Saw there was an update to 14.2.1 on both iPad and iPhone. So far it hasn’t had any funky tabs but it won’t sync a tab I just opened on my iPhone (this forum) on iPad. Showing nothing when I check iCloud tabs. Hopefully it’s fixed 100% soon.

I had a further call with Apple second level support today. We captured a system log from my iPad and screenshots clearly illustrating this issue so that it could be formally escalated to the engineering team. His comment - rightly or wrongly - was that he could see few if any other reports of this issue in their system, whilst fully acknowledging that it's an extensively reported issue on the wider web. Again, the message is to raise this properly with Apple support (although I can see that some people here have had much worse luck than me in getting through to someone beyond the first-level call agent).

He fully accepts that there's a clear problem here, and has promised me a call back on Sunday when he's next on duty to progress this issue.

My iPad is showing the tabs open on my Mac with passable accuracy, but it still shows something like 20 tabs open on my iPhone, which hasn't had ANY tabs open in several days. They're all combinations of various websites I visited on said phone in the past two weeks.

Yeah mine have sorted themselves out for the past 24 hours but I did turn off Siri suggestions for Safari in settings so not sure if this helped?
Thought mine were fixed but today I’m seeing tabs open on devices that I’ve signed out of iCloud from and no longer own!

Bleh. Like I said, macOS Safari “fixed itself” this morning; now iPhone shows no iCloud tabs. Man!!

Been having this issue all week on my 2015 MBP w/ 11.1 beta, and iphone 11 pro max 14.2. Yesterday I could access it on safari on the macbook but now it just says icloud automatically shows your other devices. I have logged out of icloud on the mac and phone, resync'd safari, restarted, nothing. It just comes and goes as it pleases very fustrating.

And now for me the iPhone is "fixed" again, but the 2017 MacBook Pro is dead again (no tabs showing for the iOS devices). And I'm not doing anything. So, it seems pretty clear iCloud is having a problem Apple isn't talking about.

Yeah, these tabs still come and go for me. If I see it on my Mac and close a tab on my iPhone, all of the iCloud tabs disappear on the Mac. Hard to believe this is still an issue after all this time. I also noticed that on the new tab page in Safari, I no longer have the option to include the iCloud tabs. See image. Definitely broken on their side.

Found this thread in Reddit. Same issue, reset everything iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac, and still nothing. But I did notice that "Siri Suggestions" is suggesting the last tab I had opened on another device. So maybe they are switching that tab syncing capability to this and/or it broke it.
I noticed the tabs weren't working properly a few days ago and tonight I googled it on my MBP and got to this thread. So now I know it's all on their end, I said "whatever" and switched to browsing on my iPhone.

Still no tabs, but in "Siri Suggestions"? This thread.

Has someone emailed this to Tim Cook? It's a long shot, but it's the kind of thing that he'll read, and flick to someone.

This morning first thing, my iPhone, iPad, and one MacBook Pro were correct. I even opened a new tab on the working MacBook Pro and it showed as quickly as I could check on my iPhone. One MacBook Pro showed nothing of other devices, however. I went to that MacBook Pro, turned off iCloud/Safari, restarted, turned it back on. Now, the iPad shows tabs correctly on other devices, but the other three devices now show nothing. This is just a mess. It changed so fast from close to good (all but one device) to nothing showing at all. It's still the same about 10 minutes later.

can confirm. it is a MESS! actually macbook is showing no tabs at all. iOS devices are showing old tabs

I’m back at the Apple Premium Reseller today, I’ve checked with my colleagues, all of them have the issue.
No tabs at all, or delayed ones. I’ll try to investigate with the customers if they experience the problem.

So far, we have no info or note from Apple regarding this issue...

I think Apple one has no relation to the issue All of us are facing.

Correct. Many of us not on Apple One have the same problem.

I also filed bug reports. Thank you to those filing formally and reaching out to Apple via executive email addresses and/or senior support staff.

Finally, it seems that if you have even 1 browser updated to the latest version (Safari 14.0.x on Mac - even on Catalina or IOS 14.x) - you suffer from deprecated tabs...

I do have a question for you guys: Did you update to macOS Big Sur?
My wife changed her iPhone, (iPhone X to XS) and she has no issue with tabs sync or any other syncing trouble.

BUT, on her MacBook Pro 15 retina (mi-2012) the latest update is Catalina.
So her iCloud account wasn't impacted by Big Sur.

I was simply wondering, do you have this issue, even if you don't own a Mac or if you didn't move to Big Sur yet?
Have not moved to Big Sur on any device still have the issue.

I contacted Apple about a different issue and asked about this while on the call. I was told there is an internal issue documented about slow iCloud Tab syncing, but no details about it. So Apple is at least aware of it.

That was only a level one support guy, so it’s also possible that the support guy was just trying to get me off the phone as he said he also found a document about a problem I’ve been having for nearly a year which would indicate Apple is ignoring problems.

OK...so I just checked my tabs on my MacBook. They seemed to be correct, showing tabs from multiple devices, including from one I recently opened on my phone. I clicked one of the phone tabs to close it, and every tab disappeared...

I created an account just to post this. These past 3 weeks have been annoying for me. None of my iCloud tabs are syncing. My phone is showing iCloud tabs from 2 other iPhones; this is just my phone duplicating for some reason. I have tons and tons of ghost tabs reappearing and disappearing. I've tried all the sign out of iCloud bs and it never works. It actually makes it worse, far worse; my iPad is showing iPad iCloud tabs and there's dozen of them. Now what really set me off is what's been happening today. None of my iCloud photos are syncing between devices; my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook all have a different total of pictures. What is going on... Do not sign out of iCloud. It's only going to get worse, you're going to see tabs that you've closed weeks ago. So much for that privacy huh Apple?

I bought into the continuity marketing BS and Apple hasn't delivered. It seems that I when I need most for these features to work, they decide to break. Very frustrating.
