Wife and I are with Fido (Canada - Rogers network) with the same iPhone plan:

$56/month (each)
Unlimited Canada wide minutes
Unlimited SMS/MMS (International)
2GB Data + tethering
Caller ID, Name Display, Who Called
iPhone Visual Voice Mail

Even though we get 2GB data each, my wife only uses 100-200MB a month and I average 400-600MB per month; we have wifi at work and home.

Man isn't it crazy that is like a car payment? I had $250.00 before my older son left my plan and I thought that was a lot, you are in the same situation as my brother in-law, they have 5 smart phones at $40 per is $200.00 and another $100 for their data plan, so he is at $300.00 for 5 phones?

I think the carriers need to lower the cost of the plans, we all know they make a ton of money, but what is driving their costs up is the iPhone, to me I do not see where they even make money because every 2 years they give you a discounted price, just doesn't seem like it is worth the headache for them, and they pass it on to us.

Using the Verizon Share Everything plan this way is actually saving everyone money. 2 of the iPhones are for me and my wife. We were already sharing 6GB between 2 phones. We decided to put everyone else on our plan to save them money. The other 3 iPhones are our parents...and then the 2 basic phones are her grandparents.

They are all saving a lot of money (especially on data) and they even pay a little more than their share so that my wife and I can save money on our bill, too. But still...it's a lot of money.

I hear ya on this, had my mom on my plan bc she was paying $60.00 per month for 120 minutes, and looks like my dad will be getting on ours too, although not sure how he will handle a smartphone, will have to find a really easy one for him to use, right now he is on my stepsisters but they are moving

Just curious, does the UK/Europe offer unlimited data plans?

Yes many networks do, but at high prices. The cheapest are 3 and Tmobile. Im on Tmobile full monty with an iPhone 5 which is £35 a month with unlimited calls, texts and data! :) :apple:

How much do you pay for the insurance (on the 5's, I'm presuming...)?

That's amazing! How???

Let me tell you though the pricing in the Us and Canada really surprised me. I thought it'd be cheaper like Internet is. I wonder why that is

EDIT I think it'd be useful if the people here who got special pricing to mention how they managed to get those plans so other people may be able to gain some useful info :)

If you think my plan is amazing, you should see Bell's Thunder Bay-specific plan (which just expired last month).

Anyhow, Fido had this promo for the plan we're on from mid December 2012 till the first week of January, so my wife and I took advantage, signed up and each got an iPhone 5.

I'm also a little surprised at how high some of the Ameri-plans posted here are. It definitely used be the other way around, we used to only dream of what they had south of the border. But prices have declined up here over the last 12 months.

Got to be in India
