Let me first state I already had 9gb of music/videos on my ipod touch.

After I ran this (and it worked) all of my music on my ipod disappeared along with my videos. But iTunes reports there is 9gb of "other" data.

It's Strange.

I will just wipe it clean, restore and redo the jailbreak and reload my videos and music.

Not a big deal.

Good job dude!

So if you use this iJailbreak, how much space do all the iphone apps and ijailbreak stuff take up on the iPod Touch? How do you revert the ipod touch to factory settings (unjailbreak) after jailbeaking?

Tkanks

hold down the SLEEP/WAKE button along with the HOME button until the apple logo shows up then release the SLEEP/WAKE button while still holding the HOME button. iTunes will then say you need to restore.

Someone has started and finished in this thread already. I quit it because it was taking way to long. And now my ipod is stuck on the apple logo. It will turn off and then back on to the apple logo.

What should I do?

I'm having the same problem. After turning it off and rebooting it it's never 'fully on' as iJailbreak says it should be before I click ok. It loads to the apple for like 5-10 minutes, then reboots again to the apple, then freezes on the apple WITH the little circular 'loading' icon overlaid over it. It's rebooted a few times now, and I've left it for almost 20 minutes, and nothing has happened. it will not 'fully' boot up.

The first time I quit it and restored it in itunes, but the same thing is happening again. in fact, this is the fourth time I've got to this point, and it will not boot past the apple logo.

Any ideas????

If anyone would be so kind to walk me through this and hold my hand (Since I'm an absolute noob at this kind of thing) Please PM me :)

Has anyone tested the PPC ijailbreak? Some steps, howto's and what should happen would be nice.

I have located step by step for windows, but I would appreciate one for PPC.

Assuming the 'build' I made works (and I don't see why it wouldn't...) then you need to simply download this:

http://www.appleguru.org/iJailBreak.0.2.1.ppc.zip

Then copy the unzipped folder to your applications folder and run iJailBreak. The application will guide you through the rest.

i get the iphuc error for the ppc one and still installing ssh for 20min, tried twice still going

You have a ppc mac? What's the exact error iJailBreak is giving you, and is there anything in your system.log? (Open Console.app to see)

You are supposed to connect the iPod after you navigate to jailbreak.toc2rta.com on the iphone and safari crashes.

So... When you open iJailBreak and click Jailbreak, the main window will change to "Jailbreaking... This will take a while". Then you should get a popup that says:

"Press OK to start the JailBreak process" (iPod not connected...)

Followed by one that says:

"First, on your iPod, navigate to http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com/. Once Safari crashes, connect your iPod and press OK." (This is where you connect your iPod to your mac)

Success. Now, how do I get games in the NES emulator, and more important how do I get "mail"?

To copy roms over for NES, use the installer application to install "Community Sources"

This will give you a lot more apps to choose from.. Then install "OpenSSH"

Then, on your mac, use an FTP client (like transmit) to connect to your iPhone (your mac and iphone need to be on the same wireless network...) via SFTP.

The user name is root and the password is dottie.

Once you SFTP in, just drag the roms to /private/var/root/Media/ROMs/NES/

(You'll need to make the roms and nes directories).

That's it!

As for mail, read up here:

http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Enable_iPod_Touch/iPhone_Applications

...for mail, you need to install GMM.framework into /System/Library/Frameworks and MobileMailSettings.bundle in the /System/Library/PreferenceBundles/ (and MobileMail.app in /Applications of course... Make sure you get the 1.1.1 versions!)

I got this error:

sh: line 1: ./iphuc: No such file or directory (127)

I got this error:

sh: line 1: ./iphuc: No such file or directory (127)

The only thing I can think of for those of you getting this error is that you don't have the BSD subsystem installed... but I really don't know. The code is pretty simple; Arix is just CD'ing into the directory and executing the file...

Well, it's failing on the command:

hdiutil attach /Applications/iJailBreak/resources/iphuc/iphonefs/rdisk0s1.dmg -mount required

(That shouldn't mean much to you, but it is trying to mount the DMG it pulled off of your ipod's ramdisk..)

In any case, do me a favor and navigate to the /Applications/iJailBreak/resources/iphuc/iphonefs/ folder on your computer and tell me if there is anything in it (Should be rdisk0s1 OR rdisk0s1.dmg... Make sure you get info on the file if its there so you can report the filesize and extension).

should the ijailbreak folder be in the applications folder or just the application a nd the resource folder? or does it not matter?

does this give you enough info ?

btw thanks for helping me out. :)

so can someone explain why in Installer.app it says I have 54mb left?

That's how much space Installer.app has to install any additional apps you download through it. There is a method to increase/eliminate this cap.

It's all in here; all new-comers to the jailbreak or those who have questions should read this thread first thing after a successful jailbreak:
