Mine did the same (14 Core) back to Order in Progress.....(last week Sunday same thing)

Apple just ran another pre-authorization on my credit card. We might be getting closer to a shipment.

Update: the order status is again "Preparing for Shipment" following the pre-auth. Maybe this is finally the real deal.

My 14 core has been “Preparing for Shipment” for almost 12 hours now... Somewhat hopeful this time around, again, but I’ll believe it when I see the tracking number.

Interesting change to my order status. It was “Preparing for Shipment” and that has changed to “Preparing to ship”. I noticed the change a few hours ago, but this is promising as has been making ready to ship now for at least 18 hours. So I remain hopeful.

Same as mine. Was traveling yesterday so don’t know when it changed but this am is still at Preparing for shipment.

Congrats to all who are in this round of shipments!! Excited for you!

After you’ve had a chance to get those beauties running and integrated into your workflow, please post your observations. I’m still gathering data and trying to decide if I want a 10-core or 18-core for my full-time work that currently consists of 60% photography and 35% 4K productions and 5% 8K work.

UPS is failing miserably. My delivery has been rescheduled from Friday to Monday and now again to next Wednesday. Never had that happen with a shipment from Apple either.

That must be agonizing. I can only imagine how much turmoil I would've been in if my machine had done something like that while shipping. I'd be constantly asking myself "Did something go wrong during shipping? Will I get it only for it to be a lemon because UPS dropped it off the truck?" Constant panic.

Curiously, mine will be delivered this afternoon via UPS. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow afternoon (Friday). UPS even sent me a link to track its truck on Google Maps in real time.

I love it when I can track Big Brown in real-time! It takes the stress off important deliveries, especially for items as huge as an 18-core iMac Pro.

Congrats!

...My iMac has gone from Shanghai to Korea to Hong Kong and has been sitting there for over 12 hours now. My delivery is no longer Wednesday, it now says an estimated delivery date is unavailable. Just got off the phone with Apple, who is looking into this. The person I talked to could not say definitively, but it seems the system is now en-route to Apple, meaning it may have been visibly or knowingly damaged in shipping. They’re going to try and confirm that is the case, if so they will attempt to fast-track a new one to me. :(

What a nightmare! Ugh I feel terrible for reading your misfortune. I'm sure Apple will make it right of course, but you must be agonizing.

Definitely frustrating. OTOH, the customer service lady at Apple called me right back. Says it was already being handled, they had a couple palettes get mis-routed and UPS was fixing it but that’s the reason for the delay. As in UPS put the palettes onto the wrong plane. She said that since I ordered through a business sales representative, they would have them reach out to me about this.

This is why I really like ordering hardware from Apple. They always make it right.

I think I’m going to cry at this point. The iMac Pro arrived in Osaka early today and delivery was rescheduled to Thursday. Then I get emails from both Apple and UPS this evening saying that there is a delay with my shipment. I said to myself, “I know that,” but decided to double check the tracking anyway. I now have no delivery date and a notice that “A mechanical failure has caused a delay...” they will update as they have more info. I have not heard from my business sales rep yet, but tried to call them. At this point I can’t talk to anyone at Apple until tuesday. I’m betting if they ship me a new one on monday, it will arrive before my mis-routed one.

I used to order lots and lots of systems from Apple. Not so much the past couple years. This is my first Apple system order for 2018, but I took delivery of two 27” iMacs and four 15” MacBook Pros, not to mention a few iPhone 8’s and a couple X’s last year. ...Never had UPS or anyone else cock up a delivery this bad. Shipped on the 13th, it will now apparently be at least the 22nd before I get it.
