If anyone stumbles on a decent enough :apple: Smart Cover compatible back bumper, pls share pics ....thnx

It's nuts how few options there are
Were dimension leaks inaccurate?

Were case manufacturers blind sided by this release?

Does the cutout for a Smart Keyboard not work for a Smart Cover? I got a cheap MoKo case with a cutout, but I guess it's only for the Keyboard. Looks like it could work with the Cover though.

Am afraid the Moko case is no longer in the running ; I returned it , the cutouts were simply not aligned & the quality was below par

It's definitely not fancy, but I didn't have any problem with the cutouts. I'm not picky though, if it works it's good for me, so I probably just didn't look close enough.

So I just put it on and checked it out a little closer. Everything looks good to me except the power button. It doesn't have a cut out but has a spot for it, problem is that it holds the power button down. And if I can get it to not hold it down then I can't press it either. I guess this one goes back.

I love the size . My last iPad was the Air 2 and my current tablet is the Samsung galaxy tab S2 which is 9.7 . I do find it weird where it feels kind of heavy in portrait mode but not a deal breaker and I think in time I will be fine with it . I just love this screen and the speakers .

I'm thinking of upgrading to the 10.5 from my current 9.7 Pro. Do you guys think it's worth the upgrade? And what are you doing with your 9.7's? Selling or keeping?

Also, I like the look of the Apple leather sleeve. I tend to use the 9.7 careless as it's so light. Any of you bought the leather sleeve also?

Emphatically YES! ProMotion alone makes it worth the upgrade.

I would say your quote is the biggest reason many are jumping on board on this new 10.5/12.9 iPad. The hardware is basically the same. But the display and internals is what's making the difference for the iPad. Not the hardware needs to change, but the new Promotion display seems to be the biggest factor for the viewing experience.

I upgraded from the Air 1 to Air 2 solely for the laminated screen. Made so much of a difference with day to day use.

I would agree. And even touching the display you can notice the difference in the display. The Air gap makes a difference with the laminate display missing and makes the device seem cheaper when touching it.

I do think this size is the sweet spot.

I owned the first gen 12.9 iPad Pro and had to return it because it was too big for me to use on the sofa, in bed etc.

I think I might be able to go slightly bigger than the 10.5 but I am very happy with more screen real estate on this model. I sold my 9.7 before my 10.5 arrived so I haven’t held a 9.7 since but I think it would feel small after using the 10.5.

I'm planning on selling my 9.7. Where did you sell your and for how much?

I just used one of those resale sites. Didn’t get as much as I would have with private sale but couldn’t be bothered with the hassle. I did it about a week before the announcement so I imagine prices have dropped a lot now.

Just back from Apple and picking up my new 10.5 iPad. I took my old 9.7 silicon case that had a minute tear in it and they let me use the value of that (refund) off the new Smart Keyboard. So paid £104 for that here in the U.K. Good stuff!

What?

They bought back your silicone case in the form of a trade in, or was the silicone case a recent purchase they refunded?

interesting

Nice unboxing here

God I hate that guy. Nothing against him personally but he is to much of a fanboy to watch his stuff. And seriously taking jabs with a pink iPad stating he's being different? I have a rose gold iPhone 7 and a gold iPhone 6 plus before it. Also got the rose gold Apple watch before exchanging it for a stainless steel one. Also did buy the rose gold iPad pro 10.5. Didn't buy it to be different but because I like the color and don't care if you laugh at me for liking pink.

iPad pro 10.5 arrived at my office a few hours ago. Purchased the pencil also in the hopes to use it for some note taking or drafting. I have the iPad Mini 4 (second version) which is mainly used for video and some gaming. I expect to use the iPad Pro for productivity versus just videos and gaming. Impressions thus far.

1. Nice device size and excellent screen size. I have a Retina MacBook and this screen looks great compared side by side. Easy to read and plenty of room for apps and windows.

2. Don't understand why people complain about the "weight". This device is beyond light. Even with a cover is perfect fine. My coffee mug weighs more.

3. The cameras are excellent.

4. Movement in the screen is excellent: smooth, fast, zero lag and apps open quick as expected.

I have yet to download additional apps, but am very much looking forward to iOS11. This is when the device will shine.

Go for it, install iOS 11. You won't regret it.

I really love mine! Much more portable than my 1st gen 12.9. Everything is very fluid and battery life is quite good. Although I am not a fan of True Tone and have turned it off (never had the 9.7 pro).

I just asked this very question in the accessory topics. Hoping someone can come through with some experience and pictures. I just can’t bring myself to drop $130 on basically a leather pocket :(

Yeah, I wouldn't. I got one because I like slim sleeves, but I'm taking it back. If you are looking for a plush leather sleeve that screams "swanky executive", it does the job. But there is zero padding. I wouldn't use it for travel because of that. It's pretty much aimed at certain types of business people as far as I can tell. The executives and HR types, not the grunts. It is impressive and the leather is top notch stuff, just not what I'm looking for.

I've been a bit of a fan of WaterField's Dash sleeve. The newer version of it is getting expensive though. In part because it is becoming more a standalone sleeve with higher quality pockets for accessories, than it used to be. But the bit of padding is much better for airline travel IMO. And the pocket good when doing shorter trips with the iPad (commute/etc).

Yes! I couldn't believe it either. The guy just said that he had to go and have it authorised by his manager and he did. It's interesting as a couple of months ago I was in London and in their Regent's Street store. I've never been happy with my black leather iPhone 7 Plus case and on the off chance asked them about it, (the down volume button was slightly "mushy" in comparison to the up button. He just exchanged it for a new one. One thing with both of these "exchanges" is that they had to check that I'd bought them from Apple via my Apple ID.

Here's my receipt;

My personal thoughts from what I've seen is that the 10.5 is better than the 9.7 in every aspect but the 12.9 is FAR better when dealing with split screen and multi tasking due to the larger size. Its nice that the keyboard is bigger on the 10.5 but having the screen real estate of the 12.9 is really nice.

I currently have the 9.7 Air 2 but I'm leaning towards the 12.9 in terms of another purchase. I like the portability of the 10.5 but the if I get the 12.9 and have the 9.7 Air 2, I had the best of both worlds.

I am not trading up from a 9.7" iPad; I'm filling a gap between the 12.9 that I use for work and the Mini 4. I'll reserve full judgment until iOS 11 is out, but so far I couldn't see myself trading up from a 9.7" Pro, with the deciding factor being split view implementation.

A most bizarre thing has happened on my 10.5. I've set up as a new iPad and am organising my apps but cannot see the Amazon app anywhere? When I search for it it's there but I can't see it to move it? Any ideas?
