First off, everyone is assuming that it's a hardware glitch. I'm not so sure. If that was tru ,then riddle me this?

Why am I seeing it on my iMac Pro Vega 64 since the 14.6 supplemental update? Yes, really.

Hmmmmmm??????? Oh by the way, I have a pair of LG 27" 4K monitors attached. I haven't noticed it on those.

Since it happens in the background, it's not bothered me. Like others, at first I thought I was seeing things.

I've not checked my wife's new iMac with the 5300 to see if I notice it there. I have work to do.
Almost no one is assuming it’s hardware. You describe a different problem, though the symptom is the same. Two people can each have runny noses - it doesn’t mean they are caused by the same bug.

That is not true. Would quoting 150 or so posts convince you of this or would you rather read the entire thread for yourself?

You describe a different problem, though the symptom is the same.

Says you. I believe that I am describing a bug that doesn't just affect the 5700 XT. I've spoken with Apple Support since my other post and they have confirmed this. I'm not the only Vega 64 owner who has brought this to their attention. No immediate solution has been offered.

Two people can each have runny noses - it doesn’t mean they are caused by the same bug.

False equivalency is always a terrible argument — especially when based on false assumptions.

Exactly right. Most people will never know about the glitch until they have already purchased their iMac. And only upon trying to research and troubleshoot the problem will they find this forum. We need a mainstream article written to bring awareness (which might also help pressure Apple into fixing the issue).

From past experience -- and I'm being careful how I phrase this, given growing cancel-culture -- but certain websites tread very carefully in terms of displeasing the source of sustenance.

That’s right. I made me member on as many Facebook Mac related groups as possible to address the problem . Replies are all sort off “Which glitch ? “ Doesn’t that say enough. No , apart of our community the world is not aware from the problem.

That could actually be a commentary on the global media on so many issues of much more importance.

This is so frustrating...I'm just waiting on Apple to fix this issue everyday, so I can order the damn thing.

Same here. Something that people might not be considering is that this glitch might be more than a software bug, but could be something that progressively gets worse and worse over time.

In the various Macs I have owned over the years, there was one where the graphics card failed, and the degradation happened slowly over a very long period until it just snapped.

I'm not saying I have any clue what is causing this glitch - but never does everyone else, nor Apple, it appears -- hence, it cannot be ruled out that this could be the type of GPU problem that starts small, and progressively, over time, gets worse and worse. There are that type of GPU problems because I've had them before on a Mac.

And what if the progressive failure takes longer than the 1 year Apple Care period?

Apple circa 2020: We are so sorry Steve, it no longer does not. So sorry to let you down. It is just too much to live up to.
Steve just went crazy because the casing of the first Macintosh didn’t have cornerangels of exactly 90 degrees. Can you imagine how deep the company has sank.

Why would I do your work for you? You made the assertion, you should prove it.

Sure mister I-have-contacts-at-Apple. This is your MO. Claim insider knowledge without bringing the receipts. Not interested in arguing with fantasy connections.

False equivalency is always a terrible argument — especially when based on false assumptions.

It’s an analogy and a pretty good one. Again, you make these assertions as though you are the arbiter of what’s truth. That may work on the youngins in this forum but it doesn’t work on me.

The longer this goes on without a fix, would suggest to me it may not be just a simple solution.

If all it needed was a simple driver update, wouldn't we have had that by now?

There is nothing at all to suggest this. Nothing.

How often does this glitch appears on your sceeen in an hour or day? I’ve seen some videos where it keeps appearing again again and again like 20 times in only one minit.
In my case it’s just from 5-10 times in a day as long as I can see them. Any idea why some experience more offen than others?

Guys I'm facing a new problem with  imac 2020. I can't return it, I initiated a refund on September 7 because of the problems I noticed and the fact that I am not satisfied with it and I consider it a marriage. Apple accepted the application. The Imac was purchased on a promotion for education - airpods were a gift,. So I received the return Number for airpods on September 8, but there is nothing for the Imac a week later. I called two more times and tried to find out the reason, they said that there was some kind of system failure, and so they can't do it yet, and they can't clearly answer when-what nonsense?! I want my money back! By the way, I never received an invoice for Imac-which was delivered to me on September 1, it's been 13 days ! This is simply Impossible, just a terrible service, it feels like Apple is doing all this on purpose, finding reasons to create extra problems for the buyer! I do not know what to do, now I need lawyers or a court to do what I have the right under the law? What the **** ! Who has experienced this attitude?

I think you have an exaggerated view of how great Apple was when Steve ran it. You seem to be forgetting Antenna Gate for example.

"It Just Works" was a marketing slogan, like Google's "Don't be evil".

Sorry to hear about that bad experience. Since this thread is about the graphical glitch your post will get buried into the unknown in this thread.
Wouldn't it be a suggestion if you start a separate thread about that? That way you will get more attention for your problem.

This is getting stupid. Apple can't get a machine with a limited number of components to function correctly? Like I said, in my job, I could never get away with such... well... not doing my job. I'd be fired. No question. Without resorting to "Steve Jobs would never have..." rhetoric, these guys need somebody to say "Not acceptable. Do again." You need to obsess over the details. I am so sorry but you have to. Unbelievable, really.

You are a computer hardware engineer?

You can find my posts here and trace all my experiences starting from the graphical problems with the iMac 2020. And in my opinion a return This is an alternative - this problem - And it directly relates to this thread. Everyone can face this result and a new problem that I faced, you would be pleased if the company simply broke the rules and did not return the money to you because of sheer delirium, Because of this hemorrhoids, which has been going on for more than a month. to me this branch was created to support each other ???

Many of us have noticed that the White Line of Doom shows on the screen near the mouse pointer.
But, has anyone tried to keep the mouse at the far top or far bottom of the screen for an extended period of time (and use the keyboard to navigate/scroll/select)?

I say this because I've never seen my glitch happen all the way at the bottom or top of the screen. It's typically in the middle or middle-high, or middle-low area of the screen.

I guess wonder if the glitch has 'limitations' in where it can show up.

If it's past the 14 day return, but you have Applecare+, do they just keep sending you a replacement iMac until it's fixed?

What would be the point in continually returning your iMac and setting up another one with exactly the same issue. When would you actually get to use the Mac you paid so much for?

14 days have not yet passed! but that doesn't stop them from breaking all the rules and wasting time
