Yes, I miss Flash
Yesterday, I used video Skype to walk my mother through her first computer experience... on an iPad that I sent her for her 85th birthday.
Well, we quickly found out that the iPad isn't as intuitive as us younger people think!

I'll write more about her experience later, but one of the first places she went to on Safari was to see family pictures on Flickr's website.
When she tried clicking "slideshow", up came a big alert about needing to download Flash. (Yeah, you try explaining why Apple's magical device couldn't do what my fathers' old laptop can do.)
Okay, so we'll have to get a Flickr app and teach her how to use that. It wasn't exactly the most impressive demonstration though.
Then there's the whole need for a mothership computer for OS updates and other iTunes related nonsense.
Android slates are going to be tempting alternative devices, not the least because of Flash.
That said, she's loving it.
