Just picked up my Hermes 40mm with the brown leather band. It’s Really nice. I tried in the 44 in the shop and on my 160mm wrist it looked too big. Interesting the staff said that the small watches have been much more on trend for guys this year as people are not liking the over sized look. Especially with the 40mm not looking bad on a small guys wrist
Philip, if possible would you mind posting a picture of the watch on your wrist, you are 160mm wrist I take it. I am unsure myself between 40 and 44, I currently have a 42 series 2. Thanks!

New to here.
I am considering to get the 44 sing tour one but wonder if the strap will fit my 155mm wrist....
I know I will be on the last hole for sure, but will it still be to loose to wear?
Can someone give me some advise on it please.
Thank you!!

Straps seem to go to 140 and 145, at least the new ones I saw in Apple Store online, as I am also a newbie.

EDIT: ooops, sorry, I was looking at only 40mm models.

On Apple’s site, the 44mm band says it starts at 165mm. I have 165mm wrists and have it arriving this week, so I’m hoping it fits me well enough.

I’m sort of torn. I had the Hermès series 3, really liked the Hermès faces, and now I LOVE the new two-color faces. I’d ordered a 40mm non-Hermès Series 4, but missed the faces so much I went to the Apple Store yesterday and grabbed a 44mm in the dark indigo band. Now, that size feels a bit large to me since I’m used to 38 (and now 40), but the Hermès band selection in the smaller size is just so much more limited this year (no dark blue or black in single tour!).

I want to stick with Hermès, but honestly not sure if the 44mm is too big on my wrist. Here’s the 44mm alongside the 40mm (with my old Hermès strap put on it). Thoughts? (EDIT: the first one, with screen on, is the 44mm, the second with the screen off is the 40mm.)

First off the watches look fantastic! Question though, have you measured your wrist? they look somewhat larger, I don't think my wrists are that big and I am on the fence between 40 and 44... If you can let me know that would go a long ways!

Thanks!

WIll do when I'm home.

Trust me. The 40mm looks perfect. The 44mm fits and looks ok i guess, but it's just too big. Less is more and all that.

I did and would certainly seek a return, but if all their straps fray in this manner I’m reconsidering paying a premium for the Hermès ones as it doesn’t really inspire confidence in the longevity of the straps :(
After a year I do not notice any fraying.

Someone please sell me on the Hermès series 4! I want one so bad just can’t get over the fact of no option for screen always on. As I would love to replace my mechanical watch. The options of tech with a classy Hermès face I would love

The custom Hermès faces were very nice last year, but the new split-color design are even BETTER, and alone are what have me going with an Hermès Series 4 instead of the standard stainless steel I originally received Friday. Not to mention the high-quality leather bands, of course. Now I'm just deciding whether to keep the 40mm or the 44mm. For me, THAT is the tough call. Once I saw the new Hermès faces in person, whether or not to get the Hermès Apple Watch was no longer a question.

I really enjoy traditional mechanical watches (I have an Omega dive watch, and two Nomos watches), and I'd given up the Series 0 Apple Watch for them, because it was too laggy to really work as a quick-glance wrist device (including just telling time!). Series 3 was when the Apple Watch became quick enough to work easily as a day-to-day watch, plus I get the advantage of activity tracking, Now Playing controls while listening to music or podcasts (I use this a LOT), quick notifications, etc. Plus, with Series 3 I jumped on the Hermès edition train and those special faces kept me from feeling very compromised in design (I don't care for many of the default Apple ones).

One option would be to pick up an Hermès series 4 and live with it within the 14-day return window, assuming it's already within your budget.

Not the member you asked but I’m 160mm wrist and here is it with the 44mm. Pictures always make the watch look bigger than it is.
Plus you can get additional holes added at the Hermès store if the band is too loose. That’s what I’ve done and now it fits perfectly.

For the curious, I spoke with an Apple supervisor and he’s saying that the currently-unavailable Hermes models will be open to orders again on October 5th. Not a guarantee, but it’s their internal target date.

Does Hermès store help you add additional holes even the watch is not purchased from their store?
I mean if I bought the Hermès series 4 from Apple store, I can still get the extra holes from Hermès store?

Yes, Hermes handle all band issues. When the loop on my band seperated, making a Genius Bar appointment was a total waste. They sent me to Hermes who sent it to France for repair. I swear when it came back, it was a new band. Either that or they fix them to new state. Amazing.

Thank you. And I hope Hermès stores in Hong Kong will do the same!

Yes definitely. I’ve had holes added on three single tours at the Hermès store at no cost. In and out in 5 mins.

When you spend on a Hermès band, you pay for the leather, the craftsmanship and the service.

I see you don't have the walkie talkie/audio 'dot' at the top of your S4. Lots of people complaining about it in other threads. How'd you lose it?

I believe it reflects having Walkie Talkie availability set to "On." You can turn it off, and when someone next initiates a Walkie Talkie conversation with you, if you accept, it switches you back to On.

Thanks for this. I've been stalking the rose double tour version, and now I can target my impatient page refreshing more effectively.

If I need to add another hole, but don’t live somewhere with an Hermès store...what options do I have? Are there tools that are relatively easy to use to do it yourself (after practicing 20x on an old belt lol)

I don't know if I would do that. maybe call Hermes and they may let you mail the strap to them for them to add additional holes. Its worth a shot.

Basically, The Hermes one you loaded can be customized to any of the others by pressing to customize; at top are four dots indicating fields to customize; swipe to the third dot and turn the crown to color of choice— also face of choice. press crown to finish.
