which brand?
Previously I have bought BestSkinEver brand clear skins. I get the matte version since they add a little grip to the MBP case.
which brand?
Here is the skin I just put on my 2019 16" today also. I went with iCarbons skin as they had a good deal the other day. I've had DBrands, iCarbon, SkinIt and a couple others and for the most part they are all quality products. I had a blue top skin still laying around so I used the blue apple on my 2019. My 2018 has the white apple from another skin. Installation is not hard, just takes a steady hand and some patience. I've always been a fan of the carbon fiber look.
One thing is for sure, I have used Speck cases in the past, but the i-blason is both higher quality and less expensive.
dbrand external skins in general look pretty amazing. The matte black looks awesome on the Space Gray MacBook Pro. That being said, I wouldn't do the trackpad and palm rest cover. Most of them look bad to meAll these skins look so tacky imo
Same here. My last Speck case was around 2014 and I wasn't happy about it, spontaneously it developed cracks in the corners of the top case, and the latches broke on the bottom case. The i-Blason stuff is more robust than that (not much, but barely enough).

It's from a small company called Toast. You can get one here. That’s a nice looking cover - where can I get one of those?
I just ordered a green leather pattern skin for my soon to arrive 16". Looks nice. I've used several skins in the past and installation is always challenging. Any tips?
Post a picture when you get it installed. Which brand did you order? Regardless, Watch the dbrand video on YouTube, and follow their instructions; they will basically work for any MacBook Pro skin.
I'm guessing they wont like mine much either. You probably won't like this either... View attachment 880453

Be forewarned though, they're a little ridiculously priced. I still personally felt like it beat getting a sleeve or vinyl skin though (much less both), so I bit the bullet.
cars and computers aren't the same thing. A skin on a super clean MacBook Pro cheapens it lets be honest.
I’m An artist that’s all I do is judge taste. People judge me on my taste everyday. I understand that I don’t have to like it but I have an opinion on people ruining the look of their classy machines for something tacky. Some people, most people, have no design sense and ask for opinions. You're literally trying to argue taste? You know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your opinion doesn't matter. He likes it, that's all that matters. You don't like it, then don't do it to yours.
Where did you get the clear skin! It looks nice! Here is a photo of my 16" with the clean skin installed on my 16" MBP. Its installed on the top, palm rests, trackpad, and bottom of the laptop. Again, this is a wet install so you have to do it with care but its virtually undetectable when its installed properly and keeps the laptop really clean and free from any scratches.
