This is the official Huawei Mate 10 thread;

I have to say I am now very much anticipating the release of the Huawei Mate 10. I read so many good things about the Mate 9 last year, the fantastic battery life, the super smooth OS, and custom processor that makes sure the phone doesn't get laggy months down the road, etc... And it was sold at Best Buy last year, unlocked, for $599 at launch.

Word is the Mate 10, is a big leap forward, with a design matching the new 2017 Android flagships similar to the Galaxy S8+ and LG V30. It will have a K970 processor which is supposed to be a beast, both in power, but also very efficient. And rumored to have a big battery again, maybe 4,000mAh.

Here's the latest news I found on the Mate 10;

I had my heart set on it, until I found out it would be 18:9, at least for the flagship version, no thanks. I've heard only negative things about their software updates. Still, if it was priced ridiculously low like $499 or something, then maybe. Otherwise still waiting on the XL2. Lastly they are probably the only bezel-less display oem who puts their ugly company name on the front of the phone, come on get with the times.

We're still not sure about that. As I said before I've found rumors saying 16:9 and others saying 18:9. One version said the regular 10 would be 16:9 and the 'pro' version 18:9 - hopefully with no deal breaking difference in specs, similar to Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro.

At least I'm still not giving up hope yet :p A totally flat 16:9 screen at least 5.9" big would really fill a big gap considering how the phones being released now are.

It's getting more official https://www.androidpit.com/huawei-mate-10-price-release-date-specs-features

I would LOVE a 16:9 6" screen with no bezels, but I don't think we will see one.

I just read a rumor on the Mate 10, it will ditch the big 4,000mAh battery form the Mate 9, and go way down to a 3,250mAh battery now :(

The Mate series has been known for large batteries a few years now, and to all of a sudden cut down so much for the M10, then this phone is out for me.

And don't tell me about the more efficient processor, blah, blah, blah. Going from 4,000 to 3,200 is still a big difference.

I've been looking at the P10 Plus, but if Huawei releases anything better between now and the time I upgrade I am going to check it out.

I'm very curious about this device.
Anyone have link for the Live launch and any expectations for spec?

Cheers

The back of it looks like it means business, I like it!

Don't know anything else about it so far as I'm in work so can't really scope it out, but I can't see me being interested in buying it. Never been a fan of Huawei devices.
Only phones on my radar currently are iPhone X, Pixel 2 and Essential!

Not something I'd buy. I don't see it as having anything compelling to distinguish it from other more popular phones. The last thing I want for something as important as my main communications device is to be using something that is only used by a tiny number of people in my country.

And having something that isn't like everyone else's is ideal for me

Yep, nice to be different and the Note 10 is definetly the 'Black Sheep', 'spanner in the works', 'inspired choice'.
I like it.

The removal of the headphone jack, the baffling removal of the microSD support, and the lower resolution of the "Pro" model are very disappointing. I was looking forward to buying one, but now I have serious doubts.

There was no need to gimp the Mate series to the iPhone level.

Wait what, they did that?
Urgh.

It's so bizarre how so many companies this year have taken some serious mis-steps.
2017 really should have been the year where we saw flagship devices being success after success and whilst there has been some great devices, ALL of them seem to be gimped in some way or another.
Whether its FPS locations, notches, removing headphone jacks or hard storage or dodgy display panels, there's lots to be remedied for 2018.

If this device came to carriers, I might have been interested. I just don't have the funds outright. The device seems okay but according to specs, it's heavy too.

I'm actually really happy about how light the V30 is. It's giving my wrist a well needed break. It fits perfectly in my hand which is great.
