I arrived at the terminal passing just just regular recovery
You need to be in Internet recovery for this to work.

So restart while holding command-option-r (all three at once). Once you select your wifi you should see a spinning grey globe while the recovery utility downloads. Then you should see the recovery screen where you can go through all the earlier steps to make the Fusion drive.

as soon as the installation is finished I will try again to make the diskutil cs create fusion diskXX diskXX and I will remember the error I get, I think it will be useful, what do you think?

The key is you need to make sure you are in Internet recovery. If you do not see that grey spinning globe first, you are not in Internet recovery and this will not work.

OK this I did, the only step that does not occur to me is:
Quit Disk Utility then launch it again and you should get a screen something like this offering to fix the Fusion drive.

But I can open Terminal and make diskutil cs create fusion diskXX diskXX
After it fails with error this command I no longer see my SSD and I am forced to install an OS again then again I see both my SSD and my SATA

Hello, now I have a clean installation with El Capitan, please can you tell me what I have to do in order not to make mistakes?
I did from Terminate Diskutil list and I find this:
Thank you!!!!

Last login: Wed Oct 24 22:39:23 on console
iMac:~ ale$ diskutil list
/dev/disk0 (internal, physical):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *2.0 TB disk0
1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1
2: Apple_HFS Untitled 2.0 TB disk0s2
3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3
iMac:~ ale$

I do not see the HD SSD anymore
I'm in confusion !!!

You need to command-option-r boot to Internet recovery. Then erase both drive, then make the Fusion drive like I described up in post #14, then reinstall the OS.

Make sure you see the spinning grey globe first or you are not in Internet recovery.

Ok, he will do it in 3 hours. as soon as I get home at the end of the job
When I do erase do I have to set journaled hfs + to enter the drives?
The problem that I foresee is that I will not see the SSD drive as in the previous post I put the result of the diskutil list
I can see the two sata disks and SSD only if I do internet recovery but if before I had installed Mojave
I hope I explained myself!! now I try your method and in three hours I'll let you know if it worked!
Thanks again!!!

Yes... format both disks to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

I think you will see them because the earlier diskutil list command you ran showed the drives.
hello, I followed the instructions step by step:
I did not get the option to fix the Fusion drive.
I found the two disks sata and ssd
I wrote diskutil cs create fusion disk0 disk1
at 28.6% I got this error -69784
I put the photos of the video in the post! I think the damage is great!
Thanks again for the help

It looks like you are doing everything correctly there, and I fear you have some sort of hardware issue going on here. :(
Hello, thanks again for your support.
Today with Apple we did other tests, but at the end they told me to go to the service center at my expense, even if the diagnosis says that there is no hardware problem.
I feel destroyed and disappointed by the Apple experience: after being bought so many iPhones, Mac Pro, iMac, iPad of all versions to be abandoned so it really sucks.
I feel cheated, but patience I'm only a customer for more than 20 years ....

I was trying to fix the same problem and I get this mess . Can you help me please?

I want to have the Fusion Drive back again. Split the Drive in two: 1TB to MacOS and 1TB to a Windows OS.

How can I make that happen?

Thank you! ☺️

Hello @Weaselboy, hope for your help, since you gave a chance for other people in this thread.
I've tried to repeat steps from topic but nothing helps me.
All the time when I'm trying to erase disk1 or format through diskutil tool, i've got an error Unable to write to the last block of the device.

During creation of coreStorage got same error.

I'm in panic and do not understand what to do and why it happened.

P.S. Some history, my Mac motherboard was replaced and after that I've got problem with the system installation.

Macbook pro 2015 model A1502

Diskutil list details in attachments.
Hope you are able to help with my issue. Thank you.

That corestorage stuff won't apply to your setup.

Can you command-option-r boot to get to Internet recovery? You should see a grey spinning globe first then he recovery screen.

I've run mac in that way using command+option+r boot, so I'm in the right place.

Okay... good deal.

Once in Internet recovery start Disk Utility then select the drive itself at the very top left like in my screenshot. Then click erase and format the entire disk to Mac OS Extended. Does that work?

You may need to select Show All Devices in that dropdown.

Actually I don't have an option show all device only internal storage like APPLE SSD SM0128G Media is shown, without macintos HD.

When I'm trying to erase I've got an error Unable to write to the last block of the device.

This issue I've got when guys give me back the mac. Looks like macintosh HD was deleted or something like that.

That's okay... that option is only on newer OS versions.

I wonder if your drive is bad? What if you run First Aid on it?

Check with First Aid is finished successfully.

One warning is here:
"Problem were found with the partition map which might prevent booting". But it possible that I'm done something ...not sure

What are you selected for the Scheme: option there?

Try first formatting it to MS-DOS with the MBR option I have there, then after that to Mac OS with the GUID option and see what that does.
