So i got some message error, (something about a directory, i dont remember), but I clicked OK and it has been "installing SSH" for a while now. is that normal?

That doesn't seem normal, you might want to restore your iPod and start over.

Ok so I did it over but I got the same thing.

"sh: line 1: ./iphuc: No such file or directory (127)"

What do I do now? Click OK?

alright so I restored my ipod, and then I started the JB again. hopefully it works now. when you crash safari, is the ipod suppose to be connected?

Hi guys...

The app is great - but when I go to chmod the apps in terminal I get the response "chmod: not found"

What am I doing wrong :(

Alright so I got the same error message. what now?

Your iJailBreak doesn't seem to be properly installed. Do you have it in /Applications ? There should be a folder /Applications/iJailBreak/ and within that an iJailBreak icon and a 'resources' folder. That 'resources' folder is where you'd find the real tools for jailbreaking, but iJailBreak uses them.

BTW, it is pretty hard to brick your ipod touch... hope that calms you a bit.

I am not worried about Bricking. I got rid of jailbreak, restarted my comp, deleted OPT folder and redownloaded JB and started over.

I just used the PPC version of iJailbreak... should i have done anything else to install chmod? *confused*

there is no PPC version iJailBreak yet

"mkdir: /Volumes/Snowbird3A110a.N45Bundle/Applications/Installer.app/: File exists (1)"

Great. Now I got that one.

That means you haven't completely restored your iPod.

Try this:
When your iPod is on, press and hold the sleep and home buttons until it is off, keep holding them until it turns back on. Once you see the apple logo, release the sleep button and keep holding the home button ... Eventually iPod will ask you to connect itself to iTunes for a full restore.

don't wanna sound like an ungreatful bastard but what are the chances of .3 in the near future, maybe the weekend? im just holding out until then i guess.
but i do love what you have done and everyone here can't thank you enough

sh: line 1: ./iphuc: No such file or directory (127)

sh: line 1: ./iphuc: No such file or directory (127)

I got that error after my first restart. It's been stuck on installing SSH for a while after that.

I'm getting this error (multiple - 5+ times) I have restarted, restored the iPod Touch, replaced the iJailbreak folder, etc. All of the usual things. Hmmmm...

Any other clues?

Alright finally! So I somehow did it differently ( I think using BOMarchiver thing helped to unzip). But How do I know if it's JB'd? If so how do I install applications?

Nevermind!

Ok so I installed the programs I wanted in the installer.app but how I do I install other applicatins i.e. mail? or any other apps not in installer? thanks everyone for the help.

Somehow, after using Jailbreak, I found - right here in these forums - all of the instructions necessary to install the other apps. I even found what to do about Springboard (Summerboard) being incompatible and having to be updated.

It involves an archaic system called "search"! Almost magical in its nature, SEARCH allows you to enter a few words into a box and, as if they were called by a conjurer, posts relating to the words you typed begin to appear.

This SEARCH has an advantage over beating tired questions into the ground over and over again in that it 1. Rewards you for your tireless ingenuity by making you a better person for having found the answers yourself and 2. gives other people on the forum, people who have used this very process to answer their questions, a break from slackers who can't be bothered to take the time to do it.

ALL YOUR ANSWERS ARE HERE - IN THIS VERY FORUM. Search for them.;)

Whenever I say something along those lines, I get flamed by all of the newbies.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. For the record I have been using search, and it has helped me with some things. I don't understand how to SSH onto my ipod. Or use cyberduck. There is no thread on how to SSH to an ipod. Don't be an ass, because you are more savvy than some of us.
