I'm wondering if they are letting things sit from out of country for a couple days due to COViD19....that's the only thing that makes any sense to me....patience. Prime has spoiled us.

For sure! My memory upgrade arrived within 24 hours of me ordering from Amazon.

I was thinking the same thing on letting them sit because of Covid, and maybe only things coming from Europe since @stolen. is getting theirs today and it came from Shanghai.

Who knows... I will *try* to be patient.

Still processing.... is that normal ? Never had such experience before. BTO.

I would say you're one of an unlucky few if you were a 4th order and haven't moved to shipping yet. At least if we are only using this thread as a metric.

I would call Apple and see what if they have any additional information. Did you order anything out of the ordinary? 8TB SSD? 128GB RAM?

Well, that‘s good: ETA updated to end of day 19 Aug — 2 days early.

Ordered 8/6. There is a charge from Apple pending on my credit card since 8/14. Order has been sitting in "Processing" status the whole time, no change. Expected delivery was 8/21 through 8/28 from the get-go, no change to that either.

10 core i9
8GB RAM (I have a 128 GB upgrade kit from OWC sitting here waiting)
1TB SSD
Radeon 5700 XT
10Gb Ethernet
Standard glass (not the nano-glass)

Wonder how/if the charge shows up on the Apple Card when it's about to ship for those who chose the 0% over 12?

Out of curiosity, why are so many people getting the 10th gen i9 instead of the i7? Is the performance really guaranteed to be better regardless of application?

Due to the higher clock speed of the i7, I would think that for the vast majority of users it would be more suitable rather than having the extra 2 cores of the i9.

I ordered on the 5th and am still at Processing.

I seem to recall this happening when I ordered the late 2012 iMac. I ordered a 3TB Fusion Drive model when it was first announced. It lingered at processing for 3-4 weeks and I gave up and cancelled. Said eff it and said I'll stick it out with the 2007 iMac I had at the time. I tried again a few months later, maxing out the CPU and GPU and getting the largest SSD offered, and it shipped out within a week of ordering.

hmm left my new iMac running overnight and noticed this morning that it shut down on its own. Looks like it gave a kernel panic and shut down! how many days after delivery do I have if id like to return it?

each to their own of course, but I do a fair amount of video/stream creation and editing so I was keen to get as many cores and as much GPU as I could afford. This will be my workhorse first the next 3-4 years so the investment felt safe, regardless of AS.

My order status just changed to "Preparing To Ship". Original order date was Aug 12. Delivery date is still Sept 4 - 14.

This reminds me of going to a doctor appt. where they shuffle you to multiple waiting rooms until you finally see the doctor 2 hours later.

I'm guessing that it has something to do with the 10gb ethernet, because I placed my order on the 13th with otherwise same specs, and my order is preparing to ship.

14 days usually. I had 2 KP errors over the first 3 days plus multiple freeze ups. Already sent mine back.

Not sure about that, mine has 10GbE and although it was originally scheduled for 21-28th it went to Shipped (from Shanghai) on 10th and was delivered (in NZ) on Saturday 15th.

You are my order twin. We have literally the exact same order and we both ordered on the same day with the same original estimate and same current status. Please let me know if you see a status change and I will do the same!

I’m in Florida.
