Folks, truly, submit feedback to Apple. Use the public email addresses of the higher-ups to get some traction (maybe) if you like. But complaining here and talking about how terrible Apple is and various other hyperbolic statements neither accomplishes nor adds anything.

Send feedback to Apple. I have in several forms. Please join me.

Does anyone else have Screen Time syncing problems also? I have both the Tabs and Screen Time syncing problem.

Screen time syncing quite simply does not work. It never has and I doubt it ever will. It’s yet another half-arsed implementation of a feature by Apple that they clearly don’t have the skills or the willingness to sort out.

I'm grrateful to find this thread. I just noticed today (for the first time) that my open Safari tabs are not syncing across iDevices.
I don't recall the last time I used that feature, maybe a month or two ago. I guess I'm glad I'm not alone.

I'm writing this because I am wondering if another issue is related. Recently I have had problems with App Store software updates not connecting. I've recently started getting error messages when trying to update an app on the App Store. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Maybe someone mentioned that in the previous 27 pages.
I'm not trying to steer the conversation but I'm wondering if they could be related iCloud issues.

I agree with everyone who is concerned about the deteriorating quality of Apple's operating systems over the past five to ten years. Gone are the days when I automatically updated any OS. I now wait at least a year before a major upgrade (still on Mojave!). So many problems just crop up seemingly out of nowhere. And the Mac hardware......

I do not suspect it is related, however, I have observed the same behavior on Mojave. Basically, you have to click update on a pending update a few times before it stops throwing an error. I've gotten in the habit of clicking update, acknowledging the error, waiting a minute or so and then clicking update again. That appears to help for whatever reason in most cases.

I've read that Apple has made significant changes to how the App Store "works" (underlying web frame work and such). It does not appear these changes are playing particularly well under Mojave. For example it has broken mas, an open source command line utility to run App store updates written by who I believe are or were members of the Apple dev team.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming on iCloud Tabs. ;-)

As I had suggested a number of pages back, I'll mention again that the actual synchronization appears to be working for me as I can see the updates I'm making on other devices via the open source app CloudyTabs. However, Safari is still fluctuating back and forth between showing iCloud Tabs correctly, at least momentarily, and showing nothing at all. So I personally suspect the issue is more of a Safari one then the underlying iCloud service which performs the syncing.

Where can I send a feedback to Apple ?
Traditionally, by going to "https://www.apple.com/feedback/".

But there was an interesting Tidbits article a few months ago by a former Apple Software Engineer that pointed out that all Apple devices and computers now include the Feedback Assistant. It won't necessarily garner your entry any more attention that I'm aware of, however, it provides users with guidance on submitting feedback to make it more useful (and therefore more actionable) and sounded like the way to go over the web site. (One difference is It does require you to login with an Apple ID.)

On macOS, simply go to Spotlight Search (the magnifying glass in the menu bar) and type "Feedback Assistant" to locate and run it. (It's an OS core service component and not in the Apps or Apps/Utility folder.)

I have a second appointment with apple support at monday.
He wants to install a "new profile" and get some systemlogs from my macbook again.

So in the end he's trying to get this issue fixed.

i told him some days ago about the missing icloud tabs setting on the startpage, too

i will keep you updated.
When you talk to him ask him for the Apple rdar (I think most people pronounce it radar) number for the bug. Perhaps in fact everyone who gets acknowledgement from Apple that the bug is real can try that and post it here. Then the next time someone calls in and is told this is the first time anyone has ever seen this and it’s not in the system they can give the support person the rdar numbers.

i find this whole ”we’ve never seen this before” shtick you get from support after spending two hours on the phone one of the most annoying things about “support“.

The only way to get around this issue right now is to have the browser open and use Handoff on the other device. Do this for as many tabs you want, making them active and using Handoff.

iCloud Tabs Sync is not working. Even when it does, it is not correct, so no use. Only way out right now is to consciously use Handoff to get tabs on the devices you want, for reading later.

This is what I don’t like with Apple. They have to sell new gadgets and bring new software but often times break what was working smoothly up until then. They should put more focus on not breaking existing features.

I have an odd problem with screen time syncing. My kids are in the family group. I have Screen Time enabled for both, but one of the kids's iPhones will not sync the screen time data (though it syncs with my wife's account) even though I can change its settings. Another phone syncs fine but is often behind in its reporting.

Whatever the issues with icloud tab and screen time syncing, it is getting to be an unusable joke.

Hi Guys,
i also have this Problem since a while and unfortunately don't have any Solution for it though i've tried everything BUT... i maybe found a Workaround meanwhile Apple is fixing the Issue.

There is a simple free App called CloudyTabs which is very useful for this case.
It can be found here: https://github.com/josh-/CloudyTabs

It stays in your MenuBar and shows you exactly what all of us are Missing: The open Tabs of all of our Devices. I had to grant full DiskAccess under Security in System Preferences of macOS Big Sur first to use it, otherwise the App won't open but after that i does what Apple can't since many Weeks. Unfortunately you can not close Tabs yet but it's better than nothing maybe. It thought it could be useful for you so i like to share this. Hopefully Apple fix this Issue soon.

This does not change anything. Now there are two inconsistent lists of open tabs. This is the proof that there is something wrong with iCloud as well.

Yes you're right but for me it's a little help because i mostly need the open Tabs of my iPhone on my Mac and that's why i thought it could be helpful for others too.

It's definitely proven that there is something wrong at Apple Side within iCloud which need to be fixed. I've found many other Devices with different macOS and also many People on Twitter fighting with the same Problem as well. Hopefully Apple fix this soon or give a Statement that iCloud Tabs are gone forever.

So iCloud tabs don't work for me. Universal Clipboard does not work. And handoff to my iPhone to Mac does not work. im on Big Sur beta 11.2 and latest iPhone beta.

On my main, I'm on 10.15.7 and iOS 14.3 ... tabs were working fine prior to upgrading to iPhone 12, now it's a hit and miss with iCloud tabs, and Notes ... sometimes it will say there is something new/change in notes but it's not reflected on either device, iCloud tabs just don't work at all. Other handoff stuff works including mail, maps, pages, numbers flawlessly. Which I'm actually surprised because prior to iOS14 I had problems the other way around ... notes and tabs worked flawlessly, but mail, pages, numbers, maps was a hit and miss.

Called support, did a reset, restore on iOS, macOS heck I even started on one of the MacBooks with Big Sur from scratch ... and I'm just tired of reset restoring my stuff and wasting time, so I live with it now the way it is. I'm sure it will get sorted out at some point, but if it doesn't no biggie.

11.1 with iOS 14.3
iCloud Tabs still do not work with any consistency.
(Meanwhile, Universal Clipboard and Handoff work fine.)

Second appointment done:

We installed a new profile called "CloudKit" on iPhone and Mac and then run some diagnostic tools on iPhone and Mac and sended them to Apple.

So we have to wait, but still they want to fix this issue.

Keep you updated!

Honestly, this happens to me like every X.0, X.1, X.2, and then around the 0.4 0.5 all the classic stuff starts working again (when they can get around to it again). I am seriously starting to think about going back to only installing when they hit 11.3, 12.3 etc... (the 0.3 releases and up)

But going back to Catalina doesn't make a difference. I wish it would.

Same problems here :( running MacBook Pro 15 inch mid 2015 with Big Sur 11.1 and iPhone X with IOS 14.3

On Macbook, Safari is either showing 3 - 4 day old tabs from iPhone, or of I close Safari and reopen, if doesn't show and tabs open on my iPhone

On iPhone, either shows again 3 - 4 day old tabs from Safari on Macbook, or nothing

Before I found this post, I have raised this with Apple and been passed to a senior adviser, who apparently when checking hasn't heard of this before and I have been working with them for a few days, signing out of iCloud on both Macbook ad iPhone then signing back in, clearing cache out etc. but no difference

To me it seems to either be a Apple server issue - or coincidentally since IOS 14.3
