Canada Post never delivered so maybe tomorrow I’ll receive my 128GB SE. I’ll upgrade to iOS 11 as well and start fresh. Remember Touch ID on the iPad Pro is similar and I changed the setting in accessibility to activate while my finger is rested instead of pushing down. Acts the same as my 7+. I’ll change this when I get the SE too.

One thing I've noticed is that I type faster with the smaller screens (at least when I have autocorrect). I was trying this out on my 5S vs my 6S. I typed much faster on my 5S, and slower on my 6S though a bit more accurate (less relying on autocorrect). I attribute this to finger travel distance. My technique in either case is to use the thumb from my left finger and index finger from my right finger, and I generally don't look at the keyboard but instead look at the content I'm typing (basically touch typing).

I noticed the speed difference when I first got my 6 (coming from a 4S), and thought it was just something I'd get used to, but years later I still haven't caught up to my smaller-screen speed. And this is with me not using the smaller screen for typing for years; I imagine once I'm using it daily I'll be even faster.

Totally agree.

Although 4.7" screen size is better for swype, however swype and other similar keyboards are not really good on iOs, those keyboards are way better on Android i must admit.

I joined the SE club today. I traded in my 6S at the Apple store for one. As annoying as the pocket buldge was, the primary reason I downgraded was due to carpal tunnel. The SE is super light and does not cause strain from one handed use.

It may take some time to acclimate to a small screen again but health is #1.

I agree, I'm worried this was happening to me too. I sit all day in front of a computer and then using a large screen phone all day. I was just asking for it but it took a few years and mostly because I didn't want to admit it. I know I'll have to get used to a smaller phone but health and usability is going to be better for me. I'll save some cash too!

I was using 16GB iPhones (4s & 5) the last few years, and finally pulled the trigger and got myself 128GB SE, not that i had any issue with the small storage (always had 3-4GB free), but decided to go all the way this time :D

Performance wise its nice speed bump compared to the 5 i used till now - everything is much smoother and faster, the 1st gen Touch ID that everyone complains about working very good so far, maybe its not the fastest as some of you says, but its the only one i used and its fast enough for me.

This time the screen is fine, its got a bit worm white (not cold blueish white), but not yellow screen (or lines) like the night shift is always on - had this with other SE i got couple month ago (had to return it after few days).

I decided to stay with iOS 10.3.2 (came like this) for a while before i jump to iOS11, mainly coz of few 32bit apps im using regularly.
After restoring straight out of the box with iTunes from my latest backup, everything was working smooth till i’ve noticed few things, im guessing its related to the iOS 10.3.2 , coz the iP5 (and the SE i had before) was on iOS 10.3.1 and i never had these issues -

1. While the toggle is on, the Today view didnt work from the lock screen, i reset the phone and its started to work as it should, hopefully it won’t happen again…

2. I’ve noticed when i double click the ‘app switcher’ (the home button), and moving back to the home screen from app with white\bright background, the left and top edges of the home screen (with black background) are white for a split second, its a bit annoying in the eyes…

3. Many apps taking more space then before (same versions), some of them up to 4 times, and in total it came to almost 1GB. don’t know why this happened, maybe coz i used my backup? what i noticed is when i erase the app and reinstall it, its “shrink” to the original size… maybe i should do fresh install for the phone before using my backup?

Im sure the issues im having are not a big deal and i’ll solve them soon, it would be nice if this phone will serve me well the next years till they’ll decide to release SE size\weight phone with build-in TouchID into edge to edge screen. ;)

i have an ipad air 2 and an iphone 5s and i dont know what is so bad about the 1st gen TouchID i dont feel it that slow....

I was waiting for the launch of the new iPhones, don't know what to do so I ordered a 5SE... ;)

I had something similar happen to me on my 6S last week (and also rebooted to fix), so maybe an iOS 10.3.x bug that is cropping up.

Same position as me. Sold my 7 Plus as usual to get ready for new phone. Then I realise the best version is £1000 and the not-much changed iPhone 8 isn't worth it so now I'm with iPhone 6.

Finally received my SE 128GB and setting it up tonight. This is so small but feels so much better in the hand. Very light too, can't remember this feeling after 3 years of Plus models. Typing is pretty accurate so far with one thumb. It will be interesting tomorrow at work when I pull this out and everyone has 6,7 and plus models.

I joined the SE club last night because my friend told me that Verizon prepaid has the SE 32 GB for $200 @Best buy. Because of that, I was able to get it unlocked through his account. #1 thing why i like this phone lol #2 is downloading iOS 11 and man, is it smoooooth. I definitely got my money's worth and i love this little guy. Today will be the first test of how the battery will last for my work day.

Is there any reason that I shouldn't buy a 32GB SE from best buy for $150 to keep as a back up while I wait for my iPhone X to get here?

Seems like a to good to be true deal.

okay lets all change our minds, just forget about the iPhone X and buy an iPhone SE

It will save us about $800/$900 per person.

Apple will be happy with us! :p

Yes, save your money for a new watch and AppleTV. Haha, that's what I did. Today will be my first full day as well. So far it's running smooth on iOS11.

I don’t understand how anyone can deal with that tiny screen, it’s like downsizing your living room TV from a 60in 4K screen to 32in 720p panel.

Have to admit, web browsing on the SE is a lot worse (coming from a 6S). Have to put it in landscape mode a lot (which is actually quite easy to do with one hand). I knew this would be the case, but it's taking some adjustment, and is making me reconsider my purchase.

I remember when I got the Plus 3 years ago and everyone laughed at me. Asking how I could carry anything bigger than 4 inches. We all got used to it though. It never was my primary device to watch anything or read, so it was overkill for me. I have an iPad Pro 12.9" for viewing content and working at the office. It feels so much better with one handed use. :)

I use my phone for GPS all the time, I’d go blind trying to look at the map on a 4in screen.

I would agree that if the SE is your only mobile or iOS device then it may not be the best purchase due to the tiny screen, but me personally i have a 12.9 inch ipad at home, and a Mini 4 at work which covers 90+% of my mobile device use time, so itll be fine if i got an SE

Oh, I don't know, how did every consumer of smartphones deal with it for the first 5 years of iPhones? It's funny how perspective changes. The SE is perfectly fine if you are used to it.

That's what we did. 139 bucks. Now att suspended it after a few hours asking for proof of purchase. Once I did that they fixed it and all good. I'm almost tempted to buy a second one. The first one is used by my autistic brother. His first phone for emergency.

I ended up grabbing one this afternoon. Can't believe how good of a deal it is and it will easily last me through my X preorder. It will make a nice backup phone for quite a while also.
