Oh, and is that a brightness toggle? What is this, 2010? I rarely ever have to manually adjust my brightness on my iPhone. The adaptive brightness is that good.
This is one of iPhone Xs/Max best features. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
I definitely agree that a brightness slider is a good thing to have. And for sure it's better on Android where you can see what effect it actually has while adjusting. Being able to set it lower than iOS devices' minimum at night is great too, that's a point that always grinds my gears when using my iPhone at night.and which phone doesnt have an adaptive screen brightness? having a toggle for brighness is the user choice - maybe the user wants to dim the screen to minimum at nights? my iphone/ipad doesnt go dim enough at nights and many times i dim them more than adaptive brigtness does. sometimes the adaptive brightness works odd and suddenly my ipad goes brighter only because the sun was shining better the wall next to me... or brighter because of the ceiling light above me. and i have to fix those unwanted changes by changing the brightness after few taps rather than using a toggle..
and the worst part here is that everything is blurred with a ”white” shade on your screen when you pull the control center forth (ios) and you literally have to guess when the brightness is good when changing it staring the whitish shade rather than the real screen...
Apple watch is no doubt a great device but do far i don't miss mineAlthough I did state that the ecosystem didn't pull me back, I will say that now that I'm back on iOS, boy did I miss the Apple Watch. It can't be matched in my opinion when it comes to Smart Watches.

With that said, I don't know about other phones as auto brightness varies depending on device, but on my 6T it's really annoying. It often reacts way too slow and overcompensates so much that I ended up deactivating it and going full manual. On my 7 Plus it can do dumb things too but for me that basically only happens while I play games, while doing everything else I find it to work very well and I leave it on auto all the time.
I am supposed to get my Galaxy watch soon and find out if I can kick this particular Apple dependency to the curb .Although I did state that the ecosystem didn't pull me back, I will say that now that I'm back on iOS, boy did I miss the Apple Watch. Apple watch is no doubt a great device but do far i don't miss mine
The things that's important on my apple watch I get on my galaxy watch
Music app
Fitness app
Sport scores
Notifications
One thing the galaxy watch has which I like better is always on display and when I do get notifications I don't need to look at my watch to rise to see as it just appears
But like anything there's pros and cons to both
Yeah and replying to texts is easier than using scribble imoCan u quick reply using the watch?
Here my view on samsung browserSo one thing that I really love and use every day on iOS is the reading mode on Safari, especially with the XS' OLED display.
On Android the best browser reader mode I've found is that of the Samsung browser, but it's still really annoying because they insist on using this gray shade instead of pure black for the background. And their intense blue/purple shade used for highlighted words and links is unbearable, it really burns my eyes.
You people with new Samsung phones, does Samsung reader mode still look like this? Or does anyone know a browser with a better reader mode?

Edit: I checked Firefox again and yes that has a better reader mode with a much more pleasant highlight/link color. Sadly though Firefox lacks night mode which I really like about Samsung browser. And Firefox too has that annoying gray background color. Why not pure black at least as an option? So nice with an AMOLED display...
Thanks! Highlight color definitely looks much better there. Is that reader mode or night mode? Here my view on samsung browser

I bought two homepods and i defended it like crazy due to the impressive sound quailty but god Siri has got worse for me on it where even asking it to play the radio become an issue. I’ve given one to my mum and the other is collecting dust.Honestly, iOS feels like antiquated trash now. It's sad because Apple squandered such impressive leads behind its greed and laziness. Not all Apple users will blindly buy something they put out just because of the branding.
The HomePod is the most laughable product they have out right now. And the AirPower gaffe? It might finally be ending with its release.
Maybe iOS 13 will actually be worth a damn and Apple might be more cognizant than we give them credit for. $ is on the prices going up, the quality going down. Apple = pay more, do less sadly.
I know I sound very harsh on Apple, but it is what is. I even said iOS 12 was a disappointing upgrade last WWDC.
I own several Apple products including a 2012 Mac Mini, iPad's but don't consider myself a blind follower if anything just the opposite. I don't have a problem with iOS. What I do have a problem well actually a few but my biggest complaint regarding iOS is that it's a Phone OS that's been supersized to work on the iPad's. What I find laughable is Apple placing the "PRO" moniker on anything it wants to use as an excuse to double or triple the price of the product. The 11" and 12.9" iPad Pro's with iOS looks absolutely ridiculous but yet you'll hear the Apple blind followers accusing Android of being nothing more than a supersized Phone OS on tablets. They can't have it both ways because that critique applies to both iOS and Android and it looks MOST glaring on a supersized iPad.Honestly, iOS feels like antiquated trash now. I’ve realised i don’t need great sound as i don’t play load music.....what i wanted was a good assistant or answered what i wanted it to and google hubs i have two now work great for this and the routines work well too on my S10 plus and on the hubs.
I type this on my iPad Pro so i still enjoy this apple product a lot with the keyboard and the bigger screen but at the moment this is the last product i will buy from apple currently as the iPhone is just too far behind in features and overall as a phone.
The note 10 i think is going to destroy whatever the iPhone 11 will be from a complete package and as a productivity device.

My biggest BEEF with Apple is how they are purposely tweaking their designs so that you either have to buy Apple Care or you have to spend money to upgrade before you buy and in the worst case scenario you have to buy a new computer because the repair comes too close to the purchase of a new replacement.
The Macbook Pro with the failing display cables that break and require a new display replacement instead of buying and replacing a $3 part is laughable and yet the Apple followers will make excuses for Apple and will continue to buy overly priced computer gear from the company. Their laptop keyboards are a joke.
But the Mac Mini is the most glaring example on how Apple has tweaked their designs against their customers. If you want to buy an entry level Mac Mini it comes with a paltry 128GB SSD drive. So they have tweaked the design so as to get you to fork over another $200 for an upgraded CPU and a 256GB SSD. The worst part is that the SSD is soldered on the motherboard so if it fails or if the T2 Security controller fails, that's a new motherboard. On my 2012 Mini, memory can be swapped out easily without taking the top cover off. On the 2018 Mini you have to disassemble the case and remove the motherboard, taking a risk that something could break and that would be a costly repair because it's not covered under the warranty.
They have done similar designs on their laptops. But people keep buying the brand and paying a lot more than what the competition offers which baffles me. The other excuse I hear but macOS is the best. No it's not, that no longer is true. They have squandered the lead they had over Windows. Now Windows 10 is a robust and rock solid OS that has a better App Store verses what Apple offers. I can buy AAA videogames on the Windows App Store and play any Microsoft game either on my Windows PC or XBOX One. Linux has come a long, long way and I actually prefer it to macOS. It is much more secure than macOS and it has become feature rich and user friendly.
So when my 2012 Mac Mini is no longer supported I will turn it into a Linux box.
I bought two Echo Dots for $20 each and got a Google Home Mini for $30 w/ a $25 gift card. I also got another Home Mini brand new for $1. Each product has lived up the price and performed admirably. I was looking at the Home Hub, but felt it would be too pricey to add to my collection. I would snag one at $50 mark though.
The Note 10 will be a phenomenal phone. I don't need the extras it will have, so I am going to be peachy with my S10!

I am glad others aren't letting Apple slide here. But if you go to the main news page? There are so many folks that defend all or most of Apple's decisions. I won't be buying another Apple laptop again probably. Their products are overpriced and underwhelming. PC is good enough to work day to day. My Surface Go is quite the product.
I do still enjoy using my 7 Plus. I like how iOS can be like a minimalistically furnished and completely tidy office, which in some ways helps me be more productive than having the huge amount of functionality that Android provides. I love the work flow been my iPhone and my MBP 2015 which is the best laptop I've ever owned.Honestly, iOS feels like antiquated trash now. Meanwhile I'm effortlessly typing this and checking out various things on the web while keeping an eye on a live match on the top 30% of my display, which is just a whole other world. And this is a gorgeous AMOLED display on a device that costs HALF of an entry level iPhone XS Max.
So yeah. I still like iOS in many ways. But Apple's prices are just cynical at this point, at least it you want stuff like a large OLED display phone.
So I think for now my setup is going to end up being MBP 15", Apple Watch srs 4 LTE (unbeatable among smartwatches IMO, this one is worth its price), old iPhone for my iOS fix + home base for the Watch, but Android for my daily driver smartphone. Probably eventually going for Note 10 over my current OnePlus 6T to get at the top display quality /size and the S Pen thereby paying a premium price, something I just can't bring myself to do for the XS Max however...

Very similar situation for me. For the first time since my HTC One M7, my daily driver is going to be Android (Pixel 3 XL) while I have an iPhone 7 as a secondary phone to be home base for my Apple Watch and interaction with iOS for the family (AirDrop, family sharing). Just picked up a Pixelbook for daily use while my iMac will be kept as the primary home computer. Sold all 3 HomePods (never thought I'd pull that one off) and my XS Max and iPP 12.9 (2018) will be listed for sale this week. Cancelled Apple Music last week and signed up for additional storage on Google One.
I still prefer iOS over Android in most ways and definitely prefer Mac OS over Windows (tried a Surface Pro 6 for a few weeks but just can't tolerate it) but I just can't stomach Apple's current state of affairs any longer and the only way to truly impact them it's by voting with my wallet.
