I got the same event, but declining the invite was not the best action. The decline basically let the spammer know that the iCloud account is active. For those who received it that haven't done anything yet, move the event to a junk calendar and then delete the junk calendar.

Or contact Apple first. They are taking screenshots of this and sending it to engineers.

I noticed a few days ago that ads would show up on my iPhone's calendar.
They show up as an all day event invitation and I have no idea where they're coming from. I'm not subscribed to any calendars.
Seems to be a form of spam where they're sending calendar invitations instead of just emails. But I have no idea how they're able to get into my calendar.
Here's what it looks like:
http://imgur.com/a/OrhZy

It shows up as an invitation from "binghan" but I don't know who this person is and he's not on my contacts list.

Please halp

Another thread was created on this previously. The only thing to do is dismiss it. It's some form of spam affecting iPhone users.

Do not dismiss the event! It sends a confirmation to the spammer that your email is active. Move the event to a junk calendar and then delete the calendar.

Do you have a source or link proving your statement?

I received the same thing today. Weired thing is, that I don't use my iCloud email address it was sent to anywhere, nor that combination of words in any other email account. So how did they get this email address if apple is the only one who knows it?

I already changed my icloud settings to receive invites per email as well and moved the invite to a new calendar called SPAM. Did not know I could delete the calendar and get rid of the invite. Thanks for that!

I am still wondering how they got that address though.

I've had a few of these in my Calendar app and Photo app. Managed to turn of Photo sharing to disable those and also deleted the Calendar ones without declining the request etc.

Just had a Reminder spam request which I can't get rid off without "Declining" so I had to disable my iCloud reminder settings completely so I don't see it on my devices which then means I can't share between them :(

This is truly pathetic that good options have to be disabled just to stop Spam requests. Come on Apple sort this out!!

I just received a notification and hit decline as I get many reminders because i have loads of appointments from ongoing cancer treatment. Now to worry if my iCloud account is going to be compromised :/ Has Apple released a statement saying they are looking into the issue? I have been looking into it and many users the past week have been having the same problem.

Damnit ... I got one of these today and hit decline. I've only found out about the whole thing. So I guess I confirmed my address. What now ?

Today, I received two spam ads (for sunglasses) through my Calendar!

They appeared both on my iPhone 5 (iOS 9.3.5) and on my MacBook Pro (10.11.6).

I didn't know this was a thing.

How do I stop it?

Thank you. I just followed the procedure. It appears to have worked.

I hope that Apple fixes this issue.

I've also received a few spams via text. I just delete them.

iPhone 6S..... opened my calendar this morning to find the next ten days had entries inserted that I had not put in there. "USG price is only $49.00" was shown in each day. Also found the same entries in Calendar on my MacBook Pro.. How is it possible that Apple allow my Calendar to be invaded in this way. I have deleted all the entries but am concerned about this invasion.
