Are you for real.. can you give a real world.example Where you have gone to bed, and your Android phone works and looks one way, then in the morning you turn it on and it's different.. this has never happened , not to you. Or anyone else. Why are you spreading untruths..

An example would be when my phone works one time and then the next time I will go to use it and it doesn't work because of some bug, OS change or some other thing. It has happened to me several times and I have to spend time fixing the problem. Or I will install an update and the OS acts or works different for better or worse. I just prefer IOS because they don't change things all that much There are also way less things to customize and change, which is what you said. My point was I like IOS because of that. Just my preference is all, relax. Each to their own.

Woah! Thats not good, I've never gone to bed with a phone working one to it working another way the next morning. Its a shame you had such a terrible experience, I'd also switch if that ever happened.

I like being able to customise, if I get bored. With my iPad all I can do is change the wallpaper and app layout, with my Note I can go banans and switch back to my old setup with ease, just switch to the launcher I was using.

We also have to remember Apple removing the 3.5mm jack is just a rumour at this point and hasn't been confirmed. If they do remove it I am sure they will have a lightning port to 3.5mm jack adapter. For $19.95 of course.

Well rumors point to the removal. It's not a deal breaker to me for my uses since I go wireless always but I can see it being inconvenient for many. Guess Apple might tout the high quality lightning audio could provide, pushing the CarPlay/Apple Music narrative as well. Also seeing the first real Apple beats headphones, the Lightning beats headphones.

iP68 is what the Sony phones have had since the Z3 and what the S6 Active has. If the water resistant rumors are true for the S7 Range they to will probably be IP68. That doesn't mean waterproof.

But anyway, lets wait and see.

Actually it does mean waterproof. From the link below:

The best way to get a waterproof and dustproof iPhone is to invest in a case from a manufacturer like LifeProof or Griffin, who provide sealed cases with IP68 rating that will then allow you to take the Apple smartphone to the beach or for a swim in the pool.

AFAIK, IP68 doesn't state up to what depth, this is why Sony for example don't claim waterproof.
What it means is that the phone is dust proof and water resistant for dunking in a pool etc...

As for sea water, that is another problem, it may not be covered by warranty if it gets damaged.

Either way, I'll wait and see what Apple say, as this is a difficult one for manufacturers.

By all means, change if you want to change! I had a Note 3 for two years and it was a healthy change to go from the iPhone for a while. Now I'm back with the 6S Plus and it's so good that it's almost worth the crazy amount of money I spent on it.

Try android if you want! It's good to get another point of view.

Onc again, complete BS, you are suggesting as if it's a regular thing. How many OS updates does one device get in its lifetime. . 2 at best. And to suggest it make the phone act different. Jeez, when you hit the camera icon dies the Internet open. Of course not you are just on some propaganda mission for some strange reason. Give an example, you can't. .
And then you say you have to fix bugs.. how do you do that exactly
If an app is damaged all you can do is reinstall it, exactly the same as ios.
Are you on apples payroll, if not, why the BS..

In all my years of using Android, I've never once woken up to a phone that worked differently than it did the night before. For one, I don't let any apps update on their own. And two, OS updates require you to accept them - they don't happen on their own. That makes no sense to me at all. And I've been using Android (primarily) since the original Moto Droid X back in 2010.

The updates depend on what phone and which carrier. I can tell you that on my GF's GS5 on Verizon she must accept the update. She can reject it a couple of times, but then it updates automatically.

No it is not a regular thing but does happen. If it is a bug you have to usually wait months for a bug fix unless it just corrupted something and a simple wipe and reinstall fixes the problem. I never said you can fix a bug, because you can't. But that still shouldn't happen and is a pain. I never said it is just a bug or OS update causing all the problems. There are many factors. With all the customization simple changing one thing can affect the way something else works. Simple installing an app can mess things up. It doesn't change things as drastically as pushing the camera button opens up the Internet, lol. Maybe I should of worded things a little different. IOS devices usually get 3 to 4 updates a year. Which of course you don't have to install them if you don't want to. But you should be able to without any harm. Also I have had apps that would not open up or work anymore until you updated OS. So at some point you do have to accept them. My point was simply that I like IOS because it has less customizable options and less chance of screwing something up. I am not an Apple fanboy because I am actually thinking about switching to Android, probably a Nexus.

just remember to get a highend (/quality) android phone. if you buy a cheap one, your experience would cheap aswell... there are some great budget priced phones too.

I beg to differ. I have a Nexus 5 (which I consider as pretty high end) and a sub $100 Chinese Meizu. No question, the Nexus is better, but the difference is really very marginal. It is so marginal that I have doubts that I would ever buy a $300 phone again (and the top Samsung phones are well over that). I rather go for a Chinese $200 phone.

About the Samsung OS, I also have 2 Samsung iPads (Note 8 and P550 (just got that)) and I don't find the Samsung interface annoying at all. I don't use any Samsung apps though.

I would go for it and try Android. Life is short, it's not like you have to stick with it if you don't like it.

I too was an iPhone user for years but I bought the Samsung Note when it first came out and have been extremely happy with Samsung phones since. Currently the Samsung S6 and Note 5 are some of the best phones out there. Try them out, I'd recommend them.
Also, Jailbreak is not really safe and quite a bit of a hassle to find and try out apps that try to mimic android.
Why go through all that when there is a better, safer system out there?

jailbreak is only not safe for those who don't know how to use it, but hey....this should be also the case with android phones....right :)

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Hi,

I have an iPhone since the 3GS – since many years. After the 3GS I had every iPhone and now the 6s.
I'm really getting bored from the iOS because it is always the same and I would like to change to Android (Samsung S6) but I'm not secure of that because I don't want to regret this change.

I'm asking if someone has (or had) the same experience.

Cheers

I left iOS for the Nexus 5, it was my first Android phone, but I used it for nearly 2 years and it's been fantastic, the OS is so much more interesting then iOS and it ran fine. I bought an iPhone 6S at the end of last year to upgrade and I'm already getting bored of it, you can fiddle with it, change it to how you want it, it works fine but can be boring so I may sell it and go back to Android later in the year.

…I think that iOS has much bugs since iOS 8: keyboard, home screen, safari and pages delays for example – I hate it! El Capitan too is slow compared to windows. No way, I don't like this! Slowly I cannot identify me too with Apple's philosophy anymore: That prices are too high! I mean, it is no a money question because I can buy it; it's just that for me it isn't worth anymore…

I would like to try the Samsung S6 + Galaxy S2 9.7 or Nexus 5X + Nexus 9 / Google Pixel C but I would like to know how rans the software. Any report? There are (much) bugs, lags or delays on that? What do you think?

I think, I will do: I just wait to know if I'm bored because of Apple or of something else :D

It's also the "grass is greener" feeling. We think Android will be better. When it is in some respects. But not in others.

I fight that battle every couple of months. I love Apple products. But I love Android, as well. There are things about each that are great, and things that are not so great. I find that I trust Apple for the long haul just a bit more, and am finding it a little more difficult to switch to Android this time.

One thing I love about android is how it handles incoming calls while in an app or browsing, by giving a small popup window instead of taking up the whole screen. Small things like that I've learned to appreciate.
