I plug it in to and from work. It's rare to be below 80%. I don't even charge it overnight anymore. Much better than my old 6 so far.

Here’s the battery usage report after my iPhone X’s 1st battery cycle (256GB Space Gray A1865 running an AT&T sim).
%100-%1 lasted about 7 hours 24min usage and 19.5hr standby

3 hrs usage
16 hrs standby

from my very unprofessional calculations and testing, from light usage (messages, youtube, safari), i get about ~0.75 hrs (45min) of Usage for every 10% of battery. Or 7.5-8hrs of usage.

I miss my 7+ even though it was terrible on iOS 11, when on iOS 10 i could go at least 12 hours total of light usage before charging plus maybe 20 hours of standby.

Battery is amazing, even with screen at 80%. I’m getting better results with this phone than my 6S Plus with battery saver on. I went to bed at full charge and removed from the charger. I didn’t pick my phone up until 11am when I left the house. Did some music streaming through AirPods and light surfing and I’m at 95%.

my battery life is stupid good.... MUCH better than my old 6s+

auto brightness on, TT on and it lasts me all day easily - including 90min of navigation driving to/from work and diddling around.

For people with shorter than expected battery, try deleting the YouTube app. It made a tremendous difference in battery consistency.

really? is this a thing at the moment?

Yes, there have been a few posts here and over at Reddit about the app consuming battery. I was skeptical but definitely am noticing an improvement. One theory someone proposed makes sense, that for higher resolution content, YouTube is using a codec that does not support hardware acceleration, so it ramps up the CPU. In addition, lots of background use for whatever reason even without background refresh for it enabled.

Wow. These usage times look pretty bad. I think you guys need to try a restore and set up as new. That way you guys are left with a clean phone. Battery should be good.

Because I’ve done it since iPhone 3G days. It works. Setting up as new always fixes battery life issues. If that doesn’t, then that’s just how the phone is.
i find that hard to believe! A lot of people have been getting great battery life and they did not set their phone up as new! They’re using old back ups...

Yes, it comes down to luck. Some people’s backups don’t get corrupted. Some do. If your battery life is bad, it’s probably due to a corrupt file in your backup. The only sure way to get rid of that is by restoring and setting it up as new. That way you take no chances.

When I set my phone up as new I was still getting 6-7 hours of battery life

When android fanboys tell me that their incredible battery life of almost 5 hours of screen on time.

I don’t blame them, my old galaxy s7 never got over 7 hours when it was new. Now days it barely gets 5 hours.

And it was with 15% drained by the bugged YouTube app.
