My iPad mini arrived this morning. I'm a little underwhelmed at the starlight colour. For me its definitely not as yellow/gold as the images on the apple website make out. I was hoping it to be a more champagne colour however when I've sat it next to my MacBook Air which is silver you can barely tell the difference between the two.
I've only noticed a slight difference in colours when you place it on certain surfaces, when the sides are in a shadow there's a more neutral colour tint to it.

Love the Mini! Its perfect for me as I found my previous iPad too large for what I wanted.

Hope you all enjoy yours!

Being a fan of silver I won't be too disappointed I guess. But given the press shots I was looking forward to a new colour, really liked the washed out stone look it seemed to have.

These colours all seem like they're relatively dull, which is disappointing. In Federico Viticci's review he had the purple, and he was quite disappointed with how dull it was and in many angles just looked like silver.

I get their hesitancy to avoid bright colourful colours on the larger iPads. But the mini would have been fun if it was given, say the new iMac colours. Bright red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Could have made for some really fun options, marketing, etc.

I've kind of ranted about this many times, but even if the iPads don't get fun colours, why can't they have a nice variety of bright colours for the covers/folios? I miss those early iPad days when we had bright and colourful smart covers.

Also got mine.

Depending on the light it is either a washed out gold or a silver with a slight gold hue.

It's okay, but a bit more boring than expected.

Sadly the folio did not arrive yet. Will have to wait for next week to see if i like the black/starlight combo.

But the screen is very bright and colorful. Now the colors on my 12 Mini feel a bit weak...
(Truetone disabled on both) But that screen was always a tad yellowish. Tried to exchange, but they were all the same.

I do agree. I'd love a larger colour selection with bold, weird and wonderful creations but I think Apple decide to play it safe.

I'm on the fence whether I'd like the bold colours. I got the iPhone 12 Pro and its great, I went with the blue but that colour doesn't work with other colour phone cases very well. Some it complements but other not.

I think Apple go with the different colours but make them more plain so they it leaves the door open for any case colour combination.
Looking at the Mini and the Mini folios I think you could put any Mini in any folio case and it would work.

I don't hate Starlight at all but its left me craving a little more

I was just at the store to see all the colors of the mini. Starlight to me is a very light champagne color but can look more silver depending on the light and angle. I am glad to keep my purple mini which is now out for delivery :)

Holding it away from the normal daylight, darker environment, it is really a very soft gold/champagne like color. Against the normal daylight it looks like a warmer silver color. Like any Apple colors nowadays it depends on the light situation you are currently in/at. It is a shade of two to three colors. Nice imo.

Looked like a light parchment to me in the Apple Store today. Shiny un-hued chrome on edges ruins it. Looks too gaudy.
Surprised the Mini purple looked pretty decent (approachable), I didn't but salesman thought it was the Space Grey until we compared it to the actual SG.

Apple salespeople are the worst. Most of them are hired based on appearance alone.

Just got my Starlight iPad mini. The color is subtle but definitely has a gold accent. More silver than yellow gold though.

You'd be surprised how challenging it is to get a job at Apple; even an entry level sales position. You have to go through 5 separate interviews...

A comparison to mini5 in silver. Next to the silver, it takes a touch, I mean a touch of golden hue. On its own it’s like a dark silver with a touch champagne color in different angles to the like of being a pearlescent color shift.
