Would the XS Max play 1080P YouTube videos at 1920 X 1080 and then upscale them to 2208 X 1242? Thanks.

Xs Max is all about size ! While the size may be intriguing the hardware is not exciting.

Even though Apple states, "Preparing for Shipment" I totally forgot the Track by Reference number option on UPS (I used my billing phone number)

I got the tracking number.
Still in ZhengZhou China, but at least I can get email updates on this :)

I am excited. I got the X but missed the size of my old plus. So I am excited to be back to the larger phone. Yes, its expensive but I'm thinking after this I will not be upgrading for a long time.

My thoughts exactly. This is what I wanted the Plus phones to be. Same size but all screen. If the Max is as solid as the X, I’m planning on keeping it for at least the next two years.

My thought process also. I did get the 8+ last year...but THIS is what I've been waiting for! After this, I don't see a need to upgrade for a long while. Ok, at least 2 years...lol.

I will definitely skip next year, that I do know.

Apple will probably change a little bit the design of next year iPhones so you want keep the xmax for 2 years. Just look yourself in the mirror and tell him the truth

My XS was almost $1500 with 256GB and AppleCare+, after taxes. I suppose if I got the Max, it would be closer to $2000, or a 4K UHD OLED/Quantum Dot TV.... Ugh.

Good comparison. You’re right, the amount for a phone is really incredible to a higher premium TV like the 4K quantum dot. For the record, I own that TV you’re referring to in a 60” and it’s amazing in 4K.

I have bought every single iPhone under Jobs.

Under Cook I’ve bought 1.

I believed in what Apple stood for under Jobs. I don’t believe in what Apple stands for under Cook. I won’t pay these ridiculous prices knowing he is just chasing $$ signs.

Bro, $60 a month for a phone? Are u kidding me it’s a PHONE.
I’m sorry this is the market

My max will cost me £93 a month

People pay £200 a month for bikes after all

Ok, that’s a weird way to look at it.

As someone who has bought Apple products under jobs, cook, Sculley, spindler and amelio.
What’s the difference?

Honestly curious; which customer would tim listen to?
Customer a: buys a new iPhone every year.
Customer b: buys one iPhone every 7 years.

Customer a: not only buys every year but gets the Highest configuration and accessories and Apple care.
Customer b: buy1 or 2 products over the course of 7 years, and proceeds to complain endlessly, with heavy sense of entitlement.

Not a difficult choice to make.

There are more affordable iPhones, btw.

For me, the X in my hand is a beautiful piece of hardware. The XS Max will be and then some plus performance improvements under the hood.

I am excited about going from the X to the Max, but I was a bit disappointed in the cost. I was expecting $899 for the Xs and $999 for the Xs Max. Ultimately it's just a few dollars more per month so I am still getting mine, but that tempered my excitement a bit. Everything about it will be a great device though, can't wait to go back to the big screen.
[doublepost=1537192068][/doublepost]I do think we are at peak cost for the iPhone though. I think this $1,099 start point is the highest (I hope). I suppose it depends on the advancements that come in the next few years, but I think anything higher is almost unreasonable.

I wasn't going to upgrade at first, but then I realized how much I watch Netflix on my phone.

The experience would be a lot better on a larger phone.

Really... and exactly what would it take for the hardware to be exciting! The processor not a company with a phone can touch at this point. So, please do tell!

You can't show everybody that you have the latest iPhone with just internal upgrades. :D

I'm excited for my new phone... but i'll admit i'm more excited about my new watch (i've been wearing 2 series 0... so the watch is a big deal for me this year!)

I can't wait to pick up my Xs Max on Friday. 2 days to go here in Australia :) I went from a 7 plus to the X and I am so excited to be going back to a larger phone. I sold my X 2 weeks ago and have been using an 8 and it is so small and frustrating!

update:

well needless to say, I just got back from the Apple Store for a completely unrelated matter and wanted to see what stores look like on days iPhones drop and ended up leaving with a XS Max :p

I've been playing around with a iPhone X for the past few days and although the screen and build is beautiful, I couldn't adjust to that smaller screen. It being smaller and the aspect ratio made it seem like I was holding a apple TV remote controller or something. It was just entirely way too narrow and felt cramped. The XS Max is a bit more narrow than the 7 Plus and I notice the different, I just hope I can adjust to this weight though.
