My bill just dropped another $5 and should remain at $26/month now. I’m on a Verizon prepaid plan. Unlimited talk/text. 5GB data. I love the price of this plan. My former post paid plan had the exact same UL talk/text and 5GB data but cost $60/month. The prepaid plan drops in price incrementally from $40 to $26 over the course of 9 months by giving a loyalty discount and another $5 off for auto pay. And Verizon’s coverage is the best in the West. 😁

I had ATT 5gb per month plan with rollover minutes. It recently went up from $67 to $72 per month. That’s when I decided to look for something cheaper.

Ended up going to:

ATT Prepaid $300/year which comes out to $25 a month for unlimited talk and text 8 gb per month high speed with a bonus 8 per month. So 16 gb per month high speed data.

Update: I’ve had a chance to really check out service for 6 weeks now with this pre-paid plan. Matching up against my husband’s post paid plan - same service and speed wherever I have checked the phones against each other. We will likely switch him over as well. Quite a cost savings for us.

T-Mobile Prepaid:
  • $15 per month
  • Unlimited talk / text
  • 3GB of data (hard cap, but the data allowance increases by 500mb each year until finally reaching an allowance of 4.5GB per month)

15 Euros / month w unlimited talk / 20GB 5G flat rate

would be 30 Euros, but it's 50% off as i already have my home internet from the same provider.

I was paying $50 (including taxes) with T-Mobile, just switched to Mint Mobile and I'm paying $7.50 a month for the next year, got a special deal buying my 13 mini with them and paying for a year's service (6 months free), unlimited calls/text. Went with the 4GB data plan because after looking over my T-Mobile unlimited data plan, I rarely ever went over 3GB. But if I go beyond 4GB of data it's still unlimited just slowed to 2G speeds. After that if I buy another year it will be $15 a month. Mint uses T-Mobile's towers so my coverage is the same, I just don't get domestic roaming. So far I'm liking Mint.

How much do you pay for your monthly bill and what do you get for your money?

Rogers-
Unlimited text (picture and video)
700 minutes (Unlimited after 9pm and weekends)
Caller Display
Voicemail
500 MB Data plan
$41.98 per month.

That's all I can think of right now. I don't think I'm forgetting anything.

What about you guys?
I live in Canada,
In this country, We have the Highest wireless data carrier rates in the world. Prices are from $150-175 a month, for a unlimited data package with features that are available in most other countries for 50$ or below. Prices are beyond ridiculous as everyone is "expected" to have a phone by todays standards.

So that being said,
I don't have a new iPhone. My last model was the 5S. My first was the 2G then 3G.

Those are some crazy prices. Is there no competition? Or are all carriers the same and form alliances to keep prices so high? We have that in many areas of the US when it comes to internet providers for the homes. They usually have one provider to choose from and thus super high pricing. My cable/internet bill is the highest monthly bill.

I’m from Canada and I pay CAD$60 before tax for 41GB »unlimited » 5G plan with unlimited phone calls SMS etc in Canada + tablet plan included and 6 months of Disney+ free.
it is a « loyalty« plan offer. I’m with Rogers.

Canadian carriers treat data like gold. I'm in Canada on a Rogers work plan. All-in with two data tiers -- under 6GB/month is $25; over 6GB/month jumps to $85 but then it's unlimited max-speed. Still rockin' an iPhone 11 (non-Pro) but will probably upgrade to the 14 later this fall.

Verizon - $101
2 lines 8GB data + 8GB bonus
Unlimited Talk/Text

Price is what it is I guess but here in Montana VZW has the better coverage. 90% of the time we’re on Wi-Fi so the data is enough to get us by

Now that my 11 Pro Max is paid off my monthly bill is super low for South Africa, lol.
R255pm ($14.92)

No benefits, I use the credit to buy data bundles, usually buy the 60GB (2GB a day limit) bundle.

I have uncapped fibre at my place (200Mbps up and down) and uncapped at work. So I only use the 60GB when I am out and about, barely if ever hit the 2GB daily limit.

Yes,
The prices are crazy high. It was on a news special the other night, I had no idea in places like France and Australia you could get the same kind of plan that we pay over $150.00 a month for, for near $15 dollars in those places (or in some cases, less.)

The problem is we have only 2 major companies that make and manage Cell Phone towers across Canada and share them, and low population in metropolitan areas. For example, in my city we have about 1.5 Million People, and it's considered to be the Capital City of my province, and yet, It's the place where housing is the cheapest in the country. Cell phone carrier prices however, have remained stagnant and the two Competitors (Rogers, and Telus) match each others offerings in a very nearly anti-competitive way. They use the excuse that its more expensive to place infrastructure in Canada due to the varied geography and low metro populations.

It a cop out excuse if I've ever heard of one. It costs them pennies on the dollar to provide 5G Tower services in my town.

I was an avid iPhone user in the past when plans were about $80.00 for the highest end 6GB Data-package plans on my 4S at the time.
I used iPhones for many years from 2007 to 2016, And now I have retired from the Smartphone scene and am living a more peaceful, and connective lifestyle without being connected by a mobile phone service.

It sorta sucks, As I was a very busy IT guy in the past with my iPhones, making great use of them. But I can't accept these costs. Even if I have the money, It doesn't make sense for me to bow down and support this vulture industry.

Nowadays the vast majority of decent Mobile plans in Canada cost between $30-$60. At least here in Quebec. These plans can offer up to 20-25GB sometimes and it’s enough to 95% of people. I just checked the Rogers website and the highest plan cost $160 for 100GB but honestly who really need that much for their phone? For exemple I pay $60 for 41GB and that’s way more than I really ever need.

My plan includes unlimited internet, talk, SMS and unlimited sharing hotspot plan. In my country (Turkey), Vodafone has really good plans and it's really cheap. I'm paying 207 Turkish Lira (12$) monthly.

Yes but these discount plans are first of all, extremely traffic-shaped, and throttled. And worst of all, They don't report to Transunion/Equifax, the two Credit Agencies in Canada which provide consumers with a credit rating and history. That means none of your payment history counts towards enhancing a beginners credit rating so that they may obtain a car loan or mortgage at a lower rate when they need it.

There is more to this, But I'll leave it at that. These 160$ Plans from Rogers and Telus DO report to the Credit Agencies and DO enhance your overall rating, The cheap plans, Not so much.

In Canada you cant have it all, unfortunately.

There's also more affordable plans from Rogers and Telus as well. What I mean is, I perfectly know we pay way too much in Canada, but I think the majority of us have plans around $60 from Rogers/Bell/Telus. I don't know for other companies, but I do see my Rogers account on Equifax and I also saw my old Telus account there as well and I never paid more than $60 for a cell plan.

But again, I agree. We pay way too much.

My bill has gone up so much since the thread started, I had to change my response to the poll! ($94 vs about $65)
Same for me. It's a little over two hundred now. Forgot to look at my last vote before I changed. But then again it all depends what you have. We have the following:

VZW
Play More Unlimited $45
3x Start Unlimited $35.
$150
Then there's taxes and fees and the installment plans.
Wonder if it would be better to change to the Welcome one or is that only new subs?
And even though no one has ever had an issue with Start, I wonder if Welcome is depried even worse.
And then we would need to actually pay for the included things with Play More that we still want

Agree. It should be a law for utilities to report good payments and not only when you default.

£20 per month (O2).

Unlimited calls and texts to UK
100GB 5G data
Cheap calls to a number of other countries

You pay a lot more for phone plans in the US. I've never come anywhere close to using 100GB in a month on my mobile phone, so it's effectively limitless as far as I'm concerned.

We were warned prior to Brexit that carriers could start charging for EU roaming charges again, and most carriers are indeed doing this now. My carrier does not.

All carriers now cheekily increase prices by inflation plus a few percent each year. Make sure that once your contract is up, complain and they will drop the price / give you more data. Losing a customer is bad news for a carrier.

I’m in Canada on a Telus plan - 45GB of 5G data, unlimited nationwide calling, text, visual voicemail, etc. I pay $67.50 with discount. Not sure if I consider it cheap, but I don’t think it’s outrageous either.

I’m in Manitoba and I know we have some of the cheapest plans in the country. So that could also be a factor.
