I finally found the color in store, swapped out my deployment clasp for the the original. ✌

Are the Hermes faces available for ever more once you have a backup of the Hermes data? If I had a S3 with a Hermes strap and then upgraded to a ‘regular’ S4 would I still have access to the Hermes faces?

I did not keep my Hermes faces when I moved from a Hermes series 3 to a SS gold series 4.

I wish they were, that would make me get a Hermes then, but don't think it is possible.

Thanks. That’s a real shame.

Sounds not. That’s annoying. Once I have bought a band I can use it on any watch body, but apparently they don’t want you to use the strap from your previous Hermes watch on your new one...

No, you will not have access to the faces. The OS recognizes if you have a Hermes watch or not load the Hermes faces on a regular Apple Watch.

Probably the only one in here with a brand new S0! I tried to get my battery replaced last week and Apple declined to repair it. It came back from the repair depot with deep, long scratches in the face of the watch so my apple store sent it back for rectification on their dime. Got a brand new (refurb) S0 back.

So this was fun... removed and replaced the worn out loop, dyed it with Fiebings black leather dye, and conditioned (many times) with Leather Masters cream. Can’t say it looks brand new but it definitely gave this band new life.

Repair Question: My 42mm Cuff's retainer loop is starting to separate. Has anyone sent a band to Hermes for repair? I'd love to get it fixed but I'm unsure on the process.

Not a band, but I’ve taken a purse strap to the store for repair & they sent it out. It took about 6 weeks to come back. I’m sure the process would be similar with a Watch band.

Apple restocked some of the Hermès bands from the spring collection! I finally got my hands on the Rose Sakura double tour!

I do the same. I have eBay knock offs I wear most of the time. Every now and then, I'll put the real thing on for a special night out (which is rare with a 3-year-old). But I find myself paranoid as hell just washing my hands with a genuine band on.

And herein lies my problem: I couldn't agree with you more.

I just picked up a spare authentic Hermes clown band off eBay at a great price. Now I can wear the real Hermes band while the original band that came with the watch is safely put away. I recognize that I am crazy and should just wear the one that came with the watch...

Do they ever tend to restock older collections or just the last season?

Tends to be random. The one i wanted was "currently unavailable" for some time. I know if you go Hermes official site they tend to re-stock more often (every day they have a new selection)

With the revelations that Ive wanted the Apple Watch to be a fashion statement and less of a tech statement, that leads me to believe he really pushed for the Hermes partnership.

With Ive out of Apple, I wonder if the Apple/Hermes partnership will continue with the Series 5? I really hope so as my Series 2 Hermes is getting long in the tooth.

I do not see why not. The case is the standard Stainless Steel model and Apple has already created a Hermès-branded watch face and the bands are made by Hermès themselves. So unlike the Edition models, which required a custom watch case (gold or ceramic), the Hermès model requires no additional manufacturing effort on Apple's part so the costs are minimal.

With Apple dropping the 12” MacBook (another iconic Jony Ive) from its lineup, I’m a bit concerned that they won’t continue the Hermès. They are adding other square watch faces to WatchOS 6. Apple seems to be culling its product line and prioritizing functionality over style. Likely Ive and Angela Ahrendts were big promoters of fashion. Both are now gone.

Well the 12" MacBook required a separate manufacturing line...I also believe it is too thin to use the rumored (return of the) scissor-switch keyboard. I do believe we will see that form factor again - as the first ARM-powered Mac.

Anyway, as for the Hermès watch, again, I don't see any reason for Apple not to offer it. It's just a standard Stainless Steel watch with a third-party band. Only if Apple drops the Stainless Steel model of the Apple Watch would there be a reason to no longer offer it.

I like the Hermès, too. While I share your concern, my guess is Hermès wants the arrangement to continue since it lets them market to Millennials. They would likely argue to Apple that it doesn’t really cost them much to continue. It isn’t as if they need a different production line. They simple engrave Hermès on the back, install a few watch faces, and include a different band.
