iMac (aluminum) Hardware Updates for Spring 08 Speculation

I'm thinking of getting an iMac as my second Mac. Apple should update the iMac and Mac mini soon for everyone who wants one.

Apple usually take the online store down while updating a product line. Sometimes for an hour or more, to tease us. Tuesday is frequently the day that Apple choose to update... But then you can never really tell.

Thanks. Hopefully it is next week, I get my bonus! Of course that goes to other debt. Out the old debt and in with the new! :rolleyes:

Wife finally gave in, I'll grab the imac as soon as it updates (first Mac!), also have the OK for a Macbook as well, but I'm stll debating if that screen is too small....pro is too much $$ on top of the iMac....

Apple needs to do this next week....I dont know how much longer I can just keep reading about apps w/out seeing them in action....

No kidding! :) There are only so many OSX tutorials I can watch. This next Mac will be my first since 1989 (Macintosh II). I am returning to the fold after many, many years in the wilderness. The only thing stopping me is this new update that never seems to come :confused:

The Macbook i a good computer (I got my mum one and she uses it all the time), it depends what you need it for. If you just use it for run of the mill web browsing, itunes, word processing, iPhoto the screen size should be fine :)

-> faster processor
-> 2 GB standard ram
-> blue ray option
-> no remote control!

I hope BOTH of these comps will be the best I've ever had...the bar wasnt set very high by mr gates...:D

So you like the Macbook that much? I see you have a pro as well...All this will be for is web browsing and student type work...Someone has a new Black macbook listed for 1100 on craigs list..I'm struggling with my urges to just buy now before being sure......

blu-ray will not be in the next imac, especially if it gets a slimmer case. The remote may come as an option, but will defiantly not be gone (hopefully they'll give it an aluminum case).
 
Afternoon all again,
Just phoned apple in ireland??? sounded like an american dude
asked where my order was and progress, he told me there is a delay in iMacs and it will be shipping from china next tuesday... is that odd or normal, specially being i could have nipped down to an apple store and bought one off the shelve!!! am i gonna get a super new updated machine with a firewire glovebox fitted and alloy wheels, or have they just run out of them in the UK?

When did you place your order?

I ordered mine (custom spec) on Tuesday, according to the online store, it is estimated to ship on March 31st and be delivered April 8th. Seems like ages away! lol

I need a smidgin of hope to get me through each week of waiting, and I believe that this post will do.
 
only ordered it three days ago, but still im an impatient type of bloke who likes things now, even if they cost more.
From some of the responses here it looks like i might be waiting a while longer to get it!!
ive got 300 betamax tapes to transfer to dvd on this new baby so im hoping it comes soon!
 
I couldn't wait. I sold my old iMac and so had to get one asap. I have a 20" refurb on the way.

IF the new models are going to hit then I hope it's within the next 14 days.

Could we see a surprise ad Monday night announcing the release of new iMacs & Mac Minis during the NCAA March Madness Championship Game???? :)
Does Apple:apple: launch April 1st with ads the following weekend at the NCAA and the Masters???? (Are they a technology company or a marketing company?)
(Just read their mission statement, they are a technology company;)...when the manufacturing ramps up completely in China ...they'll be in Apple Retail Stores ready for release on Tuesday. (period):cool:
