I am due to upgrade this September and planning on getting a 16 Pro or Pro Max, but not ruling out getting a 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max depending on whether the new phones are significantly better. I opted for a 13 pro Max when the 14 Pro's were released and never regretted my decision. I have a 14 Pro Max as a works phone and the difference between both phones is minimal so it might be a wise option to take advantage of the price drops. Unsure, I can afford either but like to feel satisfied with a purchase like this.

If the 16 gets 90hz (or 120hz) then I might settle for that. If not probably normal size Pro. Coming from a 12 Pro.

Not in the market but I'd always go for the highest end model. Having used a family members 15 Plus I think if had "ProMotion" display then i'd settle for that. Using the 15 Plus/15 Pro Max feels basically the same except minor things but the major problem for me is the crappy refresh rate. 60Hz is so 2004.

I'm on a 13 Pro right now and will consider a 16 Pro this fall. I'm not pressed for an upgrade but a culmination of little things, like USB-C and the higher resolution cameras, will be nice. Especially USB-C since my MBP, iPad, AirPods, and most other devices I own use USB-C charging so I take a Lightning cable with me when traveling just for my iPhone.
I am in the same situation like you. I can't wait to complete the transition to USB-C and I hope that the new iPhone 16 Pro will be good enough to convince me to trade in my iPhone 13 Pro. I am on a 3 years upgrade cycle for the past 10 years.

Pro Max. Going from an iPhone 11 to a iPhone Pro Max in more ways than one will be a humongous upgrade for me. My daughter is also going to be going from a iPhone SE2 to a iPhone 16 so that obviously will be a gigantic upgrade for her. I really think (and kind of hope) that like my iPhone 11 will have lasted me for 5 years that this phone will last me for at least 6. I'm not even actually retiring my iPhone 11. I will still use it as backup and most of all use it for a secondary Pokmon GO! account. 😅😂

The Pro Max (because it's most likely to have the best of the camera upgrades). I would be disappointed if the presentation in September doesn't massively focus on what AI can do for video/stills, even if those features aren't fully rolled out until next Spring (which in itself is disappointing). I'm mainly interested in the camera upgrades and what AI will do with footage/images, I don't need ai to re-word my messages or prioritise notifications etc. Siri desperately needs to be more than "I've found these links for you". And Siri needs to be able to be set to multi-lingual, rather than only being allowed to pick one language from a list. I use Co-Pilot through Skype instead for search tasks that Siri should be able to do.

Whichever Pro model is the size I'd want. It makes no sense to wait for a baseline iPhone to release that will be worse than last year's Pro model. If I wanted a regular 16 I'd get a 15 Pro instead.

I only use two Apple gadgets my MacBook Pro & my IPhone 12 Pro Max.

If I where to upgrade this year I would go for the pro max, given I no longer use a IPad and wish to have the largest possible display for consuming my media on the go.

I’ve been with the Plus/Max versions since the 6 plus came out. I see no reason to change. I will be getting a 16 Pro Max this year then selling it to get the 17 Pro Max once it comes out next year then I’ll keep that for 3-4 years.

I'm thinking 16 Pro. It should be a decent upgrade my 11 Pro at this point. Hopefully that will last me another 5 or so years as well.

16PM for me, if I choose to upgrade my 15PM (just because EE are offering me such a good deal)

However, I may save that upgrade for my Android phone seeing as my 15PM and AWU2 are immaculate/as new and under full warranty still (zero issues with either of them)

My Pixel Fold may be the one that gets replaced (Z Fold 6 piques my interest at last, but want to see what Google release re their foldables)

Pro. The pro max won’t fit on my wireless charger in my car.

Probably the 16 Pro, but tempted to get the 16 Pro Max.
16PM is a tad too big for me to carry in a jeans pocket.

At the moment 16PM, but, I want to see how much battery life is on the 16P, and what features the 16PM has aside from 0.6" larger display and the added capacity.
With the 15P vs 15PM, the upgrade cost is so small once you bump the capacity up to 256GB, so will be interesting this year to see.
Honestly, depending on what's added, I may even go with a 15PM once it goes down in price.

I bought the 15 Pro last year after using the Plus/XS/Max sizes since they were released, and switching to a smaller screen was the best decision I made. I couldn't go back to the Max size, especially since they're getting even bigger. I'll definitely get the 16 Pro (hoping the camera is just as good as the Pro Max), but after this, I don't plan on upgrading again for a few years.

One of the Pros. I've been considering the large one for a change, better battery. Depends on camera too.
I'll wing it when the time comes. Probably a 256GB model.

May go for the 16 Pro (from my current 13 Pro), but there would have to be something extra in addition to what we know from the rumors. Kinda like the ridiculous jump in the battery life in 13 Pro (on iOS 15) had compared to iPhone 12 Pro. Unless there something like that, I may decide to ride out another year with 13 Pro, as it's really been an execeptional workhorse.

I hate how they give they gave only the 15PM the slightly better camera. Upgrading from a 14 Pro and will have to see if the 16 Pro models are identical or if the PM has an advantage.

Not considering keeping your 15 Pro for a few years considering it’ll be very similar to a 16 Pro and only 12 months old at this point?
