Huawei having their own OS is all well and good. But if the ban sticks, their phones won't do well outside of China. How many people in the US and Europe would want to buy a phone knowing they can't use YouTube, Google Maps, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, ebay etc?
If they stop working your point will be 100% correct and valid but as of now they said all previously sold devices will continue to work and continue to be supported.

Trump going to pull an Iran stunt and cancel previous agreements as well here?:rolleyes:o_O

great points and don't forget the apps......How many others have tried to build their own OS? Porting the apps has always kept them from succeeding. Will the existing apps just work or will the app devs have to something to make them work? The apps devs have not been willing to do a lot of work to make their apps work for other OSes. Look what happened to Windows mobile. No apps killed that one....

Yes, with the current version of Android. Android Q will not be supported as it stands. So it stands to reason a brand new OS with Huawei's own app store will not be supported.

And by the time Huawei would be able to release their own OS, new devices would be imminent and not supported. So my post is very much valid, a new OS would mean very little for the vast majority of people outside of China if the ban stays in place.

Yeah, I meant to say apps. Even if there was some kind of a workaround to get US made apps onto it, the average user doesn't want the hassle. They want to simply go to the app store and download what they want.

He makes very valid points....look at the release of the Honor 20...they are holding back because it will not be certified and not be supported. Then already sold devices will work. But public perception is not going well. Prices for existing used devices have plummeted.

Before I went to bed I put it in airplane mode. This morning when I woke up I still had 50% left and now I have about 48% left. Battery life is amazing on this smartphone

So envious of your battery life
If you put it in airplane mode before you go to bed and turn off Wi-Fi and cell data then turn everything back on when you wake up you will get 2-3 days out of battery depending on how much you use it during the day.

Battery life is my only complaint about my Pixel 3 XL. But keep hearing how great the P30 Pro battery life is

Wonder if Huawei `stole` battery pattern from some big named battery maker such as Duracell, energizer?;)

Yep, they stole their future tech. Don’t you know? Huawei has a time travel machine where they go into the future and steal people’s future tech
They don't have to go into the future...they are doing it in real time
Stealing others technology does seem to be their method of operation now doesn't it.
you can't report me this time....I'm just replying to what you said....

COHEN: Well, it's a pretty big deal. I think it supports the narrative coming from the Trump administration and elsewhere that China has embarked on a very holistic campaign to acquire U.S. technology, often illegally. And here you have a bonus program that's intended to incent employees to go ahead and steal proprietary information, which actually Huawei's own local management in the U.S. said its employees should not adhere to because they have to abide by U.S. law.

Those “US Sanctions” on Iran should perhaps be renamed to “Israeli Sanctions” on Iran as Trump is just following orders from Israel on this because they want to cut off Iran financially like Palestine and not allow them to buy or sell anything.

There was nothing wrong with what Iran bought from China not anything wrong with what China sold Iran. The T-Mobile Robocop thing is a bit overextended as it is pretty much something China/Huawei probably already had for call monitoring. They most likely just wanted to compare technology of how T-Mobile did it versus Huawei/China. Although it was wrong to do so the way they did. They could have done it after from a phone that was already out. It is pretty much just an app for monitoring incoming calls to block unwanted spam numbers from calling people. This is minor if you ask me (although not right and I don’t support what the Employee did). What the employee did he could have done on his own to try and look great for Huawei but not necessarily what Huawei asked him to do. Many Chinese compete in the job market and in getting job raised so quite often they do things that are wrong to try and offer the company in order to get more money or higher position at company. Apple themselves have had similar issues that they have run into in the past when they hired employees from other companies as well.

Report you?
When did I report you?
You’re giving me way too much credit for your own deeds bud.

This explains why the P30 Pro GPS is so good
What's dual-frequency GPS and does my phone have it? Accuracy test on OnePlus 7 Pro vs S10+

The GPS Test app that we used is most likely not really optimized to utilize these capabilities and yet it managed to show that some dual-frequency devices, like the ones with Huawei's Kirin 980 chipset, are capable of following almost all satellites they saw in the more challenging indoor scenario. They also show the highest location accuracy of 13 feet - the second at the top P30 Pro, and the fourth Honor 20 Pro.

Everytime I post something about Huawei stealing other companies IP in this thread it gets reported
Someone doesn't want to see it here

Maybe next time you should try find out who exactly is reporting rather than simply accusing.

I may not agree with all that you post but your articles are relevant to the discussion.

They are so advanced. Whom do they copied from? From CCTV manufacturers? From police cam manufacturers?

When the next iPhone comes out you will see Apple implementing their own version of what we saw on the P20 Pro and P30 Pro ;)

In this tech industry there are always people either knocking of others or modifying what others did. Apple only had single lense cameras but when others added 2 they added 2 and now others added 3 and they are adding 3. When Apple came out with iPhones they had a single SIM card option only for the iPhone but when Chinese offered dual sim and it sold well they started doing the same as well. In the tech industry this is normal.

It’s the Huawei Time Machine putting in that work man

I hope Apple some day acquire Huawei’s time machine and also steal future tech.
Is that the same time machine that Samsung are always using.
