Unlimited Canada Wide Calling
Unlimited Can/US/International Text and Picture Messaging
5GB Data
Caller ID
Voice Mail

49.50 + tax

1000 minutes
Unlimited texts
3 gigs of data
£8(normally is £16 but I got it half off on Black Friday)
I think the us are being ripped off. I'm paying $12-$24 for this!

$210 for 4 lines. 700 min plus any mobile calling and 10 landlines (essentially unlimited minutes) unlimited family texts. Unlimited data on all 4 lines (throttles after 5gb).

That's $210 AFTER taxes! So $52.50 per line. Plus I get a subsidy worth $450 per line every 24 months.

So my costs are really around $34/month per line after taxes and subsidies are factored in. I get a 24% hospital discount.

Just me
Iphone 5S
Unlimited calling
Unlimited text
Unlimited data

My bill is now Free
Love It!

I use two plans at the moment:

First one:
10€ for 1GB of data
Nothing else. 1 minute or text costs 9 eurocent. But I use none, so 0€
It's enough for me, and the benefit of using this plan is that I have multiple numbers including a landline number which is pretty neat.

Second one:
5GB of data ( for tablet and tethering) for 0€

Additionally, I'm using a VOIP service for occasional calls and texts where I pay approximately 2€ a month.

In short, I'm paying 12€ for 6GB data and a few minutes and texts.

My Plan

All of it for $50.

thanks for sharing your experiences. what kind of ping rates do you see? is it really that noticeable a lag?

i'm guessing my wife won't notice since this would be her first smartphone experience anyway. :)

my iphone5 is an AT&T GSM, so she will likely see higher rates, but again, i think she'd be satisfied with what you are experiencing.

Pings are 150 to 400 ms. so don't try playing Modern Combat 4 over cellular. Other than a game where to want a super low ping, you don't notice it. I've also never exceeded 500mb of data over so i'm using the cheapest plan. But even if i go over, they just throttle you down to edge speed.

sounds like the perfect plan for my wife.

thanks! $35/mo seems like a great deal with the autopay option.

I'm paying $150 per month for 5 lines on the AT&T mobile share value plan. Taxes are $2.71 per line on top of that. I've got a 25% FAN discount, but it only applies to the data portion(without that, my bill would be $175 per month.)

Several people on my plan only use their subsidy when their phone dies, so overall this saves us all money.

I'll be paying out of pocket for my phone upgrades, but now that I can actually see a benefit to keeping a phone past 2 years, I'll very likely do so.

AT&T Family Plan
10GB Shared Data
Unlimited Talk
Unlimited Text
Total Monthly Bill = $210
Divided by 7 lines

= $30 a month :D

(that's with a 25% discount for being a hospital employee)

its only my 3rd month with at&t. i currently have:

450min of talk
unlimited m2m texting
3gb data
%15 student discount
$10 off discount for 12 months

comes out to be about $75 a month.
but i have been getting them to give me a credit for my bill. my first bill was $66 and my second bill was $55 ... only reason i got credited was because my past bills were $95 before. so i called them and told them that it should be lower than that. so they were nice enough to credit me :) but this months bill should be $75 :)

$275.38
Three cellular lines, one home phone line with AT&T.
• 1 iPhone 5s, • 2 iPhone 4s' [one 4 is unlimited data, but is the least used (<100MB a month, it's a shame but meh).

Home phone line - $13.31
5s line - $89.30 (Including $20 overage for 2GB over the 5GB limit, so $69.30 is what it should be)
4 line - $43.31
2nd 4 line - $129.46 (main number with FamilyTalk Nation 700 plan)

Also this doesn't include a corporate 8% discount as this information is from the website and the 8% comes off the actual paper bill we receive. $253.35 would be the adjusted total.

how is this working for you? what kind of speeds do you see? does Visual voice mail work?

thinking of passing on my iPhone 5 when my contract (and the phone can be unlocked) is up to my wife and getting her AIO or Straight talk since she's a light user.
Check out h2o wireless too, they have a 500 mb plan with unlimited talk and text plus $5 international talk credit for $30, $27 with auto bill

Old AT&T family plan - 2 phones with 450 voice mins with rollover, unlimited text, unlimited data: $114 per month.

Verizon Loyalty plan: $60.00 month - 2 GB/unlimited calling, and text = $1,440 for 2 years not including taxes

I think to be fair comparison, post should also indicate the TRUE cost of what a new phone would be. I mean, even if you stick with the Tmobile or ATT's new low cost plan, but then you get a new phone every two year, your true saving might not be as great as your post makes out to be. I think it's only fair to also add how much you would expect to pay. Unless all of you can stay that you don't get a new phone every two year (which is extremely difficult for most macrumers or tech savvy people).

So our first bill on the new ATT 10GB plan ended up being $99 this month.
Not sure where they came up with this number since we opted for change at start of billing cycle, but I wont argue.

Here is what I had been paying before with 4 iPhone lines on AT&T:

2-Year Contract
Monthly Plan Cost: $240
2-Year Plan Cost: $5,760
Upfront Cost (iPhone 32GB): $299*4=$1,196
Upgrade Fee: $36*4=$144
Total 2-Year Cost: $7,100

Here's what I'd pay with the new plans:

AT&T Next 12
Monthly Plan Cost: $160
2-Year Plan Cost: $3,840
Device Cost (iPhone 32GB): $749*4=$2,996
Total 2-Year Cost: $6,836

That's a total savings of just $264 or $66 per line but it's still lower than what I'm paying now. Since two of the lines on the account don't care about upgrades, I'd actually end up saving more.

The math isn't hard, as rui no onna just posted, he'll save a couple hundred dollars every 2 years. I found that I saved almost $450 every 2 years on my account with 5 lines. Additionally, if any of the phones don't need to be upgraded at the 2 year point, that is even more money in my pocket.

Here are my numbers:

2-Year Contract
Monthly Plan Cost: $279.96
2-Year Plan Cost: $6719.04
Upfront Cost (iPhone 16GB): $199*5=$995
Upgrade Fee: $36*5=$180
Total 2-Year Cost: $7894.04

Here's what I'd pay with the new plans:

AT&T Next 12
Monthly Plan Cost: $175
2-Year Plan Cost: $4200
Device Cost (iPhone 32GB): $649*5=$3245
Total 2-Year Cost: $7445

Thanks, for the input. I understand that the math is certainly not difficult. But I feel that by simply posting just the "monthly cost" is rather misleading (though not on purpose), should some unfamiliar discovery this thread and use this as the base of he/her calculation.
