HTC is now at the bottom of the customer service heap for me. Horrible customer service. I couldn't imagine having to go through their warranty service for anything given my experiences. Right from the start when they canceled my order after a few hours of ordering to getting the canceled order 2 days later. Now the return process is vague and uninspiring to say the least. This might be my last HTC phone. I only hope the refund process goes through or I am going to be one angry guy

Oh you have never used Samsung then. You have to call to return and it is horrid. You pretty much have to call for anything. And no one has any idea what is going on. I believe I was charged a restocking fee as well.

Oh I have had issues with Samsung phones. But I have taken them to a carrier store and they replaced them on the spot. No restocking fees or any fees for that matter. In and out in just a few minutes. I had the video go out on a GS6...walked into a TMO store and was in and out in 20 minutes with a new phone. Pretty good if you ask me.....
No where near this whole HTC horrible customer service :)

Aside from the seemingly poor customer service, how is the phone after ~3 weeks since release?

It's still on my radar if the price reaches a more realistic valuation. Or I may risk picking it up in HK/PEK for a lot less and hope it doesn't fail.

The phone is awesome. Seriously, one of the best phones I have ever used.

I have no issues with mine and it's a great handset. I am enjoying using it. After a couple of weeks my screen is great now (initially was a little pink especially off axis - but seems to have subsided - possibly a glue issue).

Software has been stable, there was a load of updates within first few days for OS / Camera.

Battery life is OK. It's about the same as most other androids with a 3,000mah battery. Not fantastic but not poor.

Phone charges ridiculously quickly but gets very warm on the quick charge 3. Other than that it's about the same temp wise as most other snapdragon flagship devices. (Runs cooler than Moto X style and blackberry passport on the 808 snapdragon).

Yeah but that is not Samsung. You could have bought the HTC through the carriers as well. But then you get rammed by the carriers in 100 other ways, no thanks. This just once again makes me sad that none of the OEMs outside Google are seriously up to the task of making a good customer experience .

And to be fair, this is an issue with the shipping dept. There is nothing wrong with the phone, it is amazing. It is my choice to do the return. Who knows if other HTC customer service is this bad. But not going to risk it. And it shouldn't be this way under any umbrella of the customer experience.

It was a very nice phone. But for me personally something was missing from it. Can't explain it but when I used it it was just meh......
Great camera....good battery life....good fit and finish. But something was missing something for me.
But that is just my experience. Others here loved it.

Psst... I think it is the big Samsung label on front.

I just said it, not going to chance bad customer service. Paying hundreds of dollars for a phone, it should be part of the price.

The whole end to end ordering shipping and customer service was horrible. I canceled my order hours after the order. Only to be emailed by customer service my order had been canceled and a cancellation number. The next day got another email that my order had been shipped with tracking. Seriously these guys don't know what they are doing. They didn't even charge my CC until almost a week later. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to reply on them for any kind of warranty work. Yikes!

Man you just want to start the whole personal thing with me every chance you get. What is up with you?
We are here in the HTC thread and you bring up Samsung all the time and how horrible they are.
BUT if someone else brings up Samsung in a positive way....you berate them for hijacking the thread.
Get over it.......
For someone here bragging about how great the 10 is....yet you are returning it? Kind of contradictory if you ask me!

Now let get back on topic.

Next time I will be sure to put a winky face if you are going to be that sensitive. Promise.

EDIT: ;)

Definitely a contender phone but I will steer away until they make the phone lighter. The HTC M9 was just too heavy and slippery for what it is.

Looks like I'm going to be the only one holding onto theirs at this rate. I'm happy with it anyway.

Nope. I still haven't purchased one, since only white version is available in my country (Croatia). As soon as black version arrives, I'm gonna buy one and keep it. With iPhone SE, this is gonna be my companion for some time.

Or at least I hope so, since I change android phones every month or so :(

Yeah, called HTC. They are telling me 14 days for return when the website clearly says 30 days. Wanted to give them one last chance. That is a dealbreaker sadly. It is calling out to me from the box though. Lets see if I can actually go through with dropping it off.

So you're trying to return it but you can't because you're outside of the 14 day window? I also saw on the website where you supposedly have 30 days to return a device.

No I am just within 14 days. I was hoping to have 30 days to wait for a new SIM because my other one was having LTE issues. It is coming FedEx monday. No fault of the phone (I don't think). But I don't want to get into a fight with Digital River if their CSRs are not in sync with their policies.

Ah. I gotcha. I'm outside of the 14 days now. I'll have to sell it on Swappa if I don't keep it. As I'm currently fighting between it and my 6s Plus.
