Fantastic battery life today. Loving it!
Edit: forgot to add that was at 50% left.

Between my iPhone 7 Plus and now newly upgraded iPhone X, I get around 7-8 hours of battery life with iOS 11.
With iOS 10 on my 7 plus I was would have 10+ hours with ease. Maybe for some here iOS 11 has been great but it has been awful for me battery life wise.
Hello all! I've been reading through this forum and I've been having questionable battery life on my X.
Here's some background: I received the phone on launch day and I set it up as a new phone (I expected the battery to have to settle in but it hasn't changed much for me.) I have only a small, core amount of apps I keep on my phone, and I usually keep the screen brightness on the lower end at the bottom of the sun design.
I'm not what you would call a "power user" I'm usually using Messages mainly, checking Twitter and Instagram about once an hour and occasionally on Snapchat and every now and then checking emails.
I updated from a 7+ and would regularly get between 8 and 9 hours of us usage with a standby of 22hrs-1 day+
I've been disappointed with the battery life on the X, getting on the lower end of 6 hours of usage when I get to 1% with standby of about 14-16 hours. This isn't bad but it isn't great as I do have longer than usual days with school and work and I travel often with long days on the go with really no access to charge.
I miss the battery life on my 7+ because it seems like it would be better at managing how I use my phone. I could wake up and leave my house around 7am, use it on a heavier than usual basis say on a Friday for work and school, then meet friends out at happy hour around 5:30p with about 60-70% remaining.
I know this message is tedious but could it be there are some faults in certain batteries? I don't use bluetooth, usually I'm on wifi, background app refresh is off, mail fetch is off, app updates are manual.
I'm thinking a trip to Apple is nextbut I don't like being that paranoid iPhone user always at the Genius Bar.
I pretty much stopped checking battery life and started to just plop it onto one of my 2 wireless chargers whenever I'm sitting around the house. But with normal use I can get over 8-10 hours of use over an 18 hour day without touching my iPad (but while using my apple watch for Siri and Notifications - I have "Hey Siri" turned off when my phone is locked).
I've gone 10 hours of use over 22+ hours before. However, if I have my iPhone X in-hand and constantly use it for on screen app usage without putting it down, then I can run it down in 7-8 hours with 8-9 hours of standby. I'd guess if playing games or actively using GPS I could kill it in 6 hours like in the videos I've seen on YouTube, but I don't use it like that.
I have not turned off animations or used low power mode, unless I get a low power warning and then I might if I'm not about to go to bed and charge soon.
Things I do to save battery. (1) Keep the screen dark or dim - I don't like to invert screen colors most of the time, so I keep brightness below 10-20% with a normal screen. I can go well over 10+ hours with 18 hours of standby if I'm mostly reading an eBook with a black background and white text, and I answer calls and texts with my Apple Watch. If using the X for phone calls on speaker then I sleep the screen (it also turns off when holding it to an ear). I have not tested call with blue tooth on all day (I hate stuff in my ears).
(2) I'm mostly using Safari browser for Facebook and Youtube, until the app developers get their act together. If you use these apps keep location and background app refresh off, and force quit the apps when not using them. I'll use the apps if I know I have a charger nearby.
(3) I have push mail on for hotmail and my two iCloud accounts. I have manual fetch for the other email accounts.
(4) I turned off background app refresh for about 200 of my apps (esp Facebook), but I still have it turned on for 82 of my apps - including but not limited to 1password, amazon, amazon music, xfinity connect, dropbox, ebay, fandango, fantastical, flickr, gmail, google maps, healthmate, ibooks, instagram, kindle, macID, maps, messenger, misfit, movies anywhere, news, next-door, nook, notes, outlook, pinterest, flex, podcasts, pockemon go, Ring, Skype, snapchat, spotify, starbucks, Subaru Starlink, weather channel, twitter, venmo. wave, weather, yelp, youtube (I use the app when plugged in).
(5) I have set "Location" to "When Using" for almost everything, except for having it "Always On" for Xfinity Connect, Phillips Hue, and Tile. I do have Find my Friends turned on all the time as well.
I did check it most recently about 5 days ago, and was at 51% after almost 14 hours of standby with 5.5 hours of use:

Thank you so much! You're a ROCKSTAR!
Haha good one! Here are my run down for today still have 5% left! Very heavy usage! All location services turned on!Thx. Note - Autocorrect changed Nextdoor to next-door, PLEX to flex, and WAZE to wave.
So I've used the tips I've seen and received to this original post but nonetheless, after a week my battery life seems to be just as bad. Still getting on the lower end of 6 hours, one or two days it did go past 7 hours+ of usage.
I took the phone to Apple and contacted AppleCare and both representatives said that my battery is fine and healthy. It just boggles my mind that there are such varying results for battery life. I sadly miss my 7+ and how reliable the battery was on it. Could it be iOS 11? I'm hoping 11.2 brings some major fixes to battery life.
I know everyone uses their phones differently but I can say that my use is conservative and the core group of apps that I use are nowhere near what others may have. I also have about 80 photos on my phone, I have about 22 apps NOT including the Apple defaults and use maybe Messages, Twitter and Instagram the most. Conservatively, checking maybe 2-3 times per hour. My brightness is always low and I don't have bluetooth or any other service on that's roaming.
This past weekend I went to a College football game and we began tailgating around 9am so my phone was off the charger at 8:30am and by the time the game ended at 7:30pm, I had about 26% remaining. Now this was with a little bit extra usage due to photos and some video but nothing that would be extreme. It was a test for me for some upcoming traveling I'll be doing and I'm not feeling too optimistic.
I feel defeated. I love the iPhone X and the features it brings.. but maybe it isn't cut out for me.
everyone who have 9hours or more are using battery saving mode all over the time or listen to music.

Is it joke?currently
4 hours, 46 mins usage
8 hours standby

Pretty Good! do you always have AT&T wifi call on?Mine didn’t charge on the wireless pad last night. I put it on the edge of the pad.
Woke up with 10% this AM. Rapid charged with 30w USB-C to 84% in 1 hour before heading out for my root canal.

Same for me on my 8 plus. 100-99% takes ages. I wonder if it drops like a stone under 50% or something.I got 2 hours of usage and at 87%. Watched an iTunes movie for 30 minutes of that. It does do a lot better for awhile after 100% charge and not as good as I move farther away from full charge.
That is the best so far for me.
No low power mode, just normal settings and letting it run down while barely using it this weekend. Came off the charger yesterday morning, and after being left unplugged over night it was at 6:26/21:15 at 10AM with 67% left.
Now 4 hours later at 7h:21m usage with 25h:06m standby at 60% - I've only made about 10 minutes of phone calls, taken a few photos and done 5-10 iMessages with it. Most everything else was done with my Apple Watch LTE (which was at 71% at bedtime) or my Kindle eBook reader. (edited picture sizes to 20%)
...snip...
Pretty impressive and outstanding usage time!Still on normal settings and no low power mode, once the battery was down to about 33% at 8PM (from 44% at 5:30PM) I added about 3.5 hours of eBook reading in the Kindle app to run it down faster. It dropped to 10% over the next 4 hours by midnight.
With my phone off the charger since Saturday morning I'm now at 14h:0m Usage with 35h:30m Standby at 10% remaining.
