honestly not sure if the 44mm is too big on my wrist. Here’s the 44mm alongside the 40mm (with my old Hermès strap put on it). Thoughts? (EDIT: the first one, with screen on, is the 44mm, the second with the screen off is the 40mm.)

44mm all the way!

I have small guy wrists 160mm and I’m using the 44mm. Your wrists look bigger than mine and the 44mm looks just right to me.

You’ve been using the 38mm so it would defiantly take some time to get used to the 44mm. But don’t let that discourage u!

Can’t beat the screen size and the amazing amount of info you have at a glance. And the limited choice of bands for the 40mm is another big factor.

So, I'm thinking of picking up one of the double tours in swift leather. I love the colorways and watch face (although I really wish they didn't feel the need to put Hermes branding in the center). The only thing stopping me is that I've had leather bands before for watches, and from experience they only last about 1-2 years at the utmost before they start getting natty or smelly if you wear them daily.

Has anyone used some kind of heavy-duty protective/waterproofing coating on their bands and has trip reports? It would be nice not to have to baby the watch or be terrified of drops of water when washing hands.
I plan on only wearing the leather bands when it’s not hot and humid. I think the coating might do damage to the leather besides taking away the benefit of having a soft Hermès strap.

That’s exactly what I do. Can’t wear the good leather in the hot/humid weather because it will get sweat stains.

I love the new Podcasts app for when I run. I am now leaving my phone behind.

But I hate that all day I see either the audio active app or Walkie-Talkie icons. They make this face look like crap.

The first two Hermes models listed, both 40mm as it happens, cannot be added to you bag in the Apple Store app. Others can.

What’s that about? No stock, and unknown availability?

I’d also like to know how to disable audio icon. Never used to be there on watchOS 4 or S3
Ugly and intrusive. It quickly fades in the yellow walkie-talkie icon, quickly fades it out, and then quickly fades in the audio icon.

"Jony Ive has bad taste!"

I created a separate thread asking if anyone knows how to disable that dot.

Doesn’t seem like it’s possible.

I don’t need a dot to remind me that music is playing in the background. Urgh

I would never treat Swift with any kind of protectant. It’s one of the softest and thinnest Hermes leathers (except when you find it on travel bags made about a decade ago, but that’s another matter).

Most waterproofing balms are oil- or wax-based and will either discolor the Swift or oversaturate it with oils, leading to more stretching than is normal. Swift doesn’t need the feeding from the oils— especially considering that watch bands show wear more than a handbag or wallet precisely because of constant exposure to oils in the skin— and Swift is quite good in rain anyway. In spite of the soft hand, it’s one of the more resilient Hermes leathers, although it’s susceptible to press marks, so that’s something to bear in mind. Those won’t be helped by a protectant anyway. Scratches on Swift can often be rubbed out with a finger.

I say go for it and enjoy it!

I picked up the new Midnight Blue sport band today. I think it looks super sharp and premium, and goes really well with the stainless steel!

Note: This is on my non-Hermès SS S4...returning this one when my Hermès one arrives on Wednesday.

Did you try the blue horizon too? Can’t decide between the two.

Hm. I went back to wearing the 40mm (unpaired, but just to have it on the wrist) for a bit, and really, I think I prefer that size. Of course now the 40mm Hermes are not available for pick up near me and shipping says late October. Tough problems to have, I know. :)

s0 aluminium space gray to s4 Hermes and I’m totally into the branding. In fact I think it’s worth more. I now have a timeless piece on my wrist as opposed to a hack toy that makes me sick to look at. Add the watch faces and the elegance is tangible. Not too mention I feel like I own a Hermes product and not an Apple one! Such a shame it’s tech based and not timeless at all! All that is exacerbated by the fact the its depreciation is worse that a Jeep. I’ll enjoy it and get every penny’s worth. Stunning!
