Yes, I'll be getting my first one when my current contract expires. I'm hoping they open it up to other carriers at that time. Come on Verizon/Sprint! *crosses fingers*

I'll be getting one.

I skipped over the 3GS as my 18 month 3G contract has only just expired (January). Might as well wait and get a 4th gen one... Really hoping it's a big update. One of those A4 iPad chips in it would be a bit nice ;) lol

I am, just because whenever a new iPhone comes out. since the 3G. I've felt I need to keep up. Great products. Whether it has multitasking or not. I'm still getting it since I know a jailbreak will come out and multitasking.....done.

I was about to stop getting iPhones due to that, until I did my first jailbreak 4 months ago I haven't turned back. Even though it kills battery, I look at it like a Kia Spectra is good on gas, a porsche 911 isn't. We have the Porsche of phones it seems ;). I'm no fanboy, simply stating these products work very well and less battery life is expected. Yep new iPhone here I come.

I really like my 3gs, and although I've only had it for a few months, i'd be fine with selling it and spending a little more for the upgraded model. Im really just wanting it for a faster processor and more ram which will hopefully make the gps run a little smoother. I could really care less if they add more storage space since I don't have anywhere near enough music to take up a quarter of the space I currently have. I hate most of the music out these days. If it wasn't for a bump in hardware specs, I wouldn't get one because everything else could be taken care of with an update.

If they can get AT&T to offer the iPad's data plan, then I will get my first iPhone. But I seriously doubt that will happen.

I get the newest iphone every year no matter what. So hell yea i am to be waiting in line for the next one. I hope it going to be bad@ss to keep up with the other smartphone. Im sure apple going to make the new iphone way better than just adding video camera and a compass.

I've had a thread that was called pointless, but I think this beats that.

New iPhone in June? When? How much? With which operator? What's the device gonna be like? What will the competition offer then?

But just in case...

Something really drastic has to be introduced, otherwise I'm going either Android or iPod Touch. For phone calls, I already use my Nokia 6300 instead of my iPhone just to save battery life. Also, faster processors are needed, especially, if developers start designing for a 10" tablet.

i think they will definately offer 1ghz speed like the tablet just to keep things consistent for the developers. And with speeds in that range, it wouldn't make sense for multitasking not to be there. Dual facing cameras would also be nice.

Just a quick reminder to all people who bought a 3G/3GS after the 3GS was released.

You will not be able to buy a new iPhone at the discounted price because you have not fulfilled your first 2 year contract. Only those with monthly bills of $100+ on individual (not family) plans will be able to get it a half discounted price after 18 months (as in $399 and $499). (Oct-Dec timeframe)

So if you have a 3GS (or got a 3G after June) and plan to get a new iPhone this June/July... YOU WILL only have the option of paying full price for it (as in $599 & $699). You have been warned. AT&T is not charity.

This has always been the policy... however, people think they are entitled new iPhone yearly at discounts... wrong, read your contract well, there in fine prints, everything is stated.

I think I found the perfect 3Gs. I'll just be waiting for that OS update and changed UI interface. Hopefully 4.0 won't make my 3Gs sluggish.

Switching from Verizon to AT&T. This site's buying guide said a new one is due in the summer, so I'm waiting to then.

I'm doing the same. I was going to wait until the new iPhone comes out, but it's really related to when my current Verizon contract expires -- either May or June, not sure...

I haven't been able to get one due to a work contract, but that ends in May, so I'll be picking one up for sure!!

I have a 16 GB Gen 1 iPhone, I am in need of a new one! It has been a good 2 years, but I am ready for an upgrade.

I'll only get one if there is a major change, I currently have an iPhone 3Gs 32gb and a blackberry 9700 with a 16gb mini SD. If the HTC DESIRE is better i'll stick with that, but then again will see what happens when the next iPhone comes out......

More than likely I will be getting the new iPhone. I really didn't see much reason at all to get the 3Gs, but the next iPhone should yield more improvements that will make it a more appreciable difference.

I'll be line and ready to buy a new one on the 1st day its released. My current 3g iphone has a huge crack in the glass screen. Lots of other lil issues, and I figure its about time for an upgrade.

I can't vote because I do not know the features and specs of the next iPhone. If it's the same design as the 3GS, I'll pass. If they switch to OLED and change the case, I might consider it.

i don't understand why everyone is so gung ho about oled. i had a nexus one that i just returned. yes, oled is cool indoors but you basically cannot use it in the sun. Yes, you can turn up the display, but since the only way to do that is by using the touchscreen and clicking through menus or going to a widget on another screen, you are basically not able to adjust the display unless you have the location memorized. I prefer the iphone's screen to the nexus one's oled.

According to att.com, they're willing to let me upgrade right now (though I already have a 3GS) at the subsidized price. So what I'll probably end up doing is upgrading whenever the new one comes out and then selling my current phone to my brother (who has a 3G & isn't eligible for an upgrade until mid-2011). And if they decide that they won't let me upgrade at the subsidized price, I'll either hang onto my 3GS and wait (if the upgrade's nothing major) or--if the upgrade is indeed an A+ one-- will look into selling elsewhere and then upgrade.
