Since I’m coming from an iPhone XR, a plain 16 looks great to me. I think extra $$$ would be better spent upgrading the storage. I’m definitely getting at least 256, I am seriously considering 512

At the moment I have the iPhone 13 Pro, 512GB and I am definitely upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro. If you can afford the money to get the 512 GB version of the iPhone 16 or the iPhone 16 Pro/Max and you are planning on using it for the next 3-5 years, go for it. It's better to have more storage than less since storage can't be upgraded at a later time.
Also, I hope Apple completes the transition to USB-C to include all its accessories, otherwise I won't buy the iPhone 16 Pro and I will wait for the next iPhone in 2025.

Woah nice, XR still going strong six years later. If you plan on keeping it for as long as the XR, then the 512gb upgrade is so recommended.

Currently have a 13 mini, but would like to have a bigger screen. I’m thinking of 16 pro if it will be easy to use, one handed.

I will go from 15 pro to 16 pro. I upgrade every year and then hand down my old phone to the family member with the oldest phone.

If I upgrade, will be the Pro. Hopefully they do not add weight to the new 16 Pro as I really like the reduced weight of the 15 Pro.

Sitting on a 14PM. Didn’t upgrade to 15 due to poor colors, lack of compelling features. Now realize USB C is becoming more useful. Not sure I will like the footprint of the larger PM - may go with a green or blue 16 this year

Same boat as you. Didn’t think the 15pm was very compelling, but now the 16 pro color rumors look even worse. Thinking maybe the 15 blue titanium is the most compelling. I have the deep purple 14PM, and I don’t see anything topping that. Unless at some point they do another purple.

Rose has to be the worst special color ever.

Will always be the Pro Max. Coming from a 14 Pro Max. I always upgrade every 2 years.

If Pro model has features to attract me, I'll go for 16 Pro. Otherwise 16 is enough.

Currently 15 Pro (Natural Titanium 128GB). Will be upgrading to the 16 Pro, base storage, probably in Black if the leaked colors are accurate.

I’ve got a blue 256GB 14. My upgrade window will be the 17-19, but I don’t envisage it being any time soon, since it is still flawless, and the colour is great. Hopefully by the time I’m ready I can get something in a nice colour that’s no bigger than my 14.

Went from the 14 Pro to the 15 Plus. Skipped the 15 PM because it was $300 more and weighed 20 grams heavier. I have missed the AOD terribly and I will be going with a 16 PM upon launch. Natural titanium.

I expect the Pro line to get brighter this year. Which I always appreciate. Hopefully the larger 6.9" screen is noticeably bigger.

This is kind of off-topic, but it still involves the iPhone 16. Yesterday, I mentioned I was upgrading my 12 mini to someone, they suggested I get the latest or older iPhone. I forgot their reasoning. I politely declined because once the 16 comes out, more older phones will be discontinued. The whole reason I’m looking at the 16 series is because either the 12 mini or the mini series has been discontinued. (I read that the mini series was discontinued because of the lack of sales.)
