Seems like a boasting exercise but I will indulge...
Quite possibly it is. :)
That's enough to make me think how much money folks like us have spent on this.
Ah see, that's the beauty of my 2003-2006 era computers

I paid $189 for my 17" PowerBook, $100 for my Quad PowerMac G5. My 2.3DC and 2.7 DP PowerMac G5s were free. My 2006 17" MBP was $169, my iPhone 4s was $20. My Thinkpad was $119.

I only paid full price for my iPhone 5, 6s+ and iPad Air 2.

iPhone 7 Plus 256GB, Ipad 10.5" 256GB, ATV 4, AW2 SS, 2011 MacBook, 2011 iMac, 2TB Time Capsule, iTunes Match plus Apple CarPlay in my BMW.

I love the Apple ecosystem but I refuse to pay £9.99 a month for Apple Music. If they reduce the price by 50% I will consider it.

This was one reason when I was on Facebook that I controlled who could see my personal information.

Facebook never had my address. None of the friends I had were people I didn't know and of the few I didn't know well they lived in different states or countries.

All anyone ever knew was the city I lived in. Those who knew me well already had my address.

My FB account was set to be unsearchable from the net and friends of friends could not post on my wall, let alone see it.

People get in trouble on Facebook not so much for oversharing, but for being dumb about their account settings.

All that aside, I left Facebook and deleted my account about six months ago. But not before running a script that deleted every photo I had ever posted.

It’s also very helpful that Apple supports the older tech for so long.
I think that depends on your viewpoint…:)

No support for my PowerBook G4s and PowerMac G5's any more. Not even for my 2006 MBP. Apple dropped me like a hot rock in 2012 when they made syncing with lightning devices a Intel Mac only option.

Me: iPhone 7+, iPhone SE, Late 2016 MBP, 2015 Apple Watch, 10.5” LTE iPad Pro 256, iPad Mini 4 LTE 32GB
Family’s stuff: iPhone 7+, Late 2015 15” MBP, 2015 12.9” iPad Pro, 128GB LTE, Apple Watch Series 2, iPhone 7, Retina MacBook late 2015, iPad Air 2, 128 Cellular, Apple Watch Series 1, iPhone 7, Retina MacBook 2016, iPad Pro 9.7” 128, Apple Watch Series II, iPhone 7, Retina MacBook 2015?, iPad Mini 4 LTE 64?, iPhone 7, MacBook Pro 13” (non-retina) 2012?, iPad Mini 4 LTE 64?, 2012 i7 Mac Mini, 2015 27” iMac 5K.
If someone came to rob me I’d hand it over because
1 phone. Any more than that, and my life starts to feel weighed down. Possessions are anchors.

I keep a spreadsheet. It's a lot. That said, I plan for big tech purchases. It tends to be the random little things that end up using a bigger chunk of the budget.

I've had a crap load of stuff in the past but the only Apple products I currently use are iPhone 7, MacBook Pro 2015, Airport Extreme and AirPods. Got rid of iPad's, Apple Watch and Apple TVs etc a couple of years ago.

iPhone 6 in silver
Apple Watch Series 1 in spacegrey
iPad Pro 10.5 in spacegrey
MacBook Pro Late 2013
Apple TV 3. Generation,

I see no need in upgrading the Macbook, iPad does all I need :)
Maybe a new iPhone next year…

6s from 2015, iPad 2 from 2011, and a iPod Nano 5th gen from 2010.

I'm not tied down to any particular eco-system. And that's the way I like it.

I recently picked up a Nano (7th gen) shortly after Apple axed it. I'm not sure why I did...my 5th gen is still used daily, esp. at night (listen to music as I drift to sleep), battery seems ok.

No way would my 6s be a worthy substitute for that use case - too big, having to charge it back up the next morning, etc. Guess I wanted a backup Nano...just in case.

My current devices:
iPhone 6 Plus 64GB, iPad Air 2 64GB, MacBook Pro late 2013, AirPort Extreme and Airport Express (as a network extender) Apple TV 3rd gen.
Wife:
iPhone 7 Plus 128GB, IPad Air 2 64GB.
Kids:
iPhone 5c's and IPad Mini's.

Active devices:

- iMac 27 inch 5k late 2015 with 256 SSD
- iMac 27 inch late 2013, base config
- MacBook Pro 2016 no Touch Bar, 256 GB
- iPad Pro 10.5 64 GB with smart cover and Apple Pencil
- iPhone 6s, space grey 16 GB
- Beats Solo 3 (do they count?)
- AirPods
- Apple TV 3

Some stored iOS devices that I never had the patience to sell:

- iPad 4, space grey 32 GB
- iPad 3, white 32 GB
- iPod classic 2006, 30 GB
- iPod classic 2012 (the very last one), 160 GB
- iPod touch 2010, 32 GB

I'll be adding the iPhone 8 or iPhone 7s Plus to the active devices (still undecided)

I'm all in in Apple's ecosystem with the notable exception of my email account. I use an Outlook email address as my personal account and an Office 365 as my university address.
I do not plan on changing this anytime soon. Apple ecosystem works wonders for me.

My current set up comprises of the following:

MacBook Pro Retina 2012

iPad Pro 12.9 128GB 2015

iPhone 7 Plus 256GB

Apple TV 4 64GB

However, I’ve been toying around with non Apple products this year.

Currently, I’ve got Google Homes, Chromecasts and Chromecast audio’s around the house (I tried Amazon Echo’s before then but returned all but one Echo dot to keep for testing). I also just sold on this years Nvidia Shield to make way for the 4K Apple TV (I just sold my 600+ strong Blu-Ray collection and went 100% in on iTunes because of iTunes Extras and the ease of access).

As far as Home Automation, I tried Samsung SmartThings and it sucked. I’m now waiting for Apple HomeKit to mature in the UK as I’ve more belief in Apple’s quality control over Samsungs. I’ve got hue lighting throughout the house but want to add door and window sensors, provided I can just ask if all doors and windows are shut and get a call back from my assistant of choice, be it Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant to tell which, if any, need shutting.

I’m interested in AirPlay 2 but I’ve heard nothing about whether video and audio will still be dependant on your iOS/ MacOS device... Even if it is the case that it can be independent, I’m thinking with regard to Google Home and Chromecast, if it works, it works, however, I’m open to the idea of the HomePod provided there’s a way of connecting external sources somehow or I’ll stick to my denon avr and speakers (although I’d like to downsize without compromising on quality).

By far my purchase of 2017 has been Google WiFi. It does what I need and blows away any Wifi I’ve had before.

The end to the year will be an interesting one. I’ll be sure to purchase an iPhone Edition, HomePod (or two) and maybe given the Apple Watch another try, however, I just enjoy learning about consumer tech through usage and luckily that helps with my profession.

God knows if this is helpful to anyone but those are my proverbial 2 cents haha

iPhone 6, iPad 2017, MacBook Air late 2013 model, Apple TV 4. All connected to the same iCloud account and linked via wifi to my home network and NAS drive.

- iPad Air 2
- iPhone 6 with AirPods
- AppleTV 4 for AirPlay

My little classic corner:

- White MacBook
- White iMac G5 20" iSight
- White iPod 1G and various others

iPhone 6 Plus (mine)
iPhone 6 Plus (wife)
iPhone 5s (son)
27" iMac (2013)
Apple TV (3rd generation)
IPad mini2
IPad Air (wife)
Apple Watch series 2 (wife)
