6hrs 33mins of usage and 13hrs 18 mins standby, I’m at 14% now.
True Tone + auto brightness on.

Quite honestly the battery life is not stellar, but good to make it through the day with what I would call a pretty heave usage. Certainly a huge improvement over my previous 6 which had to be charged during the day (sometimes even twice).

battery life is stellar on the X. A lot better than my 6s plus. Its actually really hard to deplete for me. I have been getting 6hr30mins of usage by 50%. I have made tweaks to my location settings and app background refresh. Remember facebook is app background refresh is killer.

So far looking at 8-9 hours of usage. Today is a bit different, 1:30 of usage since I unplugged, and still at 93% battery (Wifi off as usual, and I left BT on by accident as well!)

That's pretty insane!

BT uses almost no battery, you really don't need to worry about toggling that on/off.

Just curious, did you restore from a backup?

Just to chime in - I’m getting same crap battery life as these guys. 7.5 hours and it’s dead, doesn’t last all day. I set up as new phone and did not restore from a backup.

Same as to what Geezy2 mentioned, mine was setup as a new phone as well. If it helps it's one of the Intel version, bought it from T-mobile.

I’m experiencing similar battery life performance as I did on my 7 Plus, Not great nor bad.

Guys I have a technical question, I’ve been suspecting this for some time but not sure if it makes sense so I figured I’ll ask here, could a surge protector of low quality(no brand name) which my iPhone’s charger is connected into cause my iPhone to not charge properly and cause damage to the iPhone’s battery in the long term? Or as long as the charger is properly working and charging my iPhone I should assume the surge protector is good? The other devices connected to the surge protector have been functioning fine for a long time.

Thx. I restored from a backup so I was ready to blame that but you’re getting the same crappy battery life after setting it up as new. Mine is the AT&T version that I bough from Apple so I assume it’s the Intel version as well.

Took it off the charger yesterday morning around 6:30AM PST

Usage: 8 hours 11 minutes
Standby: 34 hours 6 minutes

45% left as of 4:30PM PST

That’s amazing. I’m at 10% with usage of 7 hours and 21 minutes, standby 11 hours 57 minutes.

What apps are you using?

Same here with AT&T version bought from Apple.

It might be useful if we start posting screenshots of the battery usage so people can see how much battery certain apps are using. I would post mine but the numbers aren’t valid because I charged my phone in the car on the way home from work.

3:37 usage today
11:53 standby by 8PM
75% battery left

Mostly used for phone calls and iMessage, with a couple of photos taken and one visit to Facebook - most of my Siri activity and notifications were on the AW S3 LTE connected to my X.

At 60%. Mostly web browsing and texting today.

Brightness is set to auto/around 50%
bluetooth on all the time never switch it off
True tone off
location services always on
background refresh off

No only a 7 plus. Feel your pain as my 7 plus did get worse when I downloaded IOS 11 for sure. When I got my x I charged my 7 plus and didn't use it at all and when I looked later in the day it was at 53%..

My 7+ battery life is improving the farther I get from the iOS 11.1 update last weekend - today I just left it unplugged and untouched, and at 12 hours of Standby and 2hr 15 minutes of Usage the battery is at 81%. With 12 hours Standby and 3.25 hours of use my iPhone X is at about 75%.

This is about 6% more remaining than my iPhone X after the same 12 hours, which the X has made a few phone calls and texts today, and checked Facebook once and taken about 10 photos, and checked email once. So my X has been used an extra hour more than the 7+ has.

With the both phones I have Bluetooth on, some apps doing background app refresh, apps using location if using, and email only doing push for .mac and hotmail, but manual fetch mail for the others which I checked once. iCloud photo library is set to update as needed, and I took 6 photos.

However, I still have to test them with continuous Facebook and web surfing, or continuous video watching on youtube, and I suspect they do drain faster than when my 7+ was on 10.3.3, because that's what I've experienced with the 7+ on 11.0.3. Basically great standby time if I don't touch the phone, but it drains faster when I'm using it continuously.

Used my phone with photos and mail for 30 minutes:
Now 4:11 Usage
12:28 Standby
68% left

So after using up 1/3 of my battery that would extrapolate to an estimated 12:30 Usage over 37 1/2 hours of Standby, right?

However, if I dropped 7% over a 35 minute period with 30 minutes of actual on-screen usage, then if I used the iPhone X for 7 continuous hours then I should pretty much kill the battery.

Today’s use was 8h40m usage (evenly split between LTE and Wifi) with ~50 photos taken in bright sunlight outdoors, streaming music over LTE to airpods, wifi browsing, uploading full resolution photos for a photo book, with 15 hours off the charger. Top apps were messages, photos/camera, instagram, safari, and twitter today. Found that this was heavier use than previous days but that battery held up beautifully, wondering if deleting the youtube app also made a difference.

What % was the battery at when your day ended with this usage?
